Next Vile Violent Vacations chapter postponed possibly

Hey guys,

I don't think I'm going to make the update this Wednesday. I'm 1,000 words behind on making my writing quota this week - and I think I have to rewrite the 700 words I wrote today from a different POV, because I'm just not feeling it the way it is. 

Also, tomorrow is my birthday, so I'm not going to get much writing time because I'm going out to celebrate and stuff...in Yaletown! Yay!

Anyway, we'll see, we'll see...I'd hate to miss a week...I COULD post a chapter, but then my buffer would only be 1.5 chapters....and that leads to MISTAKES. (Seriously, I already made one with the two chapter buffer, but thankfully nobody noticed...and I was sort of able to go back and fix it a little bit...I'll probably fix it more later, actually.)

If I don't post a chapter, would anyone be interested in seeing "behind the scenes" stuff? Like...the original outline from Damned Demented Demons, or some scrapped scene variations from the first few chapters of Vile Violent Vacations? I don't want to leave you guys unentertained!

Sigh...if only I didn't have to work for a living...

Anyway, yeah, this is your warning that there might not be an update...either way, I'll post something on wednesday (either a note explaining that I had to take a week off) or a chapter (but at this point it's looking a little unlikely.)

Though I feel a bit sorry for the kid. Can you imagine being a teenager with misha collins for a dad? That would SUCK! I mean, he's just too cool. The only thing worse than having an insufferable embarrassing parent (as every teenager thinks about their parents at that age) would be having one that's cooler than you are.

I'm thinking some people might be SHOCKED by my outline...haha...and I do have a few deleted bits. It'd give people a good insider look at my "process" ;)

And yes, it'll be very difficult to grow up with that cool of a father. He'll constantly have his friends tell him how cool his folks are in comparison to theirs and he'll never feel like he can really complain even when he wants to!

it reminds me of a skit I heard on NPR from something that had been on cable, about some kid suffering from the coolest dad in the world. I mean, he makes a big deal about smoking, and his dad bums a cigarette off him. He makes a big deal about rock stars and drugs or something, with a crack about bob dylan, and his dad says, "Son, do you know who bob dylan is?"

And the kid says, "no! But your're going to tell me he died of drugs, right, Daad?"

ANd the dad says, "Bob Dylan's alive. I produced his last four albums."

and the kid says, "Oh, uncle robert?"

Just wanted to say that those extras sounded fantastic, but don't feel too pressured; you don't owe us anything. Not to say we don't appreciate prompt updates, but I think we can be more than understanding of a delay or postponement.

I'll try not to stress out too much. Taking a week off might be good in the long run, because then I might be able to increase my buffer to the point where I'm not just barely making my deadline every week...one can dream anyway!

And yes I think that might be the second most adorable baby ever (right behind my son)...

I think it's decided that I'll take some time this afternoon to prepare a little post of "behind the scenes" stuff for you guys for tomorrow, and I'll give myself an extra weekend to get the next few chapters the way I want them.

I promise there will be a proper chapter next week though! I wouldn't want you to go into withdrawal! ;)
