hells_half_acreThere aren't actually any spoilers in this post, but I'm still going to put it behind a read more - just for those of you who don't want other people's opinions in your head before watching a film....
I've decided that I'm not going to watch Endgame. Which means that I'm not going to watch Infinity War either.
I read a synopsis of the plot - and, yeah, no. I'm not saying it's bad - I can't judge that from a plot synopsis. I'm sure it's a fine film, but it made me realize that it's not Superhero movies that I like, it's optimistic open endings. When you have a conclusion, when you have a "and then this is how the rest of their life went" or "and this was the end of all adventures" I just don't like it.
The film also uses a plot device that I personally hate.
And also, basically puts an end to all the types fics in the MCU that I like to read. I know that people will still be writing those fics (thank you fic writers!) but they're all now DECIDEDLY AU.
Anyway, yeah.... that's the decision. I hope those of you who like Marvel and plan to see the film enjoy it! I'm going to continue living in my alternate universe where the last stories in the MCU (chronologically) are Ragnorak, Black Panther, and Home-Coming. ... I mean, I'd back up as far as Winter Soldier, truth be told.... maybe I'll live in an AU where Bucky ended up armless in Wakanda some other way and Tony Stark met Peter some other way too... and Bruce ended up in Space some strange way as well. :P
