in other news... June is over, YAY! June was not the best month I've ever had. I'm not saying that it was ALL horrible, but 90% of the time, it was no entirely pleasant.

First by accident, and then on purpose, I decided to not write anything in June. I think this was actually a brilliant decision, because - while I didn't force myself to write when I didn't feel like it - I also forced myself NOT to write when I DID feel like it. Which means that the desire to write has been building up under my skin like an unsatisfied vice.... and instead of being sick of all my stories and thinking they're probably horrible, I am instead EAGER to write them (even though they might be horrible.)

So, Happy Canada Day! And here's to July being better. :)

In the meantime - let me know what kinda quality content you want to see on here over the summer? Is there any sort of post you wish I'd do more of?

I'm fine with reaction-to-writing posts! It's RARE that we get to see you rant! ;) I always appreciate your positivity. But I do wonder sometimes what gets under your skin! Which is why your Least Favorite SPN Episode List was such a treat, even though you promptly balanced it out with your favorites. ;)

Let's see...I know I've heard you get mildly irritated about underrepresentation of characters who are not white and/or straight. And humor that doesn't land, and consent issues (I remember from Swap Meat...haha). And failure to appropriately wrap up all conflicts. What else am I missing? ;)

Always gotta balance out the negativity with something positive ;)

If you're looking for things that piss me off, a lot of the times I completely forget what they are until they come up... but, if you want SPN specific, I'm really annoyed by them rewriting how reapers work (ie: turning them into a form of angel).

Other than that, I think you got a pretty solid list there. :)

Oh, and I also get annoyed when people kill characters JUST for emotional shock, and for no other plot reason than that. If you don't have to kill someone, don't, unless you're specifically writing a story like All Quiet on the Western Front or something equally about the pointlessness of war and the many meaningless deaths it causes. But that's a specific to me thing - I know some people might argue that you should always have pointless deaths because it reflects reality or whatever... but goddamn it, I like happy things!

Anyway, I'll keep in mind that you like my rants too. ;)
