How's everyone doing?

I'm having a busy summer. I don't think I'm going to be getting anything fandom-related done until I get back to Vancouver in mid-August... so this journal might end up being a little dead for a bit.

I don't really have anything besides that to say... so ,yeah, hope you all are well.

I guess this is your bi-weekly, "Hey, how's it going?" hiatus post.

Now you have made me curious!

Anytime after the next 2 weeks I will have lots of time. My kids and grandkid are visiting until Aug. 7...and after they leave I will need something to look forward to!

There's a call to submissions for short-stories, and I was thinking I'd try to write something for it. It's due August 14th though (which also happens to be the day I fly back to Vancouver), and I'm so busy between now and then, I'm not sure it's going to happen.

Anyway, you've been the best beta that I've had so far when it comes to condensing and clarifying my overly wordy sentences - and since the word count has to be no greater than 7k, I could really use that!

But, like I said, I'm not sure when/if I'm going to have the time to write - so, I'll let you know. I already told my BFF about the story idea though, and he wants to read it regardless of whether I get it done in time to submit it... so, even if I miss the deadline, I'll probably still write it.

It's actually been amazingly pleasant here! I guess all the hot weather has been hanging out on the West Coast. Though, I'm glad to hear that it's cooling off there.

Hey, I hate to bother you while you're on vacation, but I've got a location question for you...

You know all that filming Phil did w/the Impala & Jensen & Jared's doubles at the end of last season? The scenes we're now seeing in almost every ep that's more dry desert instead of green trees? Do you know where those were filmed at? I'm thinking Kelowna, but I'm not sure.

I wouldn't be able to tell you exact locations - but definitely the Okanagan SOMEWHERE. So, the outskirts of Kelowna is a pretty safe bet. You'd have to get someone one a little more familiar with the Okanagan to get any more specific. I do have a friend from there on twitter, so I could ask if she recognized any specific locations - for the most part though, it seems to be mostly scenery without buildings, and that's harder to pin down.

But yeah, those scenes are definitely Okanagan Valley.

Yeah, I've been searching for street signs, but the ones I've seen I can't read. Grrrr.
There's been a few motels. Maybe those would be easier to recognize?

I'm on staycation, so I've been catching up on fics - not going very well :)

I'm on a quasi-staycation, because, while I'm not in Vancouver, I'm just at my family's places in Ontario where they feed and house me. :P

Except, that then I spend all my time visiting with them and helping them with home-repair, and I'm hardly ever on my computer to get anything done!

I hope you are able to catch up on some good fics before your staycation is over!
