Vidding Question
Apr. 7th, 2012 05:08 pmDoes anyone know anything about rendering?
I'm doing a vid-project (for personal use only)...and when I go to "produce" my vid, it takes forever and gives me a file that is 2+ GB, which doesn't make any sense to me since the source file isn't even that big and what I'm producing is shorter.
I was just wondering if anyone could give me any tips...should I be producing only into .wmv format instead of .avi or mpeg4? What gives?
Any help would be appreciated!

Date: 2012-04-08 01:26 am (UTC)Some video file types are always going to be bigger than others.
Mkv - big, HQ
Mov - big
Avi - big, still HQ (in most cases)
Mp4 - smaller
Wmv - smaller
Yeah, I'd try the wmv. It shouldn't take too long, depending on how long your video is and what settings you use.

Date: 2012-04-08 05:20 am (UTC)I can see the difference in quality between mpeg4 and wmv, but for the purposes of this project, I don't really have to have top quality picture - and it just makes more sense to conserve space.
Thanks so much for the help! :)
