I didn't do rewatched last weekend, because I wanted a little bit of breathing space after the finale. I wanted to actulaly feel like the show was over. I got my timeline up on the SuperWiki and I ordered a new DVD player.

I was all set to do rewatches this weekend, but I was busy with work and experiencing my (extremely limited) social life yesterday, and then today I got smacked in the face with a case of "absolutely exhausted and can barely keep eyes open". I save the rewatch for after sunset, thinking that it made sense to do my TV watching at night... but I didn't realize how SUPER tired I was going to get, even though I slept in this morning.

Anyway, this is all to say that I'm going to aim for Thursday now.

I know I keep making excuses as to why S14 rewatches are literally taking me 1+ year(s), but I'm also just trying to be transparent. The last couple of years, I've been working part-time, but these days I'm working until 7pm each night and also for a little bit on Saturdays - and while it's infinitely better for my bank-account, finding time for my hobbies has been a challenge.

I'm hoping to do better if I can be disciplined enough to do rewatches on Thursdays, since I was able to set aside Thursdays when the show was airing to walk to my friends' place and devote 3+ hours to dinner, Supernatural and a Quick Reaction.

...hi

hells_half_acre: (...shit)
I realize that basically since the show went on hiatus back in February(?), I have done nothing but post messages that say that I'm alive and that I have plans to start doing rewatches again soon....

... listen, I don't need to tell you that it's been a weird year.

With the show finishing off in October, I do really want to finish up my S14 rewatches, post the clothing catalogue, and basically get that entire task squared away.

The problem now is that my schedule doesn't revolve around SPN posting anymore, so it's really hard for me to find the time. And, the truth of the matter is that I've moved on mentally as well. Don't get me wrong, I'm still curious about how the show will end - I'm still really looking forward to seeing the final episodes, and the special about the show too, etc. But since these last few seasons haven't exactly been my favourite, and my mind has already moved on to the next obsessive passion, it's hard for me to enthusiastically sit down and do a rewatch or work on the clothing catalogue. So, it becomes a task that is a low priorty for me. It becomes a task that's a little more "work" than "leisure." If I have a day off, I'm more likely to spend it enjoying new things.

And lets be honest, the majority of people who read and commented on my rewatch posts have moved on to. There are maybe one or two people who still engage with me regularly on here, and while I appreciate them immensely, it's still not the same as back in the days when I had high engagement and felt that people actually cared whether I posted or not.

I AM GOING TO FINISH THE REWATCHES. I mean, for chrissakes, I've got 1.5 seasons left to be a completist about the show. I'm going to do it. It's just a question of how swiftly. I was supposed to do one this weekend, but instead I hung out with my friends and participated in a virtual bookclub, and drank a glass of whiskey at night which makes me mostly useless and I know it.

And I'm going to finish the clothing catalogue too - though I don't know how many years later it's going to stay up, since it cost me hosting fees for all the pictures every year. But the core of it will remain. The clothing catalogue may look a little different this year, because I thought I was being clever by not updating my files as I went (time consuming) and instead just taking notes to update them later... and now I've accidentally lost half my notes...so... yeah, instead of pinpointing the scenes where they change clothes, it might be more vague, like "Dean wears this in the first half of the episode" because I can tell that much from my screencaps that I take as references while I watch.

ANYWAY, this is the latest "I'm still alive and I promise to get back to rewatches" sorry if I've let you down this year when you needed some familiarity and distractions. It's been a bit of year for me too though - like, my mother got major surgery in February, then suddenly global pandemic, then I switched jobs and was working two jobs, then I was once again visiting my mother and working evenings and weekends because I was in a different timezone with a new job... and now I'm back in Vancouver, and I'm fairly settled into the new job, but I've only been here two weeks, so I've sort of been forgiving myself a little in how slow I am to figure out what exaclty my schedule looks like in this new world.

My current loose plan is to start rewatches again this week/end.

hells_half_acre: (Default)
I know I keep coming here and making promises that I can't keep. On my last post a friend kindly pointed out that the only one putting pressure on myself to deliver was... well, myself. So, I decided to cut myself some slack. Let's face it, this is a crazy year. We all have a lot on our minds, and at the end of a long day, quite often I just feel too tired mentally to do a rewatch or work on the clothing catalog.

I do want to get things done, don't get me wrong - but, I'm also dealing with personal matters, starting a second job, and also figuring out if there's a way that I can get the draft of book presentable enough to pitch in the fall. (Odds are unlikely, but a girl can dream.)

So, my "end of April" goal shifted to an "end of June" goal, and my end of June goal is shifting to an "end of summer" goal. And it might just be "before season 15 actually ends" goal in the end. They still can't open the Canadian border to non-essential visitors due to Covid, so who the heck knows when that will happen. (We know it WILL happen... and they could technically do it now if they paid all the actors/American to quarantine for 2 weeks first, I think, but it's probably more cost-effective to wait and see if the border opens in July when they reassess. Odds are not looking in their favour though.)

The good news is that I DID get some of the stuff that was occupying my time done. And my newest hyperfixation is waning to be a little less all-consuming and a bit more normal-level of interest.

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.

I will hopefully have rewatches for you over the course of the summer. I had also wanted to write more fic, but I'm not about to make any promises there, as at this rate, I don't see myself having free time again until October, if I'm lucky.
hells_half_acre: (Confused!Dean)
See, this is what happens every day. I finish work around 2 or 3 if I'm lucky (a couple of times it's been 5 or 6). Then I think, okay, I have a couple of things that I need to do this afternoon, but that should finish by 5 or 6, then I have dinner - and by 7 or 8 I should be sitting down to watch an episode of Supernatural, so that I can get my rewatches done and the clothing catalog completed....

... but then it's suddenly 9:30, and I've only just finished dinner. I still haven't exercised at all during the day, and I'm getting really tired of sitting... so, fine, I could go for a walk, or exercise in the apartment if it's bad weather... but then that'll take me to 10 or 11, and then it's far too late to start on an episode of Supernatural... and if I do Supernatural first, then I'll be distracted because I'll be wanting to exercise rather than do Supernatural, and then by the time I'm done the episode, it'll be too late to go for a walk or exercise, and then I'll end up feeling unhealthy and in a bad mood, and that's no good.

RAR. Anyway, I only finished half that course last weekend. So, I'm probably going to be working on that this weekend as well. I will seriously attempt to get Lebanon watched. I will.

I'm just.. apparently super bad at time management. What I really need to do is is not be social AT ALL. Because I think what happens is that when I get off work, what I do is go on social media to see what my friends are up to, and then I get sucked into that black hole.

I'm sorry I'm so bad this year at updating and staying on top of things. This year as just been SO STRANGE.
hells_half_acre: (...shit)
So, apparently nearly a month ago, I was like - "with all this quarantine stuff and the inability for me to have a social life, SURELY, I will get more rewatches done and publish the S14 clothing catalog by April or May" ... but apparently just because I don't have to leave my apartment, doesn't mean that I can suddenly manage my time better.

In my defense, I was going to get back it this week - but work is crazy this week, so I don't think that's going to happen.

I should also mention that two weeks ago I was a special guest on the Supernartural podcast "The Plaidcast" talking about the S6 episode The French Mistake. It was a ton of fun! I suggest you look them up on Stitcher or iTunes. You can hear my voice! I sound vaguely Canadian.

Anyway, the next episode in the rewatch list is Lebanon, which is another part of my problem, because I actually want to have the time to do that episode justice, so I need a 4 hour window (when I'm not exhausted). At this point, I've learned not to make promises - but I at least wanted to let you all know that I'm alive and well. Canada, in general, is doing okay, all things considered (Would I prefer to be in Germany or New Zealand? - of course! No surprise there. That was actually the case prior to the pandemic, just because those two places are great in general.)

This weekend I want to get an online course done for one of my jobs that I currently can't actually DO, but once this whole thing blows over, I'll have this course done and that'll be good once I get back at it.

So, rewatches will resume sometime next week - is what I'm hoping.

I hope you all are well and managing to stay safe.

hells_half_acre: (Sam strung-out)
"Hey - didn't you promise you'd get a lot of rewatches done during the hiatus? Didn't you plan to have S14 clothing finished by the spring? Where have you been?"

... so, a few things have been keeping me from rewatches. And they are, in no particular order:
1)My own disinterest in watching S14 again - as it turns out, it's not one of my favourite seasons, so it's hard to motivate myself to spend my precious free time on rewatching it.
2)My mother had to get major surgery last week, and so I had to fly back to east to help her in the recover period - I brought my DVDs with me, full of hope, but honestly, between still working and hospital visits, I maybe only got 2 hours of uninterrupted quality free time every day... and please refer to point #1.
3)March is a SUPER busy month for me. I don't get back to my own place until next week. And then I'll be gone again a total of 10 days throughout the month. When I AM in town, I have to put in as many hours of work as possible, because I don't get paid vacation - so not working for 6 days out of the month is a major blow to my finances.
4)I have an opportunity to do another art project in April. I had fun doing the one I did in November, but that one ate up a LOT of my free time (including me pulling 2 all-nighters). So, we'll see. If I don't do the art project in April, then I may do rewatches then.

The upshot of this is that I WILL get the rewatches and clothing for S14 finished. But it'll most likely be in April or May. And until then, I'm just going to focus on keeping up with S15 quick reactions and timeline.
hells_half_acre: (Default)
Hey, I just thought I'd drop a note on this supernaturalless Thursday (actually Friday now, because it's after midnight PST)....

For those of you who like to read my rewatches - I know I've usually started them by now, and don't worry, I still plan to!

My brain broke a bit this month and made it hard for me to get things done. I was also doing Inktober and there were a few other events that disrupted things (such as being extra social around (Canadian) Thanksgiving and my birthday and whatnot.)

So, yeah, rewatches will hopefully happen in November - though I also have an art project planned for that month too, and I'm a week behind posting a fic over on AO3, and and and...

BUT I'll at least make a start on the rewatches - I don't want to be doing them until May though, so I'm going to aim for short ones this year. Probably more in keeping with my rewatches of S1, where I did two episodes a post and just gave general thoughts after having rewatched them. I know some of you prefer my lengthier analysis, but I don't see it happening - sorry! I'll do my best to still be entertaining.

What's up!

Hello!

Sorry about not posting more this hellatus/summer. Things just sort of got away from me, and it was enough just to keep up with the weekly posting schedule of my current WIP on AO3.

I will post updates to my fave scenes per season and whatnot probably next summer, when I can do S14 and S15 at once.

In the meantime, I've have an okay summer. Busy, stressful, but nice whether and good visits with friends and family.

The rains have started to return to Vancouver now, which means that it'll soon be time for Supernatural....

The plan is as it has always been - there will be Quick Reactions after thee show airs each week, and at some point after the first week of October, I'll get my hands on the S14 DVD and I'll start doing Rewatches. I'll be timelining as the show airs, and cataloguing clothes as a I rewatch... and both those things will go up at the end of the year.

In personal news, I need to find a way to earn more money. I still have my job, don't worry - but I need to start doing better than "just getting by." I wish I were slightly more employable - I keep trying to think of things I could do independently, but I honestly can't think of anything. I'm not an artist, so I can't do a patreon or anything. My only marketable hobby is writing, really, and lord knows 90% of writers have a dayjob completely unrelated to writing because writing doesn't pay. So, that feels like a dead-end. It's all rather frustrating, especially with the economy only likely to get worse as society continues to sink into this current pit of despair.

ANYHOO - Supernatural is a month and a day away! Woo! Fun times! And did you see the gag reel was slipped out today? It's delightful as usual. :)

I hope you all had a good summer!

hells_half_acre: (The Boys in BC)
Hey,

So, just a quick update - I know I still have the new shirts to post for S13 clothes - but I'm having a bit of a busy week this week, and I'll be away this weekend - so those probably won't get done until next week at the earliest, and possibly not until June... along with the charts and graphs to follow.

I've also still want to review the special features on the S13 dvds, so that'll also happen in June sometime.

Other than those items, I don't have a summer posting plan this year... I'm trying to work on fanfic more, but life and procrastination are getting in my way. Back in the day, I used to use fanfic to procrastinate other things, but now I tend to consume media when I'm procrastinating rather than produce it. So, my apologies for being absolutely horrible.

That being said, here's a vague outline of the stories I want to finish/write:

1. Third installment for Men of Legend 'verse. (nearly done)
2. Secret final-final installment for Demented'verse, which I already officially ended, but then was like "but...I've had another idea..."
3. Possible expansion of my The Time Traveler marvel fanfic about Bucky
4. There's a Tony Stark fic that I want to exist, that I won't outline here because of spoilers - but I don't think I want to write it myself.
5. I also really love Tony Stark falls into parental love with Peter Parker fics, and have read pretty much every single one on AO3 (even the bad ones), and sometimes when I go that hard on something I write one myself because I start getting pissed off at the OOC fics (which has indeed started to happen).. but, not sure if that's going to happen this time, seeing as how it might just be time for me to find a new fandom obsession anyway and also I'm the WORST at getting writing done swiftly these days and I've got 3 stories that I want to do more. (Though 1 is already nearly done.)
6. I'd also like to do some prompt fics perhaps. I used to get some great ideas from prompts (Men of Legend came from a kinkmeme prompt.) But again, if I can't even finish the fics that I already have ideas for, this might be a pipe dream.

Anyway, that is what is up!

Let me know if there's any other sort of post you'd like me to do on this final hiatus! Oh man...
hells_half_acre: (Sam strung-out)
Some of you may have guessed, by my lack of post Thursday, that I did NOT manage to watch the new episode of Supernatural as it aired. Our hotel didn't carry a CW affiliated channel, sadly... and then I was going to watch it on the CW website,  but honestly didn't have enough time at any point during the rest of the weekend.

Now that I'm back in Canada, the website is geoblocked, so I'll be pirating it... BUT, probably not until tomorrow, because I just got back this afternoon in time to put in my hours at work, and I still have to unpack and go grocery shopping and try to catch up on everything I missed on the weekend.

So, TOMORROW is the goal... if anyone still cares by then. :P

For those wondering - ECCC was excellent. Once again, I didn't bother seeing any of the celebrities, it was all artist-alley for me - because what I really love is original and fan-art, and seeing all the stories, comics, and creators just doing their thing. :)

I DID manage to watch the Oscars - our original plans of going to a movie theatre to watch them fell through, because the theatre was confusing in it's advertising and we ended up being late for "doors open" and it filled up... BUT I think it ended up being a blessing in disguise, because we ended up just walking down the road until we found a bar playing the Oscars - and we ended up with a lesbian bar practically to ourselves, a really nice bartender who turned up the volume for us, let us bring in outside food, and just kept the beers coming.

I was VERY happy that Jordan Peele won for best Original Screenplay, because Get Out really was a masterpiece in both horror and just plain communication. And I was also thrilled that Shape of Water won for best picture. Guillermo del Toro is an amazing guy, and although I can't see most of his movies because they are too gory for me, I DID see Shape of Water and it was a fantastically delightful fable for these modern times.

Anyway...

tl;dr: Quick Reaction will be done tomorrow. Sorry for the delay.

hells_half_acre: (Default)
Hey, so you may have noticed that I haven't started rewatches yet.

I've decided to wait until I'm back from my vacation in November. So, they'll start up sometime in late November. I know this ruins my plan of being done by Christmas, so I'll probably be aiming for February or something.

Rewatches will be a little different, as I won't be doing line by line dialogue interpretations - but just talking about the episode overall, sort of like my Quick Reaction stream-of-consciousness, but less recappy, more indepth, and with the benefit of hindsight.

Anyway, the delay is mainly because a)I haven't ordered the DVDs yet. b)I'll be house-sitting for a friend for the next two weeks who owns entertainment that I haven't seen before and I'll want to spend that time watching things while I can, and c)I also don't want to interrupt the rewatch flow with a 2-3 week absence when I've just gotten started.

tl;dr: Rewatches start in late November, after vacation fun times!
hells_half_acre: (Sam Winchester Top Chef)
 Hello!

So, I'm NEARLY done with the next (and final) installment of the Demented'verse.

It's about 60k, give or take (like I said, not done yet.)

My question is... when I AM done...

Who wants to beta it for me?

I just need someone to read it over, tell me what you think, make sure I don't have any homonyms in there... that I spell the Harry Potter words right, stuff like that.

I know it's the middle of summer and everyone is really busy, but I want to start posting it by the end of the month. So, if I have no takers, I'll probably just start posting it without having someone beta it. BUT, a second set of eyes would definitely be the ideal situation.

Leave a comment if you're interested, and once it's done, I'll send you a link to the a google doc.

hells_half_acre: (Sam Winchester Top Chef)
Just a quick note to tell you that I now have the Season 12 Timeline posted!

I haven't posted it on the Supernatural Wiki yet, because I'm waiting on a page to put it (I've put in the request, but Jules got distracted by underwear, I think... and who can blame'er.)

Anyway, for all those interested, go check it out!

I have no dates for the front half of the season, but thankfully they gave me enough information that I could at least approximately date the back half of the season.
hells_half_acre: (OfficeDean)
Was going to do a rewatch on the weekend, but ended up not... was going to do it tonight instead, but only got 5.5 hours sleep and so am too tired. Perhaps tomorrow!

Jensen & Family

Man, that pic Jensen posted of his family is the cutest! Awww...

Sherlock

So, Sherlock has started back up again - and for those who also watch it, and also follow me here, you might be like - Yo, where be your Quick Reactions? And to that, my answer is...

I haven't been in the mood to watch the show for some reason. I mean, even when publicity started rolling out, I wasn't curious enough to click on any links or anything. And I can't precisely say why, just that... well, no one believes me that I lose interest in things, because of how entrenched I am in continuing to watch Supernatural regardless of plotlines... but yeah, this is me losing interest, I guess.

I might watch it eventually... maybe when it comes out on Netflix and I don't have to pirate it? We'll see. I've enjoyed the few gifs on Tumblr that I've seen.

That being said, I also hear tell that the fandom is imploding in on itself, so maybe it's just as well that my attention is elsewhere and refuses to get enthusiastic about the show.

Check Please!

Ngozi is going to be at Emerald City Comic-Con this year, so I am jazzed - since I will also be there. It's in only two months! Oh man...

What else what else....

Fics

Currently slow going on the next installment of the demented'verse. I had a fairly good routine of working on it at least once per week, but that got broken in early december and I haven't gotten back into the swing of it yet. Kinda sucks, because I wanted to start posting it in the fall - but I want to make sure I'm on track not to leave people hanging with a WIP too long, you know? So, yes. Pretty sure this is going to be the final installment of the 'verse - so, I also want to make it fairly good? I mean, I might not manage it - it might suck. It could be that the 'verse has been declining in quality with each installment since the first, and this will be like a final nail in the coffin rather than a spectacular grand finale fireworks show. Either way, I'll be wrapping things up.

Still want to do a Supernatural-set sequel to Men of Legend. But that'll have to wait until after I finish off the demented'verse.

Haven't decided on possible sequels, one-shots, for Unfortunate Brother or I Imagine the Gods... but time will tell, I suppose. I have vague notions... but then I also have vague notions about expanding The Time Traveler into a full-length proper fic, and it didn't even get that warm of a reception.

Rogue One

I hear Rogue One is good, but I really hate tragedies, so I haven't seen it. "Why are you watching Supernatural?!!??" Someone screams into the abyss. "I don't know!! It just happened!" the abyss screams back.
hells_half_acre: (OfficeDean)
So, I'm not sure if you've noticed, but things are sort of on a schedule here... Rewatches happen sometime between Sunday and Tuesday, and then the Quick Reaction happens Thursday after the show - and not much else goes on.

This is because I am now working two jobs, trying to write a novel, and also trying to write fanfic... not to mention I'm knitting a sweater for my sister and I've also taken up soapstone carving for kicks (though I'll likely finish this current carving project and then leave it there, unless someone buys me more stone... because it's FUN, but I don't need to make a habit of it.)

So, that's roughly 6 things to do in a 7 day week, 2 of which must be repeated multiple times and take up most of the day.... So, yeah, you can see why I'm limiting the rewatches (which take anywhere from 2-4 hours), that make up the 7th thing that has to be done each week.

The good news is that I was promoted at one of my jobs and am making more per hour. The bad news is that the finance department is messed up at the moment and I haven't been paid for a month... which means that my second lower-paying job, which I was going to use to pay off my accumulated credit-card debt is currently my only source of income. So, um, yeah, thank goodness I have it, I guess! I mean, that SHOULD change in the near future, and my "better" job will start paying me again, unless the company goes under, in which case I'm royally screwed, but I don't think things are that dire. (*nervously knocks on wood*)

Anyway, this is just to say that if you've noticed my LJ has gotten predictable - you aren't imagining it. It'll likely continue like that until I'm done rewatches, and then hopefully I'll be able to devote time to other projects, fandom or otherwise.

tl;dr:
Sunday (or Monday or Tuesday): Rewatches go up
Thurday: Quick Reaction posted (hopefully) before midnight PST.

I live!

hells_half_acre: (thumbs-up awesome)
Hi everyone,

I've started a new second job, which is going well I think. Unlike my other job, it's more reliable - there is always work to do, which means that it should be a more reliable paycheque too. This should help a lot going forward, I think, as I try to recover my finances from being unreliably employed for the past 2.5 years. Or at least, I hope it does.

In news you actually care about - A really great friend got me the Supernatural S11 DVDs for my birthday! Yay! So, they'll be arriving at the end of the week, and I should be able to start rewatches soon!

Miscellaneous things...

Do any of you read "OMG Check Please!" ? It's been updating the past week (After this week, it won't update again until December), and right now it has it's "Year 2" Kickstarter up... and it's made over 700% of it's goal. I'm so pleased that it's doing so well. Ngozi is a great artist and storyteller - I love her style.

There's that meme going around: Describe yourself using 3 fictional characters. I can't decide on my third. So far, I've got Spock, Stu (from What We Do in the Shadows), but that's it... was thinking maybe Parker from Leverage, but maybe also Dean? I don't know.
hells_half_acre: (OfficeDean)

Hello Everyone,

So, while I wait for my rice to cook, I figured I'd update you on what's going to happen around these parts over the fall/winter/spring :)

Quick Reactions
Will still happen on Thursday nights after the episode airs.

Rewatches
I've got the S11 DVDs on my Amazon Wishlist. I'll probably wait until after my birthday to buy them, JUST IN CASE. So, rewatches will start happening sometime in early-mid October. I don't know how quick I'll be able to do them, but I'll be aiming for at least once per week, so that, at the very least, I'll be done by the spring.

Random Other Posts
If there are other types of posts of mine that you like and want to see more of, let me know.

If Clothes Could Talk
I'll be updating my personal files for S11 as I go through the rewatch, but I won't be doing the site until I'm done the rewatch. So, that will also probably happen in early-late spring.

Fic
I've started to write another (and probably final) instalment of the Demented'verse. I'm not sure when I'll start posting it. Mayhaps, not until early 2017, but it all depends on how fast I write it, of course. I also haven't decided if I'll do the weekly installment method of posting (which tends to be more fun, because people comment more) or if I'll write it all and post it in one fell swoop. Again, it probably depends how fast I write it.

I still want to write a little bit more in the Men of Legend 'verse, but that's on hold, since my mind is rather taken over by the demented'verse at the moment.

I kinda want to write Stranger Things OT3 fic too, just because there isn't enough of it on the internet to satisfy me... but, I'm going to be honest and admit that writing romantic stuff is not my strong suit, even though I enjoy reading it. So, I'll probably leave it to the professionals.

Fantasy Novel
Ugh, I'm sort of at the bottom of a pit with this one. I'm so enthusiastic about all the ideas that I want to cram in there, and how absolutely awesome I think it is... yet, when I try to put it on paper, it's comes out looking like garbage... discouraging garbage. So, yeah, I've been using my "original fic" writing time to write fanfic instead lately.

Work
I have two jobs! Now, mind you, I've had two jobs for the past year - but now I have a different two jobs. I "retired" from my old secondary part-time job last week (it was a mornings/evenings/weekends type job, and I REALLY missed having my weekends...and mornings) also, it involved a lot of driving and didn't pay all that great considering how much time it took up. The new secondary part-time job has a better hourly rate and it's work-from-home, so that's pretty convenient. It DOES mean that between my two part-time jobs, I will basically have full-time-job hours. So... that's another factor that will affect how quick I am to get rewatches done and fanfic written.

But, this is good, because it means I maybe can afford to live? Also, when one job is slow (ie: not giving me many hours), I'll have a second job that probably won't be.

Travel
I want to travel some place in 2017. I haven't been on a real vacation vacation since... 2010, arguably, and even that was just a week in Germany, sleeping on my friend's couch, and not doing much else because I was poor. So... if people have suggestions of where I should go, let me know. I like affordable vacations in non-tropical locations, because tropical locations are a)too hot, b)too full of scary bugs, and c)often just involve lounging by pools and that's boring... I like wandering cities and going to museums. The last vacation I took where I got to wander cities and go to museums was in 2009, when I went to China and Singapore. Anyway, if any one lives somewhere that's not North America, and wants to let me sleep on their couch at some point, let me know... or if you just have a recommendation for a really cool place to go.

Hello!

Just wanted to let you guys know that I'm still alive. I had a lot of fun at ECCC. I saw the actors who play The Punisher and Foggy on Daredevil, but there's nothing too interesting to report there. ECCC was super fun. I spent money that I didn't have, which might have been stupid, but if you never do anything fun when you're poor then the world gets super depressing really fast.

Anyway, I know I still have 3 rewatches to do to finish up S10. The next one on the list is Dark Dynasty, so I've been procrastinating like mad about it, because I honestly just do not want to watch that episode again. BUT, I have to for two reasons - 1)to catalogue the clothes and 2)because I'm going to be changing the events of it for the next demented'verse installment and so I need to remind myself what happens. So, you can expect me to do it eventually... maybe this weekend, if I end up with no plans on Saturday night.

In other news, I'm working on a sequel to Men of Legend. I've got about 15k written so far. It'll PROBABLY end up being about as long as the first one at 33k, we'll see though!

Personal news )

Anyway, how are you guys? I feel like we don't talk anymore. I miss you!

Work day is over! Yay!

So, let's talk about two things:

Rewatches:

Good News: I've ordered myself the DVDs! So, they'll be here by the end of next week.

Bad News: I do not have as much time this year to do rewatches as I have in the past. This is largely because my life is better than it was in the past. I have more friends to spend time with and I have a job - and perhaps soon I'll have an even better job. So, yay life! But, boo time! Anyway, this is all to say that I'm not sure what my rewatch schedule will look like. I may end up doing just one episode per week, as opposed to years where I could crank out a rewatch every 3rd day.

JK Rowling - Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Those of you who are Harry Potter fans may have noticed in the news that JK Rowling is writing a stage play that will serve as a "Eighth Book" to the Harry Potter series. The story will be about an adult Harry and his middle child, Albus Severus.

Now, those of you who are Demented'verse fans may have noticed how I try VERY hard to keep to Potter canon, even the little short stories that Rowling released on Pottermore - after one such story came out, I had Ron retire from being an auror. Now, that being said, probably something the likes of a TWO PART stage play will hold far too much new canon for me to not have already contradicted it in some way.

So, yeah... part of me is kind of pissed off at Rowling for continuing the story - which is sort of hilarious, because I'm sure if I were just a fan of the books and not a fanfiction writer, I would be thrilled and eager to learn what's going on with Harry and Albus. :P So, yeah, I'm a little annoyed, but the good news is that I've already taken the Demented'verse AU from SPN, so having it forcibly be made AU from Harry Potter isn't the end of the world.

It's no longer the most canonically accurate crossover the world has ever seen and that was a decision that *I* made. *sticks out tongue at JK Rowling*

Hello everyone! I haven't forgotten about you :)

So, a few things:

Rewatches - Usually this time of year is when I start up rewatches. Right now, I'm not sure how/if/when I'm getting my hands on the DVDs. My older sister usually gives them to me for my birthday, but I'm not seeing her around my birthday this year. Also I'm not actually going to have time to start rewatches until mid-October at the earliest... so, we're just going to have to see how it all shakes out.

Demented'verse - I promised the third story would start going up in September and it is September. I am 2/3rds of the way through writing it. I still REALLY want to keep my promise, so I swear that it'lll start going up (or go up completely) before October.

S10 Clothes - Are on hold until I get DVDs and do rewatches.

Life in general - kind of sucks. I'm broke. My second job isn't really working out as well as I would have liked. It could just be a bad two weeks for it, but I'm feeling pessimistic in general about it. There's also some health stuff going on, where I keep getting viral tonsillitis every few months, but because it's viral and not bacterial, there's really nothing they can do about it - apparently, I guess? Who knows.

Okay, so, I think that's everything! If I've forgotten to mention something, let me know.
