VanCon Reports coming...

VanCon is going well!

And even though these days youtube videos are plentiful, as are tweets, and I don't think people really read reports anymore - I'm still planning to write up my reports as usual. They'll probably start appearing starting Sunday night. I've had my trusty notebook with me the whole time, no doubt confusing my teenage seat neighbours who have their phones and camera out the whole time.

(I don't understand why anyone would looking through a camera or tweeting while sitting in the room with the actors...guess I'm too old to get the appeal...)

Same. I take a couple of pictures - usually at the beginning of the panel - then I put the camera down.

Now, mind you, maybe people wonder how I can write the whole time and enjoy the panel - I guess it's all about what you've trained your brain to do, and thanks to my multiple degrees, I am very good at listening/watching while simultaneously taking copious notes. :P

Anyway, yay! I'm glad I've got at least one other person who looks forward to my reports! :)

I'm off to the Saturday night concert now!

You know there's community in Russian where fans follow conventionss in real time. Girls don't sleep through the night, they gather and bring tweets and photos and posts, others translate them, people exchange their opinions. I usually don't stay late, sometimes help to translate but I love to read all that later in the morning - it's awesome.

Wow. If we rewinded to a few years ago, and then put me in Russia, that would have been the death of me... thankfully, these days, unless I'm AT a convention, I can usually pull myself away from the computer and then just catch up when I actually have the time.

As someone who doesn't tweet and who doesn't like to sit through videos (I want to get to the answers, not hear the questions or sit through the time waiting to get to the next questioner) I LOVE reports. I'm looking forward to yours.

I love your reports! Even when we've been to the same con :) I also don't have the patience to sit through lots of vids. Plus, you write very well!
