Maybe it's just me...

...but I like the idea of Mycroft not knowing that Sherlock is alive. I like the idea that in this version, only Molly (and the homeless network) know.

Of course, in order to keep 221B, someone needs to pay Sherlock's half of the rent...or all the rent, if John doesn't return...and that sort of lends more to a Mycroft-arrangement. I suppose there's a really sadistic part of me that wants Mycroft to think that his brother is dead.

In other news: I'm loving all the speculation out there about how Sherlock pulled it off.

Mrs. Hudson just might not rent 221B out again. (Or at least not do it long enough for Sherlock to come back.)

I don't think MyCroft knows. And it serves him right I think.

Ooo, there's one way to get around the rent-issue then. If Mrs. Hudson just keeps it empty, or tells John he doesn't have to worry about the full rent...

But yeah, I just want Mycroft to suffer for his mistake as much as John has to...it's only fair.

Oooo, there's a lot of spec? I'd love to read some, if you know of a general place to find it.

But I agree. I like Mycroft not knowing. I think it fits with this story a lot better.

It's all on tumblr (what I've seen so far), though I know the LJ community has a thread devoted to it too...I'll go find you some links...

I think Mycroft not knowing would be a nice change-up to the mythology.

Meh, tumblr. I can't get on it; I have too much stuff to do! LOL. But that would be awesome for some lj links! ♥

I agree, and it works, because this group of characters has a different group of dynamics than ACD or even the movie version. Besides, Mycroft is at least partially responsible for Sherlock's situation, and don't want him knowing his brother faked it.

Well, I gave you one link to ONE post in tumblr...so you don't have to go wading through it and wasting time if you don't want to...you can just read that one post.

But yeah, I sort of want Mycroft punished a bit, I guess. And I think it'd be a really cool dynamic to have Molly be the only character who knows truth.

Okay: general LJ discussion post - http://sherlockbbc.livejournal.com/3726202.html

My favourite theory on tumblr - http://marielikestodraw.tumblr.com/post/16002223365/daysofstorm-shaddicted-wizardwarrior

Both marielikestodraw and anarmydoctor on tumblr frequently reblog theories - or Moffat/Gatiss weighing in on theories (apparently we've all missed something).

My theory: it was simply that Holmes pushed Moriarty off the roof! It was a simple 'sleight of hand' - Sherlock makign John stand back and making him concentrate on the phone call. I agree it was one of the homelss network knocking John down, adn Molly covering up things in the morgue.

I do think rhododendron poison comes into play somewho but not sure where!

My problem with it being Moriarty (in Sherlock's coat) is that we SEE Sherlock stood at the edge with the phone, and we see him fall over...and John doesn't take his eyes off him...so there's no time to make the switch. Unless I'm missing something...

I'm also wondering how rhododendron poison comes into it... it's an odd moment in the show when Sherlock brings it up, because he never connects it to anything in the kidnapping.

Sherlock's bloodied face was shown after hitting the ground and there was an awful lot of blood on the sidewalk. I honestly have no idea how it was pulled

One theory suggested that somehow Sherlock had dosed John with the hallucinagen from Hounds - so he saw what he feared...another suggested that Sherlock wasn't really dead, just bloodied and with a pulse-stopping trick (which you can do with a rubber ball - which Sherlock had been playing with earlier).

I don't know...I think we're all going to drive ourselves crazy coming up with theories until they come back with S3.

I also like the idea that Mycroft would think Sherlock was dead, the prat :( But I'm assuming that Mycroft would have to be in on it, because wouldn't they call him in to identify the body?

Very true...mind you, Mycroft was fooled (seemingly) by Irene's second death, and that was orchestrated by Sherlock...
