Ask Me Anything

I'm bored...and I still have to work....so, let's try a thing...
Ask me anything in comments, and I'll answer. I've even turned on anonymous commenting (though it's set so that I'll screen them).
I'm not so narcissistic that I actually believe you are interested in my life, but if you are, that's cool...or if you want me to discuss certain shows/characters/events/fics that's cool too.
Basically, I'm just trying this out to see if it's a good idea or a horrible idea for how to spend an afternoon...(it's probably a horrible idea)

Date: 2012-03-28 11:42 pm (UTC)Alternatively, would you ever consider a trip to the United States? Maybe even driving/flying/taking the train to Wisconsin?

Date: 2012-03-28 11:58 pm (UTC)Demented'verse - I have an almost completed demented timestamp set in S7, but I can't think of a good ending for it...and I'm also not sure if I like the POV it's in. So, yeah, it needs some work. I'm sure I'll post it eventually though...it's been sitting on my headdrive since November 1st.
Trifecta - no plans as of yet. There's a Sherlock/Supernatural fic that someone wanted me to write once that I may do...or not...but that one has been stewing for over a year now, so I'm not sure I'll ever get to it.
Traveling to the US - In general, I try not to travel to the US, because it makes me very nervous...that being said, I would be far more likely to go to a Northern State than a Southern one (Although, I'd love to see the Grand Canyon...and possibly a desert...I have never seen a desert. Well, I've seen a Canadian desert, but that hardly counts).
I have never been to Wisconsin, but I hear the South-shore of the Superior is quite lovely, so who knows! Maybe if I move back to Ontario and decide to drive, I will take a southern route.

Date: 2012-03-30 12:18 am (UTC)Thanks! My usual rule when travelling to places is to stay with friends - usually, it's the only reason that I can afford the trip.

Date: 2012-03-29 06:26 am (UTC)How do you feel about the evolution of Sam and Dean from season 1 to the current season of Supernatural?
no subject
Date: 2012-03-29 07:08 am (UTC)Um...I like it?
It's one thing I love about Supernatural - the characters change over time, for better or for worse.
We get bright-eyed and cocky Dean slowly revealing the warped psyche underneath the bravado...and then becoming the hardened emotionally scarred hunter that he is today. He's lost everything and everyone and just because some people miraculously come back, that doesn't mean that the pain he felt at their original passing has no effect.
We also get Sam, who began as our reluctant hero - and evolved into the biggest damn hero of them all. I was just thinking of this the other day - but Sam was always a character that life happened to. He was denied choice his entire life, ordered around by his father, thrown into a war by the events manipulated by a demon, further manipulated by another demon...and finally, finally, Sam got to make a choice, and he chose to sacrifice himself. And it really was the perfect arc, from S1-S5...but I also like that they went passed S5, because with S7 we get to see the aftermath of war, and we see that most with Sam.
JK Rowling once spoke about why she chose to have Harry live at the end of her books...and I can't remember her exact words, but she basically said that true bravery was not just fighting a war, but dealing with the aftermath as well. I feel like that's what we're getting to see with S6 and 7.
I could also speak about the evolution of Sam and Dean's relationship...because that's been handled amazingly well..I'm probably reaching the character limit for this comment though. :P
Hi!
Date: 2012-03-31 06:06 pm (UTC)I've been reading your blog for a few months now and I really enjoy it. I like a lot of your POVs on the Supernatural story arcs and characters. I've wanted to comment before but I dont have a LJ account so...
That being said, I thought the episode with EmmanuelCas and Sam losing it was awesome! I think it was one of the best in recent times. I have to say the previous few episodes havent been up to scratch (for me personally). I mean I really enjoy watching the boys, but I kinda felt the story was coming to a bit of a standstill, so I was REALLY glad about the last episode.
Also, I am amazed by your catalogue of the boys outfits. So detailed!
(Which btw is how I first came across your blog! :D)
I know this isnt a question, but I hope you see this/post this all the same!
Cheers!
Re: Hi!
Date: 2012-03-31 09:52 pm (UTC)I'm glad you are enjoying my blog! :)
I also thought that episode was awesome - and I have a feeling it will only get more awesome when I get around to doing my rewatch. It definitely livened up the storyline a bit...since I agree that it HAS been dragging the longer they go without real progress in the Leviathan arc.
I'm also glad that you enjoy the clothing catalogue! It's a bit of work that one - but I enjoy it immensely. :)
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a note!
