Just recording this so that I don't forget - and I figured maybe a few people on my flist might be interested...

Any fandom AU - slash (kind of h/c)...

Players:
Male1
Male2
Male2's brother
Male2's mother (optional) - depends on age of characters and tweaks to the story.

Setting: Male 1 spends the summer with Male 2's family, because he's friends with Male2's brother (twins? close in age, anyway).

Male2 has something different with his brain (not mentally handicapped to the point of, what I call, eternal youth...but instead to the point where he's effectively mute). He's quite brilliant though...maybe he can do math, or something not involving spoken language. I don't know, it was a dream, I didn't go into details.

Male1 is under a lot of pressure to be perfect at home. Maybe his parents don't understand his desires in life...or the fact that he's gay...maybe he wants to do something foolish like be a musician (there was a lot of music in the dream).

Male1 decides to escape his family by spending his summer vacation (or all his free time - again, depends on the age of the characters), with his friend Male2's brother. Male2 lives with his brother and that's how they meet....and fall in love (awww.)

I don't know how it ends...but Male1 likes to play the guitar and sing...and he likes Male2, because he doesn't make fun of him, or judge him, or anything...mainly because he can't, but also just because he doesn't. Male2 prints out the lyrics to the songs that Male1 sings and then circles the verbs. He also may or may not write very odd graffiti at various points all over town. Even though normally he doesn't leave the house much.

One of the songs in my dream was called Love and Happiness, and was all about how the singer couldn't have those things even though they want them. In my dream, I fully believed this to be a real song in the real world...but for the life of me, upon waking, I have no idea what song it is...so I must have made it up. And at this point, I just remember the verbs "wanted, find, love,"

Then my upstairs neighbour makes a loud noise and wakes me up, so who knows what happens. :P

Most of my dreams involve people from my primary school and I DON'T KNOW WHY THAT IS.

Also, I am always in my dreams. I have never had a dream where I wasn't in it. Does that make sense? You're not in this dream..

Though to be fair, I have also dreamed that I am: a cartoon chicken, a gay man, a straight man, a gay woman, a straight woman, drowning, being served phoetus to eat (OH MY GOD WORST DREAM EVER), killing my own cat, looking after Barack Obama The Centaur's parkly high heels, mining for raisins, being chased by knights, locked in a car with a massive fuck off boulder coming towards me, inside a teddy bear, climbing through cinema screens... you get it. I have weird dreams.

Haha, I'm glad I'm not the only one with weird weird dreams.

I'm not always in my dreams, though, I do usually occupy one perspective. I've been Captain Picard before...that was fun. In this dream, I was Male1 and then occasionally Male2. That doesn't mean that I'm seeing through their eyes though...usually when I'm other people I see them from the outside, like a film (only you know, with all four walls). Actually, more like a novel in third person fixed perspective (which also happens to be my preferred style of writing)...if I'm someone, then I know their thoughts and feelings, even if I'm looking at them from the outside.

Or sometimes I switch back and forth form seeing the world through their eyes and seeing it from outside of them...it varies. When I am myself, I tend to only be inside myself (ie: seeing everything through my eyes).

I think you might have weirder dreams than me...or I just can't remember any dreams as weird as yours at the moment. :P I have, however, predicted the future with my dreams before - and I'm saying this as someone who is a skeptical atheist.

Aah yeah that's what happens in mine. I just normally say that I'm that person/character. I guess that's what threw me. I've been everyone really. Though the cartoon chicken was by far the best.

Predicted the future? Buh? How? What?

I basically predicted my best friends abusive relationship before he even entered into it - to the point where I actually warned him not to date a girl with a certain sounding name (at the point I had the dream, he had already met her, but I didn't know she existed nor did I know her name). He didn't heed my warning (I mean, who would, especially when he was blinded by love)...and yeah, enter slowly being trapped in an abusive relationship for 2 years.

Another funny thing my dreams do: If I'm having a dream that is really pissing me off (like, I'm getting really really angry in it), then my dream will suddenly change to being about Harry Potter. Like, mid-story. :P I'll be like "I AM FALLING INTO A RAGE!" and then everything around me will suddenly melt and reform into Hogwarts, and Harry and Hermione will be like "Quick! We have to save Ron!" and I'll be all distracted and forget what it was in the previous dream that made me angry. :P

OK. Thats both extremely awesome and really horrible/sad. Like, in a way, I'm not surprised he didn;t listen. Not because of being blinded by love or anything. More like... you did dream it. I'd be ore surprised if he'd paid attention. But still, poor guy. Was she just (hah! "just") mean and shitty and verbally abusive or did it get physical as well?

Haha that is so weird! I don't think I've ever dreamt of characters from TV/film/books. I just dream about people I know, and musicians and famous people, but never really famous people I super care about (e.g. Kate Moss, Barack Obama (I love him but he's not Jared), Karen O). Often though, I can tell what influenced my dreams by what was in it. Like, once I had a horrible dream about this pregnant black woman who was tied to the top of a tree and set on fire. And it was just her, burning, for the longest time. And I dreamt about that because I had watched the Pilot recently, and Mary and Jess both burned high up. but GAH that was a horrible dream.

Yikes! That IS a horrible dream. Usually things don't affect my dreams that directly...though, I do, obviously, have dreams based on what I'm watching/reading/writing. Like, the characters in the dream above were played by Bradley James and Colin Morgan (though the characters had different names), and I had been watching Merlin just before bed. But yeah, that's about as far as it goes.

I also once had a sex dream about Sam Winchester...it remains one of my favourite dreams ever. (And also, I totally predicted Jared's sweating problem before it was known to the fans).

But still, poor guy. Was she just (hah! "just") mean and shitty and verbally abusive or did it get physical as well?

It was verbal/emotional abuse coupled with social isolation, slowly escalating towards violence.(I believe there was another form of abuse as well...but he's never confirmed it directly and I don't imagine he ever will.) He got out as soon as it turned violent.

Hmm.. now you said that, I thknk I've had a dream with Colin Morgan in it. But I can't remember.

Haha awesome. I have had a making-out-with-Dean-Winchester dream and a sex dream with Jared and Gen. All groovy. :D

Sheesh. Well, I'm glad he got out as soon as it turned violent but... yikes. And... more yikes. I'm glad he's OK now. Or at least, I hope he's OK now. I don't know him after all. :P

He's okay now. He's got a very nice new girlfriend, who I've met and has passed all my tests. ;) (I am now like the Winchesters when it comes to vetting my best friend's potential mates..."yes, she looks lovely, but is she secretly a demon?")

I am super jealous of your Jared and Gen sex dream....I want it!! Sexiest couple ever.

I think one of Colin Morgan's character names in my dream (he was both Male2 and Male2's brother) was Gavin. Gavin! Ugh. I really do not like that name. My brain needs to get better at names. :P

Please tell me you did a holy water test. That would make my day. :P

Haha! My awesome dream! Mine!

See you have names! My dreams are full of people from my primary school who I haven't seen in years, or completely new characters my brain made up which I couldn't describe to you if my life depended on it.

Haha, I would have, if I knew how to make holy water :P

My dreams always come up with names for "original characters." It's how I knew to warn my friend (though, damn it, I really loved her name in my dream, it sucks that I now forever associate it with the evil ex.)

But I have a lot of repeat names - I use "Chris" a lot, which is kind of funny, because I haven't actually known that many people named Chris in my life. I also once fell in love with someone named Edwardo...which, yeah, was hilarious...I ended up calling him Eddy (or Eddie, if you prefer). He sadly died rather horrifically in my dream (he was killed by a flying blue gnome, that caused him to rapidly bleed to death).

They're all people I just make up though (or actor-lookalikes). I can't remember what people from my past look like anymore, because I have a horrible memory for faces, so yeah, they can't really populate my dreams.

On my God, I actually thought for a minute that you'd actually once fallen in love with a guy killed by a flying gnome. Jesus. Oh man, I am giggling stupidly over here.

Oh they don't look like the people from my primary school, they just are, so I never bother to think about it more.

Oh, yeah, well...I don't remember anyone from my past. It's a problem. I have a friend from HS who keeps starting conversations with "Hey, do you remember so-and-so? Well, I saw them the other day..." and every single time I'm just like "No, but I will take your word that this is someone I used to know."

On my God, I actually thought for a minute that you'd actually once fallen in love with a guy killed by a flying gnome. Jesus. Oh man, I am giggling stupidly over here.

LOL sorry! But hey, the love felt real! ;)

What was her name in your dream?

Haidne.

Eh I have a pretty decent memory. And my sisters is better. And my primary school had the grand total of 49 people in it when I left, so it's pretty easy to remember everyone.

Haidne? Um, what? Is that French? How do you even say that?

Date: 2012-04-30 09:41 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] hells-half-acre.livejournal.com
Oh actually, good point. I don't remember people from High School, because there were 1300 people and yeah...names I remember, but not faces. But in primary school my classes were VERY small (I had a graduating class of 5, I believe). So, I remember those guys still - I just don't dream of them anymore, because I am old. :P

Haidne - it's a completely made up name, thanks to my subconscious. It's a mix of German and Greek. Said "Hide-nee". Hai, in German, means shark.

That's... very random... :P

It's not random if you know the name of his ex-girlfriend :P It's actually a huge clue in knowing who she was. But yeah, for a made up name, I really love it...I'd never use it for anything though, because it has such negative things associated with it now.

Well, without actually writing her name...I will tell you that she was of a particular ethnicity that meant that her name WAS weird (at least to me...so, yeah, my brain wouldn't have been able to predict her actual name, but it could predict the general sound of it.)

Huh. Yeah, I suppose weird is just relative to what you're used to.

And weird can be awesome too. Which is why I like making names. Corian is my favourite that I've made up (also the only one I remember). And Mirany, which was from a book I read when I was younger.

I don't make up many names. My best friend did, he was pretty good at it. He played a lot of D&D though, so they were mostly elf/dwarf-like names. ;)

I think once you start it becomes easier. And also, mispronunciations are a good place to start. You just twist existing words. I do that with place names for my friend. Though I also ask mum and dad for help. :P Or you can spell words backwards, that works sometimes.

Agreed! I had a character named Mahk once - and that was just us making fun of the way one of our professors said "Mark" :P Vahl and Mahk were actually siblings, which is why I remember those two. Vahleerah and Mahkteerah Althenar. We kicked ass. (Mahk's full name comes from the Irish for wolf, which I just spelled and pronounced horrifically.)

Well, Vahl was a woman, but Mahk was definitely a dude. We nearly always played the opposite genders to what we were. And then each time we'd come up with a new relationship between our characters. We had friendship (our elf/dwarf combo, where we actually played our own genders and my elf wasn't very elf-like), enemies forced to work together (our ninja/rogue combo, where we were both girls), siblings (Mahk and Vahl - fighter and paladin), and finally awkward flirty infatuated couple (sorceress/rogue...they kept dying though.)

Aaah I most tragic love. Clearly destined never to be. :P

I think if I were to have played D&D (which I never have and would have no idea how to go about starting AND shouldn't do cos, seriously, I spend enough time on the tinterwebs as it is) I think I would have been a guy as well. Well, most of the time. And then I would have an awesomely badass woman who was better than all my other characters combined. And she would be an archer. Naturally.

Date: 2012-04-30 10:40 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] hells-half-acre.livejournal.com
Well, the nice thing about D&D (TRUE D&D) is that it's not played on the interweb. It's played in person with your friends - like a boardgame without a board.

You CAN play it over the internet, but it's not as fun...and it can take way longer, depending on your set-up.

Yeah, I played girls the first two times I played, and they were always archers ;) Okay wait, that's not true...the elf was an archer (and axe thrower), the rogue was a dagger-thrower, I believe...it's actually hard for me to remember, she may have also been an archer. Then I switched to dudes and broadswords!

Aah, I think I get it mixed up with WoW. Or can you play WoW in real life as well? I don't know. Is D&D LARPing then?

Archers are the best, followed by dagger-throwers (and any other throwing of weaponry) and then broadswords, so I think you have pretty excellent taste. :D

Date: 2012-04-30 10:51 pm (UTC)
