Things like THIS make me depressed because they are true.

Which is why I really want my friend to come with me to VanCon this year, so that she can hopefully ask one non-vapid question...even if no one knows how to answer it. (My friend is hella smart, folks, and ponders things like constructions of masculinity.) (Do people say "hella" anymore, or was that an early 2000s thing that only I still do?)

In other related news - and because I had a great time at last year's con - I broke down and just went ahead and bought a silver ticket and even some photo-ops. Because I am crazy like that. 

Now I just need to figure out how to make more money...while still quitting my good-paying job (because it may be good-paying, but I'd gladly sacrifice that money not to have my soul sucked out of me. I'm sure Sam and Dean would agree that soul-sucking should be avoided at all costs.)

Anyway, yeah, the game might be crooked, but it's the only game in town, so you might as well smile while you play...

I couldn't think of any questions, either, or do any documentation. Maybe some would say I'm doing in wrong, but I just had such fun taking everything in.

I just ordered a silver ticket yesterday - I'm hoping to wait and buy a gold one off of someone but seats were filling up so quick. If I do get a chance to upgrade, hopefully I can sell the silver one easily enough.

I'm excited, too! I met a couple people on my flist at this con, but the more the merrier! It's so cool to put a face to a name. :)

I'll be looking for a cheap silver ticket closer to the con for my friend. I'm not sure what her budget is yet though. If I get a chance to upgrade, I may also take it though, and just give her my silver...but we'll see.

I take notes at the Con, but I mainly just do it because sometimes I get nervous in large crowds or in prolonged social situations and it helps to calm me down a little to have something to focus on. It just has the nice side-effect of making it really easy to write up reports at the end of the day :P

I decided not to bother with pictures though, because I just wanted to enjoy myself and not worry about focus or holding my hands steady or getting caught taking videos. I don't think there's a wrong way to do it, as long as you are having a good time. If you AREN'T having a good time, then you're doing it wrong. ;)
