A Supernatural Trip to Staples

I went to Staples to print possible autograph-pics for VanCon. The manager was the one assisting me. As soon as she opened my jumpdrive, she said "I know him! I watched a soap opera just for him!" then she got embarrassed, and added in a small voice, "he was Eric."

During the course of us printing the pictures, I found out that she had tried to watch Supernatural when it first came out, but that she sadly hadn't liked it. I kept my initial reaction (aghast) to myself, and just shrugged and said, "that's too bad, it's a really good show."

Then we got to the picture from On The Head of a Pin, (after several other ladies who worked there walked by and drooled over either Jensen or Jared or both), and she said, "I'm thinking I'm going to have to give this show another chance." So I smiled, and told her that if she starts at the beginning, she should at least give it until episode 9. :)

For $8, here is my bounty:

Now, the problem was that Staples couldn't print on photo paper - so she printed on cardstock. They still look pretty good though. The ones of Alona are the best. Staples also cropped some of them - so the On The Head of the Pin print cuts off the back of Jensen's head...it also came out a bit dark (the curse of everything Supernatural related). So, I might wait until I'm back in Vancouver and print that one off again at the place near me that prints on photo-paper for $1.

I love the black&whites of Jared and Jensen - but Jensen came out a little bit pixely, even with him scaled down. Jared came out a little bit yellow for some reason. But I think both of them would look better if they were on photo-paper. Mind you, I'm still thinking I'll get Jared to sign the poster I got of him last year, so maybe I'll just get Jensen redone in Vancouver.

I think the pic for Guy Bee turned out pretty good (again, a bit dark, but *shrug*). The picture of Jensen in the moonshirt came out WAY too pixely, so that's out. And the one of him from Frontierland is nice, but I'm really digging the black and white now that I see them printed.

Does anyone know who originally took that picture of Jensen? Maybe there's a higher quality version of it somewhere.

I think I'm just going to buy something for Steven Williams, Corin Nemec, Chad, and Colin Lawrence...just because it's so hard to find quality pictures on the internet (or at least it is for me, because I do not have very much time these days.)

The Jensen pic with the microphone could be from Wolfpup here: http://wolfpup2000.livejournal.com/ - I remember she had also some posts with HD pics in original size. Try to find the ones from the breakfast from Vancon 2010.
As for the moon shirt pic: I have it in 1084 x 1450, if you want.

Hmm...if it is Wolfpup, it's not from Vancon 2010. He's wearing the wrong clothes. Thanks for the help though!

I think I'm going to stick with the B&W Jensen photo for signing, but I'll keep in mind that you have the moon shirt in case I can't get a good enough version of the B&W shot in the next week. :)

Cardstock??? Meh. I can see why some would be dark because of that.

Indeed. It always works out that I can't ever get exactly what I want. Sigh.

Anyway, worse comes to worse, I'll be running around Vancouver on the Thursday before the Con (in the morning, because I already have plans for the afternoon), trying desperately to find a place that will print on photo-paper for me. Really, I just need to find a photo-place. The problem with my Mum's small town here in Ontario is that the guy who owned BOTH photography stores in town just recently died, so there's a dearth of photo-places in town now.

Btw, are you still going on one of the official location tours? 'Cause I've got a spot free in my car for Monday after the con for my little location hunt and you're more than welcome to come along. :D

I've still got a spot on the official location tour on Monday, but thanks for thinking of me! I was originally going to sell it, but then the temptation was too great to just keep it. :P

Did you get my email about the Angel photo? Do you think you'll be able to whip something up for me? I'll be bringing the photos I make as well, imperfect as they are...so hopefully between everything I'll be able to find stuff that works.

I really thought I'd have more time to prepare for this Con, but I'm being run off my feet! Speaking of which, I've got to go pack. I'm supposed to be leaving for Toronto in 40 minutes. It's a good thing there's free wifi once I get there. :P

Oh man, I am so tired right now, I'm worried I may NOT have enough energy for the Convention after all this. I will have to hope that the excitement keeps me conscious. :P

I approve of your choices. I would seriously consider doing them on photo paper though. They'll look better and last longer. I think that western pic is the one I wound up getting signed by Jensen. XD That black and white of Jared is awesome! I am jealous.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing about photo-paper. At least this way, I could see them all printed and large, so that I could decide which ones I wanted signed. :)

Hopefully I'll be able to find time before the Con to get them reprinted on better paper.
