Happy Birthday Dean!

Usually, I do a This Day in Supernatural-Universe History entry for a birthday....

So, yesterday, on my day off, instead of doing a rewatch, I timelined the last three episodes in the hopes of figuring out where Dean spent his birthday this year....

Only to discover that I don't know where Dean is on his birthday in S9, because as far as I can tell, they haven't gotten there yet.

So, Happy Birthday Dean! I hope by the time your birthday rolls around, things are going better for you then they currently are...but then, this is Supernatural, so that's unlikely.

For those wondering how old Dean is, he's either 35, 37, 75, 77, or he could be 36 depending on how you view the physics of Purgatory.

Ive resigned myself to him being 35! Lol. I also think his b day hasnt happened yet. Not too many weeks passed in the first few episodes. Its still fall there...

Exactly, and I know 9x09 took place in 2013, so we can't be at 2014 yet because not enough time has passed since then either.

Despite the two skipped years, and Dean's time in Hell, I think the Show will always ignore those and have him be the 35, which is what I think of him as well.

I hope we do find out soon a better timeline as to where the show is in the calendar. Thanks to etoile44 for pointing out that not a lot of time has passed since the end of S8 and that they are, in the show, close in the calendar to where we are. I would hate to think that Dean spent his birthday alone and feeling like poison. Even though they probably don't celebrate birthdays anymore, I still don't like to think that Dean is alone on HIS day, especially given his current frame of mind. He needs his Sammy there with him.

As far as I can tell so far, they're probably in the fall of 2013 in the show. So, there's still time for Sam and Dean to reconcile before Dean's birthday...just as long as they don't do any crazy leap-forwards-in-time.

Definitely good to think that they are still in the fall of 2013. Let's hope they don't do any crazy leap forwards. Although, it would be interesting to have them go a couple months between last weeks episode and the new episode this Tuesday. Just so that we see that the brothers have spent a longer period of time away from each other, which I think would be beneficial for Sam, but not necessarily for Dean. The longer Dean is alone, the more I fear for him. It will be interesting to see how they are brought together in the next episode, and what the timeframe will be. In Season 7, when Sam left Dean at least the next episode there was a statement in there saying how long they were apart. Let's hope that happens this time as well.
