Okay, so, I'm busy getting ready to fly back east for a month, but I thought I'd let you know what I have in the works...

Soon I will post a massive Merlin meta. It is currently around 5,000 words, and I haven't talked about S4 yet. I'm hoping the 5 of you who have seen Merlin will enjoy it. It's about the Merlin-Arthur friendship, but I also talk about Lancelot, Gwaine, Gwen, and non-sexual threesomes - so there's something for everyone!

After that, I'll watch The Blind Banker and post another (hopefully a little less epic) Sherlock Rewatch post. 

Then, I might write a Merlin fic...or maybe I'll write a Supernatural/Merlin crossover fic...or maybe I won't write anything.

(Sidenote: Did you know that when I posted my Merlin/Sherlock crossover fic, people misread it and thought that I had written Sherlock/Merlin slash? Spoiler: I didn't.)

That should bring us to August. At which point I will be VERY BUSY...and I might not get anything else done until after VanCon. (I'm currently in a Schrodinger cat scenario with a ticket...in that at the moment, I both have a ticket and do not have a ticket. It's a waiting game to see if the money went through and if I didn't get swindled by a Spaniard. Please note: I do not think I am getting swindled by a Spaniard. I'm mostly just worried about the banks screwing up the wire transfer.)

Anyway, once August is over, I will watch rewatch Sherlock's The Great Game...and then the Supernatural DVDs will come out and I'll do a Supernatural Rewatch and update the clothing catalogue....and then it'll be Christmas, and I'll go watch the Hobbit and tell you what I thought.

This will bring us to 2013...

Jeezus. And here I thought I never planned for the future! (Note: I'm in a dead-end career and I have no idea what I will do for money in the future...but at least I know what my blog will look like!)

Anyway, I'm going to Vancouver Island this weekend, so I'll have a 4 day no-internet vacation. Try not to do anything exciting while I'm away.

Did AO3 ever reply to your meta posts question? And Merlin has so much history going into a series so I expect your meta to be quite interesting! :D

Oh, yeah, they did. They're response was that they haven't actually come to a decision on meta yet, but will alter their terms of service when they do. They told me that AO3 wasn't policed, so as long as no one reported me, I could do what I wanted. Of course, someone HAS reported me, so now I'll have to what whoever reviews the complaint decides.

So, yeah, I'm unsure whether I should keep posting meta there or not. Decisions decisions.

I actually don't talk about the "history" behind Merlin (and I'm assuming by "history" you mean the original myths, right?). The show is so liberal with the legends and myths, that I just like to treat the show as it's own independent thing.

Yeah, the original myths are a doozy! My only experience beyond basic Arthurian mythology was reading The Squire's Tale series by Gerald Morris (young adult books). Of course, I still need to read The Once and Future King eventually and watch all of the episodes of Merlin too. Did you ever end up watching Camelot (on Starz)? Perhaps you'll also consider reccing Arthurian related things to read/watch at the end of your Merlin meta? :D

My problem is that when it comes to myths, I like really the "facts" of them and not so much the story...like, I'd rather read the encyclopedia versions of the myths. So, I haven't actually waded through the original myths. I'm also much better versed on Irish and Norse myths than I am on British ones. (I've got Britain in a myth sandwich!)

I've never watched Camelot. I saw a picture of Arthur and thought he looked...well, not like Arthur should look. I feel bad but that kind of turned me off it. Also, I find most adaptations focus way too much on the Arthur-Gwen-Lancelot triangle until you might as well be watching some slut-shaming "romantic" tragedy, instead of a story about bad ass knights and wizards and such. So, yeah, me giving Merlin a go is actually kind of odd of me...but those goddamn tumblr gifs just pulled me in. :P Seriously though, I could tell that Merlin was going to be a little bit more on the comedy-side than the angsty-angsters-who-angst side, and that's why I watched.

Vancouver Island is not Vancouver. Vancouver Island is where the cities of Victoria (provincial capital) and Nanaimo are...along with some smaller towns. It's huge and across the Strait of Georgia.

*punches the air* YUSSSS MERLIN META
I was looking through some caps the other day and thinking I needed to re-watch it...hmmmm...When I did my first watching, I powered through S1 and S2 in forty-eight hours in a school week...maybe I can recapture that passion.
Looking forward to all that might and might not come! :D

That's not really all that bad, planning-wise. I mean, I have my year mapped out in a similar fashion. :P I heard some theaters are going to be doing LOTR marathons before The Hobbit premieres, and I'm thinking if I can hold out 'till then, I can watch LOTR for the first time in theaters, and then go right into The Hobbit.

Oh man, you should totally see LOTR in the theatres - if you can sit through that many movies without your eyes falling out of your skull! (I can't...my limit is usually 3 hours watching anything, and then I have to not watch things for a while.)

I watched Merlin, then I edited it to make the episodes more succinct. Then I edited the seasons to make a massive file of ONLY conversations between Merlin and Arthur. I'm not sure what I'm going to do to it next...maybe I'll just follow Gwen's story. It's kind of fun to do things this way, because Merlin has ended up entertaining me for 6 months!

Anyway...yes, back to LOTR. I have to decide if I want to try to read the Hobbit before I go see it.

I'm hoping the Merlin Meta will appear by the end of next week or next weekend. I wanted to get it out this week, but I'm too busy getting ready for my trip. :P

I think I could do it...me and my brother watched two movies(each 2.5 hours) in theaters back to back, and afterwards I was ready to watch more. And I have a girlfriend(of the female who is a friend variety) who's been trying to get me to see them forever, so we might go.

Eh, whenever it comes, it'll be interesting! I'd love to see something on Gwen...y'know, if it helps you decide XD
