Clothes, Harry Potter...and podcasts

Ok, first I want to talk about Harry Potter...

I know, I know...not Supernatural. My apologies...but this has something slight to do with my SPN/HP crossover. So, indulge me, please...

What house do you think Teddy Lupin would have been sorted into? (His Mum was in Hufflepuff, his Dad was a Griffyndor (I don't know how to spell Gryffindor).

I realised that in Harry Potter, the story of the invisibility cloak states that it was actually DEATH'S invisibility cloak first - totally cool possible tie in with Supernatural, eh? Too bad I only thought of it now and I can't work it in, so I'm just going to ignore it! Oh well.

In other news...

In my secret pointless Supernatural project. I have already spotted two continuity errors in wardrobe in S1. I'm telling you, I think I've missed my calling as a continuity person in television. Too bad I'm too lazy to get into the film industry.

I've been listening to podcasts while I work. I like FREE ones, and LONG ones. I listen to a Supernatural discussion podcast, and Mugglecast. The problem is that the Supernatural podcast is only updated once a week (for obvious reasons), and Mugglecast is infrequent. I need more podcasts! So, if any of you listen to podcasts out there, and in particular listen to LONG podcasts, and have some recommendations, let me know. Otherwise, if any of you have gotten any audiobooks from gutenberg.com (or other free sources) and want to recommend me a book, let me know. Basically, I need things to listen to. I realize this may be a shot in the dark, but I figured I give it a try.

I have to go back and check the book, but wasn't Teddy in Gryffindor? Or was it just me taking for granted that he was in Gryffindor to start with...

No, it never says what Teddy was sorted into. In the epilogue he is there to see Victoire off for her final year of school - and James is in Gryffindor, and Ron says he'll disinherit Rose if she's not sorted into Gryffindor (which to me would indicate that all her older Weasley cousins were sorted into Gryffindor, but that doesn't necessarily mean Teddy was...)

Huh, reading the epilogue again, I've noticed that if Teddy were to live at Harry's house James and Albus would have to share a room - I'm pretty sure 12 Grimmauld Place has more rooms than that...perhaps Harry doesn't live there. Ah well, he's going to in my story!

This American Life. I know NPR throws some people off, but TAL always talks about really interesting things, and if one story you're hearing isn't your cup of tea, well, there will be a next one (there's usually two-four of them a night) and that will probably be cool.

It's taken many subjects I was never into and made something worth listening to out of them, but the only one I can think of is the recent banking crisis. (My SISTER liked that one!)

I think they're still free, but if not, I'm sure you can limewire them or something. AND sorry if this is a show you're already familiar with/already really like/already podcast, but if not, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

Car Talk and Prairie Home Companion are also fun. ♥

Sorry if this was unclear. They're not news stories always. Some of them are kind of journalism-esque, but there are also really personal stories, about families and pets and relationships etc.

Thanks! I think NPR is the American (non-gov't sponsored) version of our CBC - and I listen to a lot of CBC stuff, so I'm sure NPR will have interesting things too.

Actually, I used to listen to Car Talk when I was visiting my friend in New Brunswick and it was hilarious! So, I'll definitely see if I can find podcasts of it.

Thanks for the other recs too. Being a Canadian, I sort of take the CBC for granted...but I'm not sure I've actually listened to Definitely Not the Opera - so, I'll give it a try too.

I am, mildly interested in psychology, so that one will be interesting to check out as well. Cool stuff.

Teddy's House plus some

I do believe that Rowling had placed Teddy in Hufflepuff like his mother, I just can't remember the source.

Also, there are probably 7 rooms in Grimauld, since I don't believe that the Weasely parents moved between houses in book 5. So, one for the parents, one for Sirius, one for the Twins, one for the girls, one for the boys, Regulus's old room was left alone I think, and there might be one more room for guests. It is likely that the Blacks had a fair number of guest rooms, being wealthy and all that.

Cool, let me know if that source ever comes to you - but yeah, I was sort of thinking that there are enough Gryffindors in Harry's crew already. It might be nice to place Teddy in a different house. The neat thing about Hufflepuff too is that the common room/dorms were never described in the books, so I've got artistic license there.

And awesome about Grimmauld, because I counted seven rooms too.
