So, what do you think of my new layout? Too much red?

I've been debating making the links the same colour as the visited links (ie, switching the links to the darker red), because I'm wondering if the red I choose for non-visited links is too bright. I'd then change the visited links to something else.

I should really start writing again, instead of spending my time obsessing over things that don't really matter all that much.

Still...let me know what you think!

The darker burgundy color that you used for your subject line would look better than the brighter red you used for the links and tags, but I definitely love the new layout--the pic is great!
