I miss you guys...

There was no Supernatural this week, and I find that I kind of miss spending Thursday responding to your guys' comments.

And I don't have anything to talk about - so I figured I'd just list the stuff that I'm working on/am going to be working on in the near future. I'm not sure what I'll do next week when I miss you guys, but I do have to clear out my bookmarks, so maybe I'll do a rec post.

Anyway...

THINGS I AM WORKING ON:
(In order of priority I'll be working on them)

1. SPN/Merlin fic

I know, I've been writing this since friggin January or February or something... or maybe November. At this point, I can't remember. I am, however NEARLY done. The sad thing is that 95% of you will be horribly disappointed as it's far more Merlin story than Supernatural story, since I couldn't find a good place to slot it into Supernatural canon. So it takes place at some mythical time in S8 when Sam and Dean are good, and Cas isn't MIA. (Mind you, I could take Cas out entirely and set it before Trial and Error... but I kind of want to cram him in at the last second, as I am wont to do.)

2. Sassy Gen Fic

Screw the show, I want more Sam + Cas interaction. Seriously, they have the most awkward, yet strangely loyal and supportive, friendship ever... and I find it fascinating. Also, I'm still kind of pissed about how the Sam's Madness storyline was handled last year and I want to write fix-it fic. I'm fully expecting that this will be an entirely self-serving fic (much like my SPN/Merlin fic.)

3. Month of Daily Prompt Drabbles/Ficlets

I want to try writing for half an hour every single day for a month based on prompts that are beyond my control. I've already found the perfect prompting community over on DW, so I'm all set. I just actually have to pick a month. Note: I might chicken out and decide to do less than a month. Also, if this is going to happen, it needs to happen before July, because that's when life gets busy for me.

The way I envision this project is that I'll be writing in multiple 'verses and fandoms for the month, all depending on what 'verse/fandom the prompt makes me think of. This will include original fic 'verses... which will bring me to #5.

4. Unnamed huge SPN resource project that is going to take forever...

...especially if I keep not working on it. Sorry borgmama1of5 Seriously though, if I had kept on working on this everyday like I was doing back when I started, I would have been done by now. Instead I started writing fic again and decided that I didn't have time to work on this. Anyway, once I'm done with the first three items on this list, the goal is to start working on this project every day again.

5. I want to write a fantasy novel.

So, 10 years ago, my best friend couldn't remember the word "moth" (English is not his first language) - and I won't go into how that inspired me to come up with a setting/plot for an epic fantasy novel, but it did. Anyway, lately I've been listening to The Story Board playlist over on Geek and Sundry while I work my crappy job all day, and now I want to actually write the thing. This ordinarily wouldn't be a problem, except that I'm SUPPOSED to be fixing the first draft of the goddamn novel that I wrote last year, not writing a new completely different novel.

Anyway, I'm hoping that maybe if I do the month of daily prompts, I can get some of the urge to write this fantasy novel out there and then I can focus back on the novel that I've already written. Alternatively, and in addition, I'm hoping the month of prompts will also get me in the habit of writing every single day (like I used to do when I wrote the Demented'verse) and I can get super efficient at it and work on two novels at once...or maybe I'm a lunatic. :P

6. Other fic/Things I have promised that I've forgotten about.

I know people want more Demented'verse... and I've gotten a fair number of requests for more UnfortunateBrother'verse too - though, I'll probably stick to my guns about waiting for Sherlock S3 before I write more of that. Anyway, I just thought I'd put this item on here to say that I haven't forgotten the other stuff I've no doubt promised - it's only that I have! I'm sure I'll remember at some point though and actually do it.

Yay!

And yes - I need you to tell me where I went wrong with pacing/plot/whatever. Because I honestly do not think my novel climaxes nor resolves well at this point. No rush though, as I'm obviously not thinking much about it these days. :P

I was also thinking of taking you up on you offer to beta the Merlin/SPN fic. So, I'm just loading you down with work, I guess!

For myself, I like Merlin as much as SPN, so I'll be looking forward to it anyway. Same with the Sam+Cas fic - they don't get nearly enough screentime together and it could be so good to see what that part of their little team triangle is like without having to go through Dean.

What DW prompt comminity is that? After you talked about it last time I started poking at the meme prompt from tumblr and changing it to be better to set up a challenge for myself. I still haven't finished, so if this has good prompts I'd love to add them.

If this is the project I think it is, good luck! Seriously, not sarcastically; it'll be awesome.

It's different than the tumblr prompts that we were discussing before - in that it's more vague and open-ended. The tumblr prompts were fanfic specific, which was great, but I think I want to leave myself open to doing drabbles of original fic too, so I needed something more vague.

I'd be really interested to see how you eventually change the tumblr prompts though!

It IS the project that you're thinking of, and thanks! I'm a little less than half-way done the information gathering stage.

A somewhat slow reader sometimes, but yes. Thanks for the link! At the moment I've got only twelve that I'm happy with, and am trying to brainstorm good not-over-specific ones that would round it out and touch on enouch different types to be challenging. I'll let you know once I'm dong :)
