Unique T-Shirts (or Sam's T-Shirts)

I will not be counting the numerous white, shades of grey, or black, t-shirts that the boys constantly wear, because I’m sure they are like my friends and just go to a department store and by a bulk bag of 10 t-shirts that are all indiscernible from each other.

Back in S1, Sam had several unique T-shirt (both short and long-sleeved) that were recognizable. Slowly, they disappeared to be replaced with the numerous nondescript T-shirts in varying shades of grey, black, and white. There was also a notable change from crew-neck to v-neck (as Sam grew in muscle-mass). Below is the meager record of what were Sam's more unique T's...

Sam's Blurry Blue and White Plaid


A new blue plaid shirt for Season 10 – this one emphasizes the vertical stripes. The blue is graduated in such a way that it kinda makes your vision feel blurry. It has a left breast pocket, but seemingly no right breast pocket. It does up with white buttons.

APPEARANCES:

In Fan Fiction (10x05), Sam wears this during the play performance and on until the end of the episode.

This shirt is very similar to Sam’s S9 Grey-Blue Plaid, but unfortunately for me, the plaid patterning is different enough, that I have to make a whole other entry for it. Listen, I like Blue Plaid, I do, but how many blue plaid shirts does one character need? In anycase, this plaid appears to be blue and appears to do up with snaps.

APPEARANCES:

In Hibbing 911 (10x08), Sam changes into this shirt after Donna learns about vampires and he and Dean can drop the FBI facade. He wears it until the end of the episode.

This shirt is similar to Sam’s Greyish-Greenish Silver-Snap Shirt, but this one has extra seams that run from the mid-breast pockets to the shoulders, and also down the back. It looks blue in bright light and green in dark lighting. It’s also got thick centre seams on the breast pockets.

Appearances:

In There’s No Place Like Home (10x11), Sam wears this shirt when he and Dean are staking out the District Attorney’s house, waiting for Charlie to strike. He wears it until he and Good!Charlie leave to go back to the Bunker.

In Inside Man (10x17), Sam wears this shirt from the morning after Dean’s nightmare until he and Cas deal with Metatron. He changes his shirt before he goes home at the end of the episode.

This is shirt with a very fine plaid on it. It’s grey, with tiny white plaid. It has two breast pockets with flaps.

In The Werther Project (10x19), Sam wears this shirt to investigate the house in St. Louis that contains the Werther Box. He wears it until they leave St. Louis.

In The Werther Project (10x19), Sam first wears this shirt when he brings Rowena to the codex at the end of the episode and then locks her up there.

Sam is killing me here with all these different blue plaids. This one has a light counter-colour of either gold or brown that runs through it too. The counter colour roughly falls in four stripes down the vertical front of the shirt, and more along the horizontal. It does up with white snaps.

APPEARANCES:

In Brother’s Keeper (10x23), Sam wears this shirt when he is making bullets in the beginning of the episode, and then when he and Cas go to speak with Rowena. He changes into a suit after he gets the call from Rudy about where Dean is.

There’s a western-style cut to the two front pockets of this green shirt, which both sit on an subtle angle, rather than lying straight across the chest. Other than that, it has multiple decorative seams and does up with snaps, not buttons, which isn’t Dean’s usual preference.

APPEARANCES:

In Girls Girls Girls (10x07), Dean wears this shirt from the beginning of the episode until after they find the corpse of the demon at the brothel.

In The Things They Carried (10x15), Dean wears this shirt at the beginning of the episode when he convinces Sam to go on the case.

In Brother’s Keeper (10x23), Dean wears this shirt when he goes to the vamp nest and gets Rudy killed.

Yet another uncharacteristic western shirt for Dean in S10 – this one is dark blue, does up with snaps, and has breast pockets with double-pointed pocket flaps. The shoulders also have a western cut seam across them.

In Angel Heart (10x20), Dean wears this shirt from the beginning of the episode until Claire’s mother dies.

This plaid shirt is predominately a nice lavender colour. It looks flannel and has one breast pocket. It does up with buttons. Some fans call it the Bisexual Plaid, because it’s the colours of the Bi Pride flag! Yay Bi Pride!

In The Things We Left Behind (10x09), Dean wears this shirt from when he and Sam meet up with Cas until the end of the episode.

In The Executioner’s Song (10x14), Dean wears this shirt when he and Sam are at the food truck and Cas calls about finding Cain’s graveyard.

In The Prisoner (10x22), Dean wears this shirt when he calls Rudy and begins to track down the Stynes after Charlie’s funeral.

This plaid shirt is in autumn colours. It's nice! It has the plaid running diagonally across the shoulders and on the breast pocket flaps.  It does up with buttons.

BRAND: It looks like a Windriver shirt to me!

Appearances:

In the Hunter Games (10x10), Dean wears this shirt for nearly the entire episode. He only wears something different for the very end scene when he goes to meet Claire.

In About a Boy (10x12), this is one of three shirts that we see Dean wearing during the montage of him researching at the beginning of the episode.

In Book of the Damed (10x18), Dean is wearing this shirt at the very end of the episode, when he returns with pizza and then he, Sam, Cas, and Charlie all hang out and eat pizza.

In The Werther Project (10x19), Dean is wearing this shirt at the beginning of the episode when he has just slaughtered all the vampires. He changes out of it once he’s back at the bunker, most likely because it is gross with vampire blood.

This shirt is a very bright orangey-red. It’s got a strip of blue on the inside of the collar. It does up with black buttons. It’s go a nearly invisible breast pocket as well. Some fans, along with Dean's Red Carhartt, refer to this shirt as Dean's "Murder Shirt", but it's mostly because they confuse the two.

In the Hunter Games (10x10), Dean wears this shirt at the end of the episode when he goes to meet with Claire.

In Inside Man (10x17), Dean wears this shirt the morning after his nightmare, until he goes home from his adventures at the local bar.

This shirt is hard to see. It does up with snaps and has diagonal plaid along the upper-snap line. It seems to be a very blue plaid when we see it close up, but from slightly further back, it appears more brown and white. There are highlights of red throughout.

In There’s No Place Like Home (10x11), Dean wears this shirt from when he goes to try to protect the salesman from Dark!Charlie, until Charlie’s two halves are reunited.

In The Things They Carried (10x15), this might be the shirt that Dean is wearing in the car while they drive to the case.

This shirt is cut in the western style, does up with snaps, and is a very bold orange and blue plaid. Some might think it’s red, but I’ve actually held this shirt in my hands, and to me it looks very orange.

In About a Boy (10x12), this is one of three shirts that we see Dean wearing in the research montage at the beginning of the episode – he is wearing it when Sam comes into his room to tell him about the case and persuade him to leave the bunker.

In The Executioner’s Song (10x14), Dean wears this shirt at the end of the episode, when he is hiding how much killing Cain has affected him.

In The Werther Project (10x19), Dean is wearing this shirt when he arrives in St. Louis to join Sam on his hunt, much to Sam’s surprise.
