LJ still won't let me add pics to my last post (or edit it properly)...so, let's do this instead.

QUESTION: If Sherlock Holmes (current BBC version) could buy anything (inexpensive) from Diagon Alley, what would it be?

Let me know in comments!

Dragon's blood (he'd find another dozen properties for it, to add to the existing twelve).

A foe glass (this one is obvious).

A potion's kit (ditto on the obvious).

Not sure if you'd consider these too expensive though.

A library card? He might not even have to buy that at all. Wands are also releatively cheap.

Potions! Man, I'm an idiot...yeah, that one should have been obvious. :P

One trip only - he's unlikely to get back in, so library card wouldn't do him much good. Also, wands only work for wizards.

Thanks for playing! I like your ideas!

*Bows to the audience. Looks at the display of tacky prizes.*

Damn, just can't choose between the smoothie maker and the portable oven. XD

I thought about a pensieve too but they would be expensive. If he could figure out how to work one and use it to observe other people's memories for cases... well, it's not like he trusts anyone else's POV, does he?

*Slinks away with the smoothie maker*

I'm not sure what would be inexpensive there. Maybe an owl? Or some of those joke things from the Weasley's shop!

Hmm, yes...that's my problem. JKR never released a price list for diagon alley. :P

It'd be funny if Sherlock started sending owls around London. "Come at once, if convenient. SH PS: The owl bites."

Okay for my two cents, that would be awesome! Also, you really have Sherlock's voice down pat, wow.

I think he would at least buy bertie botts every flavor beans. He would totally develop some kind of key and method for them. XD

Lord knows what kind of books he would buy.

Btw...did you see this story (http://wwww.fanfiction.net/s/6339646/1/)? It totally surprised me when I saw it the other day.

Link doesn't work...what is it?

Hmm...books books...I wonder. I'm not sure Sherlock could pick just one thing...

Dang, my fingers 4 adding 2 many w's. That what I get 4 doing this on my phone.

As for books, he would take a lot. Just imagine all of the law, history, atlas, obsure potion and so many more references. Looking at his office he has a lot of books. Just imagine how frustrated he would be by their lack of catalog considering how tech savvy bbc!sherlock is!

Oh ok! I did see that story then - for some reason HP crossovers are never completed though. It drives me batty.

He can only buy one thing! Imagine how torturous that would be for him. Oh man.

I still say because wizard people are really messed up and sherlock would not want to deal with them, would just buy the candy. It would totally keep him entertained and not have to deal with any wizarding world bullcrap.

Anyway, wip also drive me crazy, but it is torterous when it is there taunting me with its summary to read and it recently updated. Sometimes, I can not resist temptation and I click. I did that for your stories originally, which makes me very lucky sometimes! :D

Saw it! See above comment. :) Thanks for checking though - I do love a good crossover.

I think he'd probably buy a sneakoscope. I'm not sure how much that would cost, but with the conversion rate, I believe he'd be out of some cash. Also a pair of dragon-hide boots, cause those would look awesome with the coat.

Haha, fashion! :)

He WOULD look pretty damn good in a nice pair of boots, I must admit.

I think he would go into Florish and Blotts and go to the Muggle history section, start reading and then begin exlaiming loudly that it was "wrong" or "silly". John would be stood nearby looking in turns embarassed and exasperated and trying to chivvy him away. Sherlock would then get so annoyed he'd leave without buyng anything and proceed to get very distracted by someting in Weasley's Wizard Weezes and buy a fake wand or something similar that he would enjoy leaving around in the flat for John to find, just to see the hilarious expression on his face.

Part of me doesn't think he's buy a potion's kit to actually use because he's egotistical enough to only want to be able to work things out himself, with no influences etc (apart from John and he always guesses what John is going to come up wth anyway). I think he'd buy it just to sit around and work out what makes these combinations so special - how it works. And then he'd annoy his brother by not sharing the findings.

From: [identity profile] hells-half-acre.livejournal.com
Haha, he probably would do that, yeah. I like the idea of him leaving something around the flat to annoy John as well. And John would be like "Why did we ever go into diagon alley...*sigh*"

And I think you have a point about the potions kit...but he might want to buy a potions book. Just to marvel at the weird combinations.

I think, secretly, annoying John is Sherlock's favourite past time. :P

A book that has moving pictures. I think he might be fascinated by it and if the subject matter is something he knows nothing about, even better.

True...I wonder if there are books on gruesome murders in Wizarding history...

He'd skip buying things in Diagon Alley and instead break into the Ministry of Magic and harass either the auror department, or somehow reach the Minister of Magic and harangue him for running things poorly. Or something.

Somehow, the only way I imagine Sherlock going into Diagon Alley...is that he accidentally goes into a Wizarding crime scene, manages to fail getting obliviated and then drive the aurors nuts.

Okay, on topic...um...a...new skull? Of a wizarding creature. Because he'd delight in calling people stupid when they think they skull is fake.
