Weird kind of html-y LJ Question...

So, I was looking at my If Clothes Could Talk entries tonight and I realized that LJ made a change at some point that hurts those entries...

It used to be that if a picture was wider than the "frame" of my blog, it'd just bust out of it. Now, apparently, LJ is altering the picture and keeping it in the "frame" - which means that it gets squished and looks stupid.

Do you guys know what I'm talking about? I'm really sleepy right now. Basically, look at this entry: http://hells-half-acre.livejournal.com/183585.html and notice the second picture. It's all squishy! I don't want that!

I also don't want to change my LJ "theme" though... so, does anyone know how I can fix this? Any help would be appreciated.

I checked out the post along with the info. for the caps. Looks like LJ has resized the the caps to 705x480 which doesn't work.

You might try adjusting the size thusly:

img src="your image url" width="700" height="394"

Oh god, is there anyway to do one thing that changes all pictures? I REALLY don't want to go through 200 entries to adjust pictures all individually.

Thanks for the help though and the suggestion of better dimensions, at least I know one way to fix it, even if I dread doing the actual work of it.

Sorry. I think you'd have to copy & paste it in for any entries that have the problem. Maybe it's not all of them though? *hopes*

The only other option (and I see someone already mentioned it) is to see if you can change the dimensions of your layout and/or sidebar. What layout are you using?

Sadly, it would be all of them.

I can't seem to adjust the dimensions of this layout. The layout I'm using is Bookworm Grey, Mixit by Tiffany Chow. It doesn't give me many customization options at all... but I really like it... hence why I haven't changed it in years.

I don't know much about this stuff but, can you change your journal width so the picture fits?

With my journal style I can change the width here:

journal style -> customize your theme -> display -> presentation -> journal width(ex: 90) and unit of journal width(ex. %)

I can also change the width of the side bar if I want more room for the entries.

Sadly, the layout/theme I'm using doesn't seem to let me adjust width, of either the journall or the sidebar. Blah....

Thanks for trying to help! It seems I've just picked a really bad layout in the end and grown far too attached to it.

Yeah, I don't want to change it - so I guess I'll just go through by hand and individually un-squish all my pictures. Blah.
