It was The Knee Ninjas
Jul. 12th, 2006 12:28 amI wrote this earlier today:
"I was told Newfoundland didn't get thunderstorms, but there is one outside. I woke up to the low thunder. Just now there was a flash and a stronger roll of thunder...I wonder if I woke up in a different province. I think it'd be funny if that were a possibility. If houses just shifted during the night. The world would be a much different place. We'd all work from our homes. Children wouldn't be allowed sleepovers for fear of ending up too far to return in a day.
"Today I have the doctor's appointment for my knees. I'm sure they'll just recommend me to a specialist, or tell me to go get x-rays. Still, it's a step, and perhaps the x-rays or specialist will help me out. My mum says her knees hurt because they are inflamed. I don't think that's my problem. I don't think inflamed knees make crunching sounds and snapping sounds, and click in that particularily painful way that my right knee now does. It feels like all sockets are out of place. It feels like someone rearranged my bones while I was sleeping.
"They rearranged my bones and then put me in a province with thunderstorms. I guess they thought the thunderstorm would cheer me up. It was a nice thought, but I don't really want to walk through the rain to get to the doctor."
Apparently the condition of someone rearranging the bones inside your knees whilst you sleep is called Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome, and it really is just that. My knee cap has been put in the wrong position, causing my bones to crunch together in most unpleasant ways. Next adventure is seeing what this phenominon looks like on X-rays! I love X-rays. They are so....revealing.
