First Draft of Novel: DONE! *victory music plays*

I have successfully written a draft of an original fiction novel.

I feel like I should take myself out for cocktails, but sadly, I have no clean clothes and it's Sunday night.

Even if nothing ever comes of it, I feel pretty damn proud of myself.

So, yeah, this is me bragging. I rock.

Now I am going to NOT work on my novel for several months, because I am sick of the damn thing and I hate it. :P

And you have a right to brag. So brag away. Congratulations! I can understand not wanting to look at it for awhile. Take a break, and then in time you can go back to it and make corrections, etc. I hope you eventually shop it around at some point.

That's the eventual plan - do another draft that is stronger and better, and then see if I can shop it around.

But yes, in the immediate future, I am just going to take a break - catalogue some S7 Supernatural clothes, maybe rewatch some more Sherlock, maybe write some more fanfiction. But I don't think I'm going to touch my novel again until January. I

Ooh, catalog S7 clothes, that will be cool. And Sherlock, still wanting to find some DLs for that, and then talking to a brother tonite, he has Netflix and is going to hook me up to his Netflix account so I can stream some Sherlock. Too excited that I might - FINALLY - be able to watch this one.

And 4 months is a good amount of time to be away from the Novel. Go back to it with fresh eyes and thoughts and you will make it better than ever.

Yeah, usually they are cheaper in the states, so I send her an email kindly asking her to pick them up for me and I'll pay her back... and then she picks them up for me and just says "don't worry about it - Happy Birthday."

It's a nice little system we have going. ;)

Congratulations! That's an amazing accomplishment and you should definitely reward yourself with whatever will make you feel all celebratory, even if it's delayed by a few days.

I spent $22 on thai food tonight, so that was quite celebratory! I'm also thinking of wrapping my celebrations up with my birthday... as an excuse to spend more on myself on my birthday, really. :P

I'm going to a concert tomorrow night too - which I had planned to do before I finished the novel, but still, I'm sure it counts as a celebration as well.

Oh cool. Thanks. I'm not sure this novel will ever be fit for publication - but it's good to know about such sites for possibly better novels to come... or if I ever figure out how to solve the problems of this one.
