Remembrance Day Comment-Fic-Meme!
Nov. 10th, 2009 11:20 pmUp here in Canadaland, Nov. 11 is Remembrance Day - which means I don't have to work! So, in honour of all those who fought for my country in wars and whatnot, I'm going to spend the day writing fanfiction.
And you, dear flist, are going to give me prompts!
WHAT TO DO: Leave me a prompt in comments! I will write a little drabble to fulfil it.
RULES:
1. I only write Gen.
2. I don't watch much TV, so if you suggest crossovers, I might not have the knowledge to do it.
3. For those of you who friended me based on my Harry Potter/Supernatural crossover. You CAN prompt me to write with the Harry Potter characters; HOWEVER, if it is already a scene that I'm working on for the sequel, I may refuse the request, because I don't want to spoil the surprise...or I may still write it, but not set it in the Damned Demented Demon 'verse.
4. You can prompt until the end of Nov. 11th (in whatever time zone you are in.)
PROMPT AWAY!
PS: I'll feel really pathetic if nobody prompts. I've been jazzing myself up to do this for a whole week.

When Ginny Met Dean
Date: 2009-11-12 07:20 am (UTC)When Ginny Met Dean...
It was finally time for the scheduled call with Harry. Ginny had been going out of her mind at home - looking after two kids and an infant, making sure that she sent a letter to Teddy once a week while Harry was gone. Her mother stopped by to help a lot of course, but that sometimes just left her feeling more frazzled. She really missed her husband.
She was sure Hermione would make fun of her for it, but she was sure to brush her hair and make herself look as presentable as possible before she called Harry. After all, maybe he come home sooner if he remembered what he was missing...and not the screaming children part of what he was missing.
"Harry?" Ginny said, looking into the mirror with an anticipatory smile.
Harry didn't pick up right away. No worries, there was a time difference, maybe Harry was working off a clock that was a few minutes delayed.
"Harry?" Ginny tried again. She watched as the mirror in front of her shifted from her own face to grey, then a pair of familiar green eyes...
"...don't think that's a phone," somebody on Harry's side of the mirror said, and then the image sharpened, and Ginny's breath caught. It wasn't Harry. The green eyes didn't belong to Harry.
"Well, hello there," the stranger said with a smile that Ginny had never seen on Harry's face, "what's Harry doing with a girl like you in his pocket?"
"Where's my husband?" Ginny asked before her mind had even caught up with what was happening. She watched as the smile fell from the strangers face, and her heart hammered at what that could possibly mean...
"He's talking to Phil right now," the stranger said, "don't worry. He's alright. He'll be back in a minute."
Ginny breathed a sigh of relief. Now that she wasn't terrified that something horrible had happened to Harry, she studied the face of the stranger in the mirror. She was amazed at how similar the eyes were to her husbands, but the face...there was a smattering of freckles across the man's nose, faded with time, but surely when he was a child they would have been more prominent, like her second born. Harry had also never worn his hair that short, but it suited the man in the mirror.
"May I ask who you are?" Ginny asked, wondering if he was a member of the American team of Aurors. She knew standard practice was to assign trainees to Dementor jobs, but maybe they had made an exception for someone with exceptional experience. The man in the mirror certainly looked like he could be considered exceptional.
"Dean Winchester," Dean replied, smile back in place.
"Dean..." came a voice from Dean's side of the mirror. Ginny watched with amusement as Dean rolled his eyes. "That's my brother Sam, we're going to ignore him though, that way I can keep you all to myself until Harry gets back. I don't think he'd mind, do you?"
Ginny found herself laughing.
