Castiel's Wardrobe

I don't track Castiel's Wardrobe for this project. Mainly, because it very rarely changes.

That being said, Tara Larsen, one of the crew-members on Supernatural, tweeted a picture of one of Castiel's wardrobe tags...and it'd be remiss of me not to preserve this information.

The tag is from The Man Who Knew Too Much (6x22), but as Castiel very rarely wears anything other than his standard suit and trench-coat, this could be seen as a listing of Castiel's wardrobe from Lazarus Rising (4x01) to Hello, Cruel World (7x02):



The Tag reads:

if I'm reading it right, the part of the part under the shoes that you couldn't read was "1.5" (possibly heirloom)" ... "Blundstones"

... yes, but really, my combat boots have 1.5" heels. Work boots in general have thick soles. In my boots (I just measured them) the sole is about an inch thick, and it has another half inch or so at the heel.

So, really, not that surprising.

The real question? How much did the costuming department spend on Cas' trademark outfit?

I'm always interested on if they got gypped because they didn't just go to K-Mart or Target or Walmart to pick up the "costume".

Actually, they got gypped BECAUSE they went to a cheap store to buy his costume. According to someone (Misha, I think), the original tie cost them $40, but they only bought one or two because he was only supposed to be around for 3 or 4 episodes...and then they decided to keep him as a big character, and they had discontinued the tie. Which means that every time they bloody or ruin a tie, they have to have a new one custom-made. :P

From what I can tell, Supernatural buys most of it's costumes from Mark's Work Warehouse and The Bay. I don't know what an equivalent to Marks' Work Warehouse is in the states (maybe like J.C. Penny for utilitarian clothes?)...but The Bay is kind of like Sears. So, it's not like they're going into boutiques. :P

I think they probably spend the most on the Australian shoes (and army of trench-coats). But it's worth it for both the show and the actor to invest in a good pair of shoes that will be able to withstand Vancouver weather. It's why Sam doesn't wear pumas anymore. :P

Yes! I don't currently keep track of Castiel's clothing - and I've only updated the clothing catalogue until S8 anyway, but I'll update this entry anyway.
