Un-useable Ideas

Last night I had a dream that would actually be an awesome storyline....for an AU RPS. So, since I refuse to write RPS, it will remain unused. It's just as well, given that I have way too much on my plate right now to consider adding to it.

Still, sort of frustrating when I come up with a good idea (or, a relatively good idea with some work) and I can't use it due to self-imposed rules. So, if there is anyone on my flist that writes RPS, let me know and I'll tell you the idea. It'd most likely be a High School AU with some h/c overtones.

I'm really tempted to be all "gimme" because I have no shame and there's nothing more intriging than someone saying I've got this really good idea. But (and that's a big but) I've never really had much luck writing to other people's outlines. Shrugs. It would be an interesting experiment.

Well, if it reassures you at all, it's not that specific an outline. Just a general idea with lots of freedom for specifics. Anyway, think about it and let me know if you want me to PM the idea to you. No pressure.

this is my usual question in regards to RPF AU, but why not just write it as original fiction?

Well, I could, and believe me, I had that thought too. The problem really is that I just have so many writing projects on the go, I'm not sure I'd get to it. Not to mention the fact that it's really an internet-slash type of story, and although I COULD post it here with the warning that unlike everything else on my journal it is slash...well, the sad thing is that I'm not sure anyone would be interested in original fiction.

Anyway, I may still write it (as original fiction) for fun, but I wouldn't be doing it any time soon - so I just figured I would offer the idea up in case anyone was interested.
