I'm having a sucky week. Can't seem to get my head together for work - can't seem to get my head together for writing. My sister is on reading/Olympics break and, as much as I love her, I miss having the house to myself at least 3 days of the week. (She's out today though, which is nice.)

It's ridiculously sunny here, I just want to jump in my car and drive someplace - but, because I haven't been able to get my head together for work, I owe them like 40 billion hours.

Now, that all being said...I feel like communicating with people in written form. So, here's your challenge (if you've read this far):

Leave me a prompt or question about Supernatural in the comments - you can ask my thoughts on a particular character/event/issue, ask me to explain away a particular plot-hole, or prompt me with something ridiculous like "what do you think would happen if Sam was turned into a kitten?" (Except, don't ask me that, because my only response would be: "CUDDLES!")

Or alternatively, you could ask me something about myself.

This will hopefully cheer me up and satisfy my craving for contact with the outside world.

...though, now I'm really craving cuddles with kitten!Sammy. Ah kitten!Sammy, are there any ills of the world you can't solve? (please note: kitten!Dean can also solve the world's ills, but be careful, he bites!)

PS: You can ask me questions about Harry Potter, but don't prompt Harry Potter/Supernatural crossover stuff. I'm busy working on another installment for my demented!verse, and I want to use this post as a little break from that.

Besides, we'd be going with eyes wide open - I don't know about you, but I've had the exorcism they do on Show memorized for going on two years now.

And we could always take our DVDs and companion books with us for more intel - we wouldn't even need a journal!

Haha, ok! You've sold me. :-)

Bad knees be damned...I'll just be so good that I'll never have to run. ;-)

Bwuhahahaha.

Now that I've sold you on the concept, would you believe I've been working on writing this monstrosity into existence? Writing myself into their universe, I mean. I started working on it back during the multitude of breaks in S3, so by now it's way-way-AU and I don't want to start posting until I've gotten it finished. It's sitting at 105,274 words and I'm only about a sixth of the way through my planned tale.

Oh man! Good luck with that!

You have to be careful when you are writing yourself into something, that you don't turn yourself into a Mary Sue. I'd never attempt it - it's too alluring to write yourself without faults. :-P

Good luck though...that's longer than my HP/SPN epic!

I hate Mary Sues. I wrote myself as true to my own personality as possible - yeah, it was harder than fuckall, but I think I did good - and only changed a few minor details (I couldn't help but write myself as living the life I wish I'd had when I started the fic and I changed my last name to keep the stalking to a minimum). I kept my short hair (though it's bright pink in real life, I kept it to my natural light blonde in the story), my general level of klutziness, and the fact that I'm really not all that beautiful (I mean, I'm not horribly disfigured or anything, just not likely to ever turn heads without the aid of Hot Topic). I kept in as many of my faults as I could - like how I've still got scars from my cutting days in college (though I moved where they are - IRL, they're on my legs, in the story, I put them on my arms) and how I can out-cuss a sailor when the mood strikes. I also stayed as true to my general level of stubbornness as I could...

Yeah, all that makes it rather heavy on the me!bits of the tale to start out with, but when I finally get it done, everyone reading it will already know the boys - they don't know me.

I hope I manage to finish it before the end of this summer, but the more I work on it, the more ideas surface... Sigh. Maybe I should just finish out the first arc of my story and post it, then do a sequel? Hmm...the thought has merit...but that would mean I'd have to find some other title for now (I'd finally settled on 'White Rabbit', and have been using the song lyrics as chapter titles - the story itself is very much a retelling of 'Through the Looking Glass')...

Any ideas?

Cool, yeah, I didn't figure you to be the type to write yourself as a Mary Sue - I just mentioned it as the danger (and why I don't do it...I have too high an opinion of myself, bad knees and fear of spiders aside).

Anyway, as for your story...I think it might be better to publish it in segments. I think people are more likely to read a 30 chapter fic than a 60 chapter one...let alone a 90+ chapter one. If there IS a good place to break it up anyway...

You should be pretty impressed with yourself for writing so much though! That's awesome. It's a fun premise too!

Did I fail to mention that I'm only partway through chapter eleven with that word count? My chapters on this one have been averaging 25 pages or so each.

Dude...sorry, I was measuring by MY chapter lengths. (LJ chapters)

Geez...I think even my novel chapters are only 17 pages each.

Meh, no matter. I usually stick to chapter lengths of 7-12 pages, but this tale... It's something else entirely.
