I have a question:

Were there any major scars that Dean's "re-hymenated" body would now have since 4x01? Was he shot at all this season or last? Knifed? I'm trying to remember but I really can't.

I know the boys have secret magical healing powers, but let's pretend for a moment that they don't - what record of events would be written on Dean's body?

As far as I can recall, the only external injuries Dean received was when he was shot in Changing Channels, and that wasn't even real...am I missing something?

Any help would be appreciated!

I can't get all the time he was hunting alone at the start of the season out of my mind. But I don't think we see him get hurt on screen.

Ah, good point. I had forgotten about that.

Hard to say since we see the things that could cause injury, but not the potential injuries themselves.

Hmm. That girl sliced him up in "The End". That theoretically could have scarred, I guess. If it actually happened.

Oh, and you can't forget when Alistair beat the crap out of him six ways from sunday. That probably left its mark. Unless getting stuck in "It's a Terrible Life" happened immediately after, in which case there could have been some more angelic healing.

Hmm. He dislocated his shoulder and probably got cut up a bit when they jumped out of the church window.

Was he hurt a bit in Metamorphosis?

oh! Bobby stabbed him in Sex and Violence.

Dude! You're brilliant!

According to my time-line, Alistair beat Dean up in late December, but Sam and Dean didn't start working at Sandover until March - so there is plenty of time for Dean to heal up from all kinds of injuries. As I recall though, Alistair just smacked him around (no knives), so it would have been all internal except for where he broke the skin on his face.

But he's definitely have a small scar on his shoulder from Bobby stabbing him in Sex and Violence.

What's your reasoning for putting that much separation between 4x16 and 4x17? Because I've been thinking the stint at Sandover started pretty much the moment Dean checked out of the hospital, because I've been thinking the whole point of having him there for weeks before the ghost deal started was so he'd have time to process 4x16 in the back of his head without having to either think about it or pointedly not think about it, so that when he got his memories back he'd be able to soldier on the way the angels needed him to rather than staying the ball of nonfunctioning angst he was at the end of 4x16, and I don't think it took three months to get Dean out of the hospital or for the angels to think up the whole Sandover Spa idea.

4x16 happened just after Pamela's funeral. Pamela died on the Winter Solstice (Dec. 22) in 4x15. The guy who was a few weeks away from retirement at Sandover was set to retire in April. Sam and Dean had only been at Sandover 3 weeks when they started talking...therefore there was at least 2 months between the episodes. I explain it all in my timeline...yeah, it doesn't make sense, and it might not have been what they intended, but those are the dates used in the episodes.

I just figure that Dean had enough internal injuries to require a lengthy hospital stay, and then he spent a month being so horribly depressed that the angels figured they had to do something.

He was hurt in Metamorphosis, tied up in Monster Movie, scratched himself in Yellow Fever, beat up by the kid in Wishful Thinking, beat up terribly in On the Head of a Pin, thrown into a wall and some glass stuff by Sam in As the Levee Breaks, which is bound to leave some scars, and oh! erm, Bobby nicked him to get his blood to kill the incubus? somewhere in s4?

Was Fallen Idolss s4 or s5? When he was tied up? Or in Abandon All Hope where he was flung to the tree?

Actually, now that i've given more thought about it, i think he was mostly flung into things these past 2 seasons. Or strangled and tied up. Nothing shot, so unfortunately we can't see him with a thread and needle.

Not so surprising, the only major injury i thought - apart from the whole demon blood thing - was the ghouls slicing Sam's wrists in Jump the Shark, since i watched it yesterday. :)

But pretty good question.

Yup, I think you pretty much covered it...and most of those are internal/superficial wounds. So, we can safely assume, I think, that Dean is still relatively scar-free.

Oh, then it's time for another shirtless Dean episode. ;p

I agree - if only in the interest of fairness: We've had way more shirtless Sam scenes over the years, than shirtless Dean!

I swear, it's only in the interest of fairness... ;P
