Remembrance Day Comment-Fic-Meme!
Nov. 10th, 2009 11:20 pmUp here in Canadaland, Nov. 11 is Remembrance Day - which means I don't have to work! So, in honour of all those who fought for my country in wars and whatnot, I'm going to spend the day writing fanfiction.
And you, dear flist, are going to give me prompts!
WHAT TO DO: Leave me a prompt in comments! I will write a little drabble to fulfil it.
RULES:
1. I only write Gen.
2. I don't watch much TV, so if you suggest crossovers, I might not have the knowledge to do it.
3. For those of you who friended me based on my Harry Potter/Supernatural crossover. You CAN prompt me to write with the Harry Potter characters; HOWEVER, if it is already a scene that I'm working on for the sequel, I may refuse the request, because I don't want to spoil the surprise...or I may still write it, but not set it in the Damned Demented Demon 'verse.
4. You can prompt until the end of Nov. 11th (in whatever time zone you are in.)
PROMPT AWAY!
PS: I'll feel really pathetic if nobody prompts. I've been jazzing myself up to do this for a whole week.

Date: 2009-11-14 12:56 am (UTC)"What?"
"He'll have a whiskey, neat."
"Sure thing."
"That's not what I-"
"Just drink your whiskey."
Dean surveyed the crowded bar. He wondered how long Sam and Harry were going to be...or exactly what they were up to. He wondered if he could use the spare time to his advantage, even though Harry had given him an odd "watch out for Draco" look before he left.
"Hey Drake, you ever hustle pool?" Dean asked, thankful that Draco hadn't argued the whiskey.
"I have never hustled anything," Draco said dismissively, as though hustling anything was beneath him.
"Have you ever played pool?" Dean asked - maybe they could at least get a friendly game in, something to waste the time.
"It's a Muggle game," Draco answered.
"I'll take that as a no then," Dean said, "you want me to teach you?"
"Please, hit the white ball into the other balls to get them in the pockets. It looks straight-forward enough," Draco said.
"Fine then, Mr. I-know-everything, let's have a game." Dean walked over to the closest table and put money down to reserve next game. All the tables were occupied, but the game on this one was nearly over.
They watched a few shots, before Draco opened his big mouth.
"So, you usually bet on these games?" Draco asked, and Dean wasn't sure what to make of his tone.
"Yeah, if you're playing against someone willing to bet."
"How much, because I bet I could beat anybody," Draco replied condescendingly. The two guys currently playing the table looked Draco over in mild interest, but then pretended they weren't paying attention.
"You've never even played before," Dean sighed, "and you know, you wouldn't be able to...um...cheat, in anyway."
"I wouldn't need to," Draco said, and Dean knew that Draco understood that he couldn't use magic. "There's nothing I'm not good at. I'm a Malfoy. Malfoys don't have to cheat, we were born superior by default."
Dean nearly choked on his beer at Draco's condescending drawl. It left him speechless.
"You think you're that good buddy?" One of the pool players said, "You really think you could take one of us without ever having played before...because I'd put money on that game."
The guy was laughing at him, but Dean watched amazed as Draco just smiled slowly.
"It's a bet then."

When Sam and Harry made it back to the bar, Dean and Draco were waiting for them outside. Draco was counting money, and Dean was looking at him as though he had two heads.
"Uh, guys..what's up?" Sam asked, seeing the look on Dean's face.
"Drake's a secret pool shark," Dean answered.
"Actually, I'm not," Draco replied grinning, "I cheated."
"What? But what about that speech about being born superior..." Dean said confused. Harry snorted a laugh, but it was Draco that answered.
"If there's one thing I learned from going to school with Harry," Draco began, "it's that no one can resist trying to knock someone off their high horse."
Harry laughed again and shook his head.
"Different tactic than the one I used when I hustled pool with Dean, I'll give you that much," Harry said.
"You went the clueless foreigner route, didn't you?" Draco said, rolling his eyes. Harry nodded. "So predictable, Potter."
"Same to you, Malfoy," Harry said.
"Drake...I never have any idea what to make of you," Dean muttered, shaking his head.
"I prefer it that way," Draco replied, "now for the love of God, stop calling me that ridiculous nickname."

Re: Draco Hustles Pool
Date: 2009-11-14 01:45 am (UTC)I am definitely cooking up a sequel to DDD. So far there's not much plot to it though, so it might end up being more of an odd timestamp or something, we'll see.
