Man, I wanted to do a double update of Damned Demented Demons this week, but I can't seem to find the time to write.

I need to keep my job, so I guess it's a good thing my connection is better here, but I miss the days back in Ontario when it took five minutes for my work applications to do ANYTHING and while I waited I could write. Sure, I was getting into trouble for having low productivity, but I was able to update my SPN/HP fic twice a week! It was sweet. Chapters 4-25 were basically written in 5 minutes-of-writing incriments. Now I actually have to set aside time to write, and that's been a little harder than I anticipated. I'm still able to get one update in a week so far, but I really wish I could get two.

I was recced over at [livejournal.com profile] spngenlove today for my SPN/HP story! I think it was [livejournal.com profile] claudiapriscus that recced me...THANKS! Your comments were very kind! They also gave me an amusing summary for my story! Haha, I don't know who was behind that, but I love it! It's one thing I realized the other day that I don't have - an overarching summary. I figure that once I'm done the story (which should be another five chapters or so - the end is in sight, though I still haven't written it), I'll write up a Master Post for it and then figure out a good over-all summary.

Anyway, I've already got a few new readers out of the rec, I think! I'm excited. I love hearing from you guys. I've noticed that if I post on a Sunday, I don't get as many comments as if I post on a weekday...very odd. You'd think people would have more time on a Sunday. I know I do. It's about the only day I have to write. Usually what happens is I post a chapter and then write another chapter by the end of Sunday night, then sit on it for a week thinking that maybe if I write another chapter by Wednesday, I can do a double update week - but sadly I haven't been able to pull that off. I'm always at least two chapters ahead in writing from whatever I post. This is so that I can hopefully catch plot-holes before I post the chapter - it's an interesting process with these later chapters, because when I started the story, I figured it would end after the Ministry, so the stuff I'm writing now is all stuff that I started thinking about AFTER Chapter 14 or so.

I'm a little bummed that I don't have the time to write - mind you, yesterday when my internet went out and I couldn't do my job, I COULD have written, but instead I decided to do more of my S4 Rewatch. That's largely because the TV/DVD player is in my sister's room, and the only time she's not in there watching TV herself is when she's at class - during the day, while I'm working...so, yeah.

But, yeah...my goal is to wrap up Damned Demented Demons sometime next month. Then take a few months off writing crazy epic stories...and then sometime between January and March 2010, start writing a sequel - which will hopefully be shorter, because damn, but I've been writing this thing since March!

Hopefully though, in between my epic and it's sequel, I can find time to write some more one-shots. I've been sitting on an idea for a Teen!chester fic for a while now, but I don't have any time to devote to it...and unlike my other one-shots, it's going to take a bit more planning.

But seriously, how do people find time to do stuff? It seems like I finally have a few minutes to myself to get stuff done, and then I realize that it's after midnight and I'm exhausted.

Speaking of which...

(Love the icon, btw)

The only reason I could write 5 min increments is because my job is boring, so between the 5 minute writing sessions it was very easy to keep what I was doing in my head, and think about what I wanted to say next. These days, it's just a horrible tease, because I STILL have the mental-time during work to think about what I'd like to write, but I don't have the physical-time to actually write it.

And no worries! I actually don't like reading WIPs either. I'm close to being done now, but I haven't written the end...when I do, I'll let you know ;-) Don't let the amount of chapters scare you, it's mostly dialogue, which takes up a lot of space and is quick to read. Also, I don't expect anyone to read this in one sitting!

Ugh, that sucks. Boring work is the worst. How is everything working out in Vancouver though? Are you glad you made the move?

Hehe, okies! :)

Everything is working out great in Vancouver! My room/apartment is kick-ass, I live in a great neighbourhood...I think I'm losing weight...

So, yes, I'm very glad I made the move. There are a couple of concerns of course - money is tighter out here: I have more expenses and Vancouver on a whole is crazy expensive (for Canada).

Susie annoys me sometimes, but that's family for you. But on a whole I get along far better living with her than I would most anyone else, so really I shouldn't complain. :-)

Vancouver is pretty awesome - we'll see if I still feel that way when we're in the depths of the rainy-season, but I've still got a month or so before that hits. ;-)

That's brilliant! I'm really glad to hear it's working out.

Money would be tighter, but that's how it always is after a move. Takes some time to make up for the initial cost of the move and to get established etc.

Yes, that's really just a younger sibling's job. ~_^

True. London is a bit miserable in winter too, but every city has its downsides! As long as the pros outweigh the cons then you're good to go.
