Further delays and the Oscars

Some of you may have guessed, by my lack of post Thursday, that I did NOT manage to watch the new episode of Supernatural as it aired. Our hotel didn't carry a CW affiliated channel, sadly... and then I was going to watch it on the CW website,  but honestly didn't have enough time at any point during the rest of the weekend.

Now that I'm back in Canada, the website is geoblocked, so I'll be pirating it... BUT, probably not until tomorrow, because I just got back this afternoon in time to put in my hours at work, and I still have to unpack and go grocery shopping and try to catch up on everything I missed on the weekend.

So, TOMORROW is the goal... if anyone still cares by then. :P

For those wondering - ECCC was excellent. Once again, I didn't bother seeing any of the celebrities, it was all artist-alley for me - because what I really love is original and fan-art, and seeing all the stories, comics, and creators just doing their thing. :)

I DID manage to watch the Oscars - our original plans of going to a movie theatre to watch them fell through, because the theatre was confusing in it's advertising and we ended up being late for "doors open" and it filled up... BUT I think it ended up being a blessing in disguise, because we ended up just walking down the road until we found a bar playing the Oscars - and we ended up with a lesbian bar practically to ourselves, a really nice bartender who turned up the volume for us, let us bring in outside food, and just kept the beers coming.

I was VERY happy that Jordan Peele won for best Original Screenplay, because Get Out really was a masterpiece in both horror and just plain communication. And I was also thrilled that Shape of Water won for best picture. Guillermo del Toro is an amazing guy, and although I can't see most of his movies because they are too gory for me, I DID see Shape of Water and it was a fantastically delightful fable for these modern times.

tl;dr: Quick Reaction will be done tomorrow. Sorry for the delay.

Rewatches delayed

Hey, so you may have noticed that I haven't started rewatches yet.

I've decided to wait until I'm back from my vacation in November. So, they'll start up sometime in late November. I know this ruins my plan of being done by Christmas, so I'll probably be aiming for February or something.

Rewatches will be a little different, as I won't be doing line by line dialogue interpretations - but just talking about the episode overall, sort of like my Quick Reaction stream-of-consciousness, but less recappy, more indepth, and with the benefit of hindsight.

Anyway, the delay is mainly because a)I haven't ordered the DVDs yet. b)I'll be house-sitting for a friend for the next two weeks who owns entertainment that I haven't seen before and I'll want to spend that time watching things while I can, and c)I also don't want to interrupt the rewatch flow with a 2-3 week absence when I've just gotten started.

tl;dr: Rewatches start in late November, after vacation fun times!

Beta? (demented'verse)

So, I'm NEARLY done with the next (and final) installment of the Demented'verse.

It's about 60k, give or take (like I said, not done yet.)

My question is... when I AM done...

Who wants to beta it for me?

I just need someone to read it over, tell me what you think, make sure I don't have any homonyms in there... that I spell the Harry Potter words right, stuff like that.

I know it's the middle of summer and everyone is really busy, but I want to start posting it by the end of the month. So, if I have no takers, I'll probably just start posting it without having someone beta it. BUT, a second set of eyes would definitely be the ideal situation.

Leave a comment if you're interested, and once it's done, I'll send you a link to the a google doc.

Timeline updated on LJ/DW

Just a quick note to tell you that I now have the Season 12 Timeline posted!

I haven't posted it on the Supernatural Wiki yet, because I'm waiting on a page to put it (I've put in the request, but Jules got distracted by underwear, I think... and who can blame'er.)

Anyway, for all those interested, go check it out!

I have no dates for the front half of the season, but thankfully they gave me enough information that I could at least approximately date the back half of the season.

How're things?

Was going to do a rewatch on the weekend, but ended up not... was going to do it tonight instead, but only got 5.5 hours sleep and so am too tired. Perhaps tomorrow!

Jensen & Family

Man, that pic Jensen posted of his family is the cutest! Awww...

So, Sherlock has started back up again - and for those who also watch it, and also follow me here, you might be like - Yo, where be your Quick Reactions? And to that, my answer is...

I haven't been in the mood to watch the show for some reason. I mean, even when publicity started rolling out, I wasn't curious enough to click on any links or anything. And I can't precisely say why, just that... well, no one believes me that I lose interest in things, because of how entrenched I am in continuing to watch Supernatural regardless of plotlines... but yeah, this is me losing interest, I guess.

I might watch it eventually... maybe when it comes out on Netflix and I don't have to pirate it? We'll see. I've enjoyed the few gifs on Tumblr that I've seen.

That being said, I also hear tell that the fandom is imploding in on itself, so maybe it's just as well that my attention is elsewhere and refuses to get enthusiastic about the show.

Check Please!

Ngozi is going to be at Emerald City Comic-Con this year, so I am jazzed - since I will also be there. It's in only two months! Oh man...

What else what else....

Currently slow going on the next installment of the demented'verse. I had a fairly good routine of working on it at least once per week, but that got broken in early december and I haven't gotten back into the swing of it yet. Kinda sucks, because I wanted to start posting it in the fall - but I want to make sure I'm on track not to leave people hanging with a WIP too long, you know? So, yes. Pretty sure this is going to be the final installment of the 'verse - so, I also want to make it fairly good? I mean, I might not manage it - it might suck. It could be that the 'verse has been declining in quality with each installment since the first, and this will be like a final nail in the coffin rather than a spectacular grand finale fireworks show. Either way, I'll be wrapping things up.

Still want to do a Supernatural-set sequel to Men of Legend. But that'll have to wait until after I finish off the demented'verse.

Haven't decided on possible sequels, one-shots, for Unfortunate Brother or I Imagine the Gods... but time will tell, I suppose. I have vague notions... but then I also have vague notions about expanding The Time Traveler into a full-length proper fic, and it didn't even get that warm of a reception.

Rogue One

I hear Rogue One is good, but I really hate tragedies, so I haven't seen it. "Why are you watching Supernatural?!!??" Someone screams into the abyss. "I don't know!! It just happened!" the abyss screams back.

The Schedule

So, I'm not sure if you've noticed, but things are sort of on a schedule here... Rewatches happen sometime between Sunday and Tuesday, and then the Quick Reaction happens Thursday after the show - and not much else goes on.

This is because I am now working two jobs, trying to write a novel, and also trying to write fanfic... not to mention I'm knitting a sweater for my sister and I've also taken up soapstone carving for kicks (though I'll likely finish this current carving project and then leave it there, unless someone buys me more stone... because it's FUN, but I don't need to make a habit of it.)

So, that's roughly 6 things to do in a 7 day week, 2 of which must be repeated multiple times and take up most of the day.... So, yeah, you can see why I'm limiting the rewatches (which take anywhere from 2-4 hours), that make up the 7th thing that has to be done each week.

The good news is that I was promoted at one of my jobs and am making more per hour. The bad news is that the finance department is messed up at the moment and I haven't been paid for a month... which means that my second lower-paying job, which I was going to use to pay off my accumulated credit-card debt is currently my only source of income. So, um, yeah, thank goodness I have it, I guess! I mean, that SHOULD change in the near future, and my "better" job will start paying me again, unless the company goes under, in which case I'm royally screwed, but I don't think things are that dire. (*nervously knocks on wood*)

Anyway, this is just to say that if you've noticed my LJ has gotten predictable - you aren't imagining it. It'll likely continue like that until I'm done rewatches, and then hopefully I'll be able to devote time to other projects, fandom or otherwise.

Sunday (or Monday or Tuesday): Rewatches go up
Thurday: Quick Reaction posted (hopefully) before midnight PST.

I live!

Hi everyone,

I've started a new second job, which is going well I think. Unlike my other job, it's more reliable - there is always work to do, which means that it should be a more reliable paycheque too. This should help a lot going forward, I think, as I try to recover my finances from being unreliably employed for the past 2.5 years. Or at least, I hope it does.

In news you actually care about - A really great friend got me the Supernatural S11 DVDs for my birthday! Yay! So, they'll be arriving at the end of the week, and I should be able to start rewatches soon!

Miscellaneous things...

Do any of you read "OMG Check Please!" ? It's been updating the past week (After this week, it won't update again until December), and right now it has it's "Year 2" Kickstarter up... and it's made over 700% of it's goal. I'm so pleased that it's doing so well. Ngozi is a great artist and storyteller - I love her style.

There's that meme going around: Describe yourself using 3 fictional characters. I can't decide on my third. So far, I've got Spock, Stu (from What We Do in the Shadows), but that's it... was thinking maybe Parker from Leverage, but maybe also Dean? I don't know.

Update on Things!

Hello Everyone,

So, while I wait for my rice to cook, I figured I'd update you on what's going to happen around these parts over the fall/winter/spring :)

Quick Reactions
Will still happen on Thursday nights after the episode airs.

I've got the S11 DVDs on my Amazon Wishlist. I'll probably wait until after my birthday to buy them, JUST IN CASE. So, rewatches will start happening sometime in early-mid October. I don't know how quick I'll be able to do them, but I'll be aiming for at least once per week, so that, at the very least, I'll be done by the spring.

Random Other Posts
If there are other types of posts of mine that you like and want to see more of, let me know.

If Clothes Could Talk
I'll be updating my personal files for S11 as I go through the rewatch, but I won't be doing the site until I'm done the rewatch. So, that will also probably happen in early-late spring.

I've started to write another (and probably final) instalment of the Demented'verse. I'm not sure when I'll start posting it. Mayhaps, not until early 2017, but it all depends on how fast I write it, of course. I also haven't decided if I'll do the weekly installment method of posting (which tends to be more fun, because people comment more) or if I'll write it all and post it in one fell swoop. Again, it probably depends how fast I write it.

I still want to write a little bit more in the Men of Legend 'verse, but that's on hold, since my mind is rather taken over by the demented'verse at the moment.

I kinda want to write Stranger Things OT3 fic too, just because there isn't enough of it on the internet to satisfy me... but, I'm going to be honest and admit that writing romantic stuff is not my strong suit, even though I enjoy reading it. So, I'll probably leave it to the professionals.

Fantasy Novel
Ugh, I'm sort of at the bottom of a pit with this one. I'm so enthusiastic about all the ideas that I want to cram in there, and how absolutely awesome I think it is... yet, when I try to put it on paper, it's comes out looking like garbage... discouraging garbage. So, yeah, I've been using my "original fic" writing time to write fanfic instead lately.

I have two jobs! Now, mind you, I've had two jobs for the past year - but now I have a different two jobs. I "retired" from my old secondary part-time job last week (it was a mornings/evenings/weekends type job, and I REALLY missed having my weekends...and mornings) also, it involved a lot of driving and didn't pay all that great considering how much time it took up. The new secondary part-time job has a better hourly rate and it's work-from-home, so that's pretty convenient. It DOES mean that between my two part-time jobs, I will basically have full-time-job hours. So... that's another factor that will affect how quick I am to get rewatches done and fanfic written.

But, this is good, because it means I maybe can afford to live? Also, when one job is slow (ie: not giving me many hours), I'll have a second job that probably won't be.

I want to travel some place in 2017. I haven't been on a real vacation vacation since... 2010, arguably, and even that was just a week in Germany, sleeping on my friend's couch, and not doing much else because I was poor. So... if people have suggestions of where I should go, let me know. I like affordable vacations in non-tropical locations, because tropical locations are a)too hot, b)too full of scary bugs, and c)often just involve lounging by pools and that's boring... I like wandering cities and going to museums. The last vacation I took where I got to wander cities and go to museums was in 2009, when I went to China and Singapore. Anyway, if any one lives somewhere that's not North America, and wants to let me sleep on their couch at some point, let me know... or if you just have a recommendation for a really cool place to go.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I'm still alive. I had a lot of fun at ECCC. I saw the actors who play The Punisher and Foggy on Daredevil, but there's nothing too interesting to report there. ECCC was super fun. I spent money that I didn't have, which might have been stupid, but if you never do anything fun when you're poor then the world gets super depressing really fast.

Anyway, I know I still have 3 rewatches to do to finish up S10. The next one on the list is Dark Dynasty, so I've been procrastinating like mad about it, because I honestly just do not want to watch that episode again. BUT, I have to for two reasons - 1)to catalogue the clothes and 2)because I'm going to be changing the events of it for the next demented'verse installment and so I need to remind myself what happens. So, you can expect me to do it eventually... maybe this weekend, if I end up with no plans on Saturday night.

In other news, I'm working on a sequel to Men of Legend. I've got about 15k written so far. It'll PROBABLY end up being about as long as the first one at 33k, we'll see though!

Personal news )

Anyway, how are you guys? I feel like we don't talk anymore. I miss you!

Rewatches and JK Rowling

Work day is over! Yay!

So, let's talk about two things:

Good News: I've ordered myself the DVDs! So, they'll be here by the end of next week.

Bad News: I do not have as much time this year to do rewatches as I have in the past. This is largely because my life is better than it was in the past. I have more friends to spend time with and I have a job - and perhaps soon I'll have an even better job. So, yay life! But, boo time! Anyway, this is all to say that I'm not sure what my rewatch schedule will look like. I may end up doing just one episode per week, as opposed to years where I could crank out a rewatch every 3rd day.

JK Rowling - Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Those of you who are Harry Potter fans may have noticed in the news that JK Rowling is writing a stage play that will serve as a "Eighth Book" to the Harry Potter series. The story will be about an adult Harry and his middle child, Albus Severus.

Now, those of you who are Demented'verse fans may have noticed how I try VERY hard to keep to Potter canon, even the little short stories that Rowling released on Pottermore - after one such story came out, I had Ron retire from being an auror. Now, that being said, probably something the likes of a TWO PART stage play will hold far too much new canon for me to not have already contradicted it in some way.

So, yeah... part of me is kind of pissed off at Rowling for continuing the story - which is sort of hilarious, because I'm sure if I were just a fan of the books and not a fanfiction writer, I would be thrilled and eager to learn what's going on with Harry and Albus. :P So, yeah, I'm a little annoyed, but the good news is that I've already taken the Demented'verse AU from SPN, so having it forcibly be made AU from Harry Potter isn't the end of the world.

It's no longer the most canonically accurate crossover the world has ever seen and that was a decision that *I* made. *sticks out tongue at JK Rowling*

Update on Things...

Hello everyone! I haven't forgotten about you :)

So, a few things:

Rewatches - Usually this time of year is when I start up rewatches. Right now, I'm not sure how/if/when I'm getting my hands on the DVDs. My older sister usually gives them to me for my birthday, but I'm not seeing her around my birthday this year. Also I'm not actually going to have time to start rewatches until mid-October at the earliest... so, we're just going to have to see how it all shakes out.

Demented'verse - I promised the third story would start going up in September and it is September. I am 2/3rds of the way through writing it. I still REALLY want to keep my promise, so I swear that it'lll start going up (or go up completely) before October.

S10 Clothes - Are on hold until I get DVDs and do rewatches.

Life in general - kind of sucks. I'm broke. My second job isn't really working out as well as I would have liked. It could just be a bad two weeks for it, but I'm feeling pessimistic in general about it. There's also some health stuff going on, where I keep getting viral tonsillitis every few months, but because it's viral and not bacterial, there's really nothing they can do about it - apparently, I guess? Who knows.

Okay, so, I think that's everything! If I've forgotten to mention something, let me know.

The Status of Things

1. Demented'verse - I'm working on it! I'm really annoyed with how long it's taking me to finish Part 2 of the latest story. I used to write this 'verse so efficiently. Anyway, I've been away a lot in March and today I woke up with some sort of illness, so ugh. If I don't get it betaed, I could start posting it immediately, but I kind of wanted to get it betaed, ya know? Anyway, if anyone wants to volunteer for betaing, let me know.

2. Clothing Catalogue - again, I was away a lot in March, but last night I finally started the slow process of getting If Clothes Could Talk updated for Season 9. So, yay!

3. Timeline - I'm so behind on the timeline. I know you guys never see it until the season is over anyway, but I really need to get working if I'm planning to post it after the finale.

4. Novels - So, for those of you who took part in the Novel project - you may know that two years ago or so, I attempted to write an original novel. Some of you read it as I went, other's just served as a deadline enforcer. For those who read it, you'll probably remember that it didn't really work out that great - I mean, I finished the draft, but the plot was weak and the resolution was unsatisfying. Anyway, after talking with a writer friend of mine, I've managed to possibly think of a solution, so I'm currently working on a second draft of that novel... wherein it will hopefully be far better, and more the kind of book that I originally intended. Hopefully, hopefully... I've been having fun working on that at least once a week. Besides the second draft of that quasi-urban fantasy novel, I'm also working on the first draft of a high fantasy novel, and I've got an outline for a sort of YA queer urban fantasy story too.

Where the heck is Hells?

Update! I'm still alive. Things are busy.

1. Rewatches - I have two more to do! I literally haven't had a four hour block of time in which to do one. I'm crossing my fingers for the weekend. For the next three days, my apartment is under construction (new windows!) so, yeah, it's definitely not going to happen until the weekend.

2. Demented'verse - Man, I really miss the engagement of 2009-2011LJ. I should really work on figuring out how to be a better tumblr-er. Anyway, that aside, I'm really hoping to finish up writing Part 2 of PPP SOON... and then send it off to betas for the cursory homonym and sense-making check. My original goal was the 12th, but it might have to be pushed back to the 19th. The good news is that it will be twice as long as Part 1.

3. Cosplay - so, I made a joke on FB that because of the fact that I can't afford a haircut, I now look like the Winter Soldier. Little did I know that a friend of mine has a love for crafting costumes. As a result, I am now going to cosplay as the Winter Soldier at Emerald City ComicCon at the end of the month. For someone who doesn't like bringing attention to herself, this is very odd behaviour for me... on the other hand, I also love pretending I'm an assassin and wearing men's clothing (not necessarily at the same time). Because I'm unemployed though, this is a cosplay on a very tight budget. So far I have spent approximately $48, and I still need to pick up some elastic and velco... and a black fingerless glove.

4. Speaking of my friend - If you have a Kindle and a dollar, you can read Tash's novella, Slam. It's really good! And it's about 30k, so it's a quick read. Tash is really great at world/character building. I'm a little jealous.

5. Job - I still don't have one. I've got a part time job that only pays half my bills... and I just signed up to be a tutor, that starts next week. Little nervous, because I haven't tutored anyone anything since I was in university - but hopefully it goes okay. Anyway, I'm a giant failure when it comes to having a career and I have no idea what the solution is. Weeping doesn't seem to help.

Okay, so since Thursday got 2 votes and 6 people didn't care, the new Demented'verse installment is going to start going up on Thursdays... starting next week.

Right now, I've only got about a 7 chapter buffer, but Part 1 (which stands on it's own well) is completely finished, so if my buffer disappears and I have to take a longer break between posting chapters in order to build it back up again, then I can do that between Part 1 and Part 2 (or possibly Part 2 and Part 3). Part 3 is the sketchiest part, because I haven't worked out all the details for it yet, and it's going to be the most AU out of the three parts. Part 1 and Part 2, I am just working Harry Potter into the SPN canon as it stands and changing very little, but in Part 3, I'm going to be using Harry+crew to change SPN canon.

It's all going to be called "Purgatory, Prophets, and Potions."

Because of the 3 parts, I'm debating how I'm going to post them. As one story in three parts? or as three separate stories?

I haven't decided. Technically, the parts could completely stand alone, but when I first concieved them, I pictured it as one installment that kept the three world alliterative title that I use frequently for the longer instalments in the series.

Oh, and as usual, I'll be using this icon when posting the story - so if you want to keep your eye out for it on Thursdays, that's the little visual cue that you should be looking for while scrolling through your feeds.

Demented'verse Release Day Poll

I don't know how many fans of the demented'verse are still around these parts since the great LJ slow-down of 2012, but I thought I'd post this poll anyway...

The first part of my next installment of the Demented'verse has come back from my betas, which means that I'm going to start posting a chapter per week soon.

Traditionally, I've posted a new chapter of the Demented'verse every Wednesday. But, I'm wondering if I should switch days now, since a)I tend to have busy wednesdays and b)Supernatural is moving to Wednesday nights in March, so maybe people will have enough to do that night (if they still watch the show, that is.)

So, let me know what day works best for posting chapters - or if you care at all!

[Poll #1995237][Poll #1995237]

I will be posting it to AO3 simultaneously this time.

Anyway, let me know your thoughts. Or don't, whatever. :P

Draco Malfoy

So, Rowling released a Draco biography on Pottermore today - and unlike some of her other Pottermore writings, this one DOESN'T mess up my headcanon or the Demented'verse.

Actually, it's pretty cool, because she makes something canon that I had JUST written into an (as of yet) unreleased Demented'verse installment....

What matches, what doesn't... )

Anyway, just thought I'd comment on that.

BTW: If there is anyone who is interested in beta-ing my next demented'verse installment, let me know. I usually don't get those betaed (much to everyone's annoyance, I'm sure), but I thought I might switch things up this time and actually get someone to give it a read through first, so that I'm not editing it after I post like usual. :P

Does anyone have an experience with selling things on etsy?

I've been debating whether I should try opening an etsy shop for the crochet items I make. Like... the supernatural pillows... or I just made a vest for my sister that's quite nice....

But yeah, I'm not sure if it's a good idea or not. I mean, I probably couldn't make much money off of it, if you consider the time it takes me to make an item....

Blah.... I'm just trying to figure out how to make money, since I don't have a job and I've kinda been a bit pessimistic this week about my chances of ever finding something or ever finding something that doesn't suck the life out of me.

Anyway, check out the cool vest I made for my sister:

And if you don't remember what my Supernatural pillow looks like:

FYI, if I had like $300 I could totally make a Supernatural blanket.

I've also made things like this stripey horse toy:

In other news, I'll probably do a rewatch tomorrow. I've found that I can either do a rewatch, or I can work on one of my writing projects, but I can't do both on the same day. So, today I'm writing some demeted'verse (I've got 5 chapters of the next installment done so far).

Anyway, if any of you have experience selling handmade items on the interwebs, let me know!

Rewatch Plans and Other Updates...

The Supernatural S9 DVDs/BluRay came out today!

As some of you know (and a smaller subset of you look forward to) I usually do a rewatch every year once I get my hands on the DVDs. While doing the rewatch, I catalogue the clothes and eventually update the "If Clothes Could Talk" clothing catalogue.

This year will be no different. The only caveat is that I'm not sure when I'll be getting my hands on the DVDs. My older sister usually buys them for me for my birthday, which is in October... but there's no guarantees as to if she'll do that again this year or if she does, when she'll send them to me.

That being said, I'm house-sitting for a friend in two weeks who will have the BluRay, so I'll most likely get started on the rewatch then... but then I'll have to take a break until I get the DVDs myself - the clothing catalogue is harder to work on without personally having the DVDs, but whatever, I can catch-up with it later pretty quickly.

Life Update:
In other news, I'm unemployed, so it'll mean more time for rewatches! Yay! It'll also mean that I'll slowly be running out of money until eventually I will be destitute. Boo.

Writing Update:
-Very very slowly working on another update for the demented'verse.
-Very very slowly working on original fantasy novel.
- Persistent feeling of guilt that I'm not writing more.

I survived somehow!

Insane-Family-Visiting-Time is coming to a close. I'm still in Ontario until the 14th, but it's mainly just me an my mum now, so I have a little more free-time on my hands. (Meaning that now when I stay up until 3am on the internet, it's because I'm an idiot, not because midnight-3am is the only time of day that I can get to my computer).

Of course, immediately upon returning to Vancouver on the 14th, Insane-International-SPN-Fan-Friends-Visiting-Time begins... as people start trickling into town for VanCon.

In other news though, I don't have a job at the moment. As you can imagine, this is both a good and a bad thing. Good, because I will have more time for writing. Bad, because I need money to buy food and shelter and I need a job to get money. That being said, this little break in work availability might be temporary, so I'm not panicking too early and I'm just enjoying this impromptu vacation.

Anyway, this is all to say that hopefully I'll actually have time to write a bit soon... I'm torn as to what I want to work on first. I have an idea for an extremely sappy Captain America fic... I kind of want to write about Arthur and Merlin again too for some reason (I probably won't, but I WANT to)... I had an idea for an original short-story and was going to submit it to a call for submissions, but I've missed the deadline on that because of being too busy with family, so yeah, I guess I'll put that on the back burner... and then there's the next installment of the demented'verse.

For the demented'verse, as most of you know, I'm going to be going "slight-AU" so that I can a)fit Harry&crew into the SPN story, and b)save characters that died in SPN because I like them. Unfortunately, I don't think I can save Benny - not because you guys haven't offered me suggestions (blood-replenishing potions/pills, and willing blood-slaves etc...), but because he honestly just doesn't fit into the story that I think I want to tell - so the whole Benny-arc will be outside whatever SPN/HP story I concoct and therefore doesn't need to be altered in the slightest... which means that if I DID alter it, it'd be rather shoe-horned in. Blah, anyway, we'll see, I suppose. (Also, I think Benny's main problem was depression caused by loneliness and PTSD... and those aren't things I can fix with magic.)

Anyway, just wanted to give you guys a brief update!

I haven't had time to check out all the stuff from SDCC yet, but I did see the NerdHQ panel and that was fun - and I saw the little sneak-peak they showed, and that looked interesting.... so, yeah, fun times!

How's it going with you?

Happy Canada Day! and also Demented'verse/Benny stuff...

Happy Canada Day!

It is already over for some of you, because I am in a stupid timezone - but whatever. Canada is a pretty great country, but there is still room for improvement. I would like us to get a better electoral system, for example, and perhaps it'd be nice if we'd stop destroying the environment.

Demented'verse Stuff

I've started outlining the next Demented'verse installment - which I may separate into two different installments, actually. We'll see, so far I can only think of one good title...

I've decided to go SLIGHTLY AU with them, which is something I never did with that 'verse in the past. I always made my installments as stories that did not affect the canon plot/character events of Supernatural at all. However, there's no way/room for me to weave in an unrelated SPN/HP crossover story in seasons 8 or 9 UNLESS I go AU with those seasons.

I decided, that what I was going to do was go AU but still tie them into the MAIN story plot... so, S9 would still end the way S9 ends, but the details of how they got there would be SLIGHTLY different.

Mainly, I decided that I was going to save people. There were, as I see it, three big (non-Winchester) deaths in S8-S9 - Benny, Kevin, and Gadreel.

I've run into one small problem...

When I first started talking about going AU, someone was like "You can save Benny! The wizarding world has blood substitutes for vampires!" And I was like, "Oh yeah! The blood pills!" ... and then I looked it up, and NOPE - we've been getting confused with True Blood, apparently, because HP does not appear to have blood substitutes. They have blood FLAVOURED lollipops, but those are just lollipops - not blood. From what I can tell, vampires in HP function like regular vampires - meaning, that I can't use HP to find a substitute for Benny's craving for fresh blood. (I mean, even if there WERE blood pills - it seems like Benny already has a source of "safe" blood by raiding blood banks, yet he still craves FRESH blood regardless... so, Benny's problems might be unsolvable.) If Benny's craving problem is unsolvable, I don't see any reason why he wouldn't still want to return to purgatory.

So, yeah, now I'm thinking that I'll just leave the Benny storyline as is... so, sorry to all the Benny fans out there. *cringes*... you'll be in good company with the Bobby fans, because I've decided not to save him either.

On the upside, I think I've found a pretty kick-ass way to save Kevin!

I'm still working on Gadreel... but that MIGHT have to wait until I see what Heaven is going to be like in S10. (Though, don't worry, I've got plenty of material to work on before we get to the Gadreel stuff.)

I'm getting pretty excited about entering the demented'verse again, I have to say... so yay!
