Officially Unemployed!

My last day of work was yesterday. I am now officially unemployed.
This is a good thing, because I really couldn't stand my job anymore - either it had to go, or I did, basically. There's only so long that you can deal with both monotony AND crimes against humanity, and I drew the line at five years.
Now, the last time I tried to find a different job, it didn't work out so well and I had to go crawling back. Going crawling back isn't an option this time, so hopefully I find something else.
In the meantime, while I'm unemployed, I should HOPEFULLY have plenty of time to do a S8 rewatch and write things.
If anyone has any job leads in the Vancouver area (or the South/Eastern Ontario area, or the Montreal area, or the Germany area) let me know! From experience, it helps if you are the one actually doing the hiring and can give me an unfair advantage in the application/interview process. Nepotism is a huge problem in Canada and quite frankly, if you can't beat them, join them.
What are my qualifications? I can do anything. Unfortunately, this isn't reflected on my resume, so you'll have to take my word for it.

Date: 2013-10-01 11:49 pm (UTC)I'm optimistic about the furloughed Americans too though - I mean, they're just on hold at the moment, and I'd like to think that despite the clusterf*ck of politics down there, that the gov't will get it's shit together sooner rather than later, and then everyone can go back to work.
Anyway, we'll see how optimistic I am when I've been two months without work and my money is running out. :P

Date: 2013-10-02 06:29 pm (UTC)Sadly I'm in no position to hire you for anything :( Unless you want to temp as a cleaner at a trade fair in the Ruhr area, in wich case my husband might be able to find something for you...

I wouldn't know the first thing about work-visa rules anyway, I just figured I'd through that out there. I haven't spoken German very much in the past 10 years, and I feel like I've lost a lot of it (or all of it) - but I always did dream of maybe living there one day. :)

Date: 2013-10-30 12:18 am (UTC)I was sort of stuck between a rock and a hard place - because I really didn't think I had the ability to drag myself through another 6 month contract while being absolutely miserable, but I also know that unemployment is no fun.. so yeah, I went with unemployment, on the off chance that it would lead to something better sooner.
We'll see what happens next, I guess!
