So, usually there's an episode of a certain TV show to watch tonight...and usually, even if there isn't, I go over to my friends' place and drink their wine and eat their food. Except, tonight there is no new Supernatural, and my friends are out at some fancy restaurant...

So...yeah, I'm kind of bored. I'd share pictures of my new digs, but the place is still kind of a mess. I'm getting there. I just have one suitcase left to unpack, and then all I have to do is clean up a bit. That being said, I'm getting a new kitchen faucet and a new bathroom sink on Monday, so maybe I'll wait until those are installed before I take pictures.

Anyway...does anyone want to chat?

Or how about I let you in on a special surprise...recently, a fellow fan got in touch with me to let me know that they actually knew mostly all the brand names of the Winchester's clothing, so, I've been working with this fan to slowly update my clothing catalogue to include that information. :) So far we've done mostly all of the coats, and only a handful of Sam's shirts, but we're working on more... I'm super jazzed about it!

You. Are. Certifiably. Nuts.

Fortunately for us :)

And just because you seem to be bored, how's that master list of 'what the boys knew about what when' coming?

(I know, I'm a greedy, greedy person...but you love me anyway :)

Oh man! I forgot all about the knowledge timeline! I will stop reading h/c fics out of boredom and go work on it some more...I forgot where I left off in my research, but I'm pretty sure I haven't even finished the first season yet. :P

Really, I have so many projects, I should just make a sign to put above my computer that says "It is impossible for you to be bored" and then follow it with a list of everything I have to do. :P

You. Are. Certifiably. Nuts.

I really am.

My dad gave me one of his old Brazos work jackets and it looks just like something the boys would wear. Add that to my plaid collection and Carhartt jacket from goodwill and I'm slowly but surely building up a suitable wardrobe to wear to a con if I ever get to go XD
I still want to find out a way to permanently borrow one of my dad's shirts that looks just like a grey version of Dean's lightweight jackets.

NGL I am now going through the catalog to see if I can actually get my hands on any of the coats(I want the green one from 504 but hot damn $144 is a lot). I need to check out a surplus store.

I think you can find some things for cheaper second-hand or on ebay (or places like ebay)...but some of their jackets are pretty rare finds.

I tried to buy the girl-version of Sam's Superhero hoodie once (it's Carhartt), but it was too big and poofy and made me look fat - and so I returned it, because I know myself too well, and figured that I'd never get my money's worth out of it. Apparently they get less poofy if you break them in, but it takes a lot to break them in.

Yup.

I have the guy's version in blue(happy coincidence, since at the time I had no idea what SPN was), and you're totally right. It's very poofy. Warm, though. I don't wear mine too much now that we live in the city.

I figure if I ever move back to colder climates, I might try to invest in one again - they ARE warm, and would fit over anything I wear. And in most of Canada, people forgive you for wearing ridiculously poofy jackets.

Yup. Plenty of positives. I only wear mine on the coldest days down here...which are nothing compared to Canada, I'm sure. I wear mine to the bus stop when I have to head out at 730 and it's ~28F out, and it's ~cozy~. Thankfully nobody judges because a) we do not like cold weather any of us(unless you're a snowbird), and b) this is ranching country and everyone wears Carhartt or Brazos or the like.

Yeah, it doesn't help that I live in Vancouver, where most people like to dress all city-fancy. :P

And -2C is pretty cold (that's ~28F)...in Ontario, it can get to be -30C (-22F)...so, yeah, no one judges what you wear once it gets below -10C (14F).

Vancouver is usually hovering around 0C (32F) in the winter, which means that Canadians don't consider it that cold...even though with the damp, I often feel far colder in Vancouver than I ever did in Ontario.

I'm listening to SPN right now. Mom's in the next room watching the rerun. I can just hear enough of it to make out and remember what's happening. :)

You gonna have a TV in your new place?

Date: 2012-03-10 05:55 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] hells-half-acre.livejournal.com
No, no TV. I'm going to be relying on downloads on the computer...which I haven't checked out yet with my new ISP, but hopefully they aren't the type to crack down on torrents.

It's Death's Door tonight, right? So sad. I think I'll wait to watch that one again.

Ah, okay. That works, too....hopefully. *crosses fingers for you*

Yep. That's the one. It just ended. *sigh* So sad. I miss Bobby almost as much as the boys do. :(

Btw, I was wondering...do you keep track of the shoes the boys wear, too? I'm only asking 'cause I know early in Season 1 they were both wearing very different shoes than they did the rest of the series. Namely, in the first few eps, Jensen did not wear boots but more like tennis shoes.

From: [identity profile] hells-half-acre.livejournal.com
I haven't kept track of shoes thus far, mainly because they're feat aren't always in frame, so I can't really do a proper "history" like I do with their shirts. That being said, I might someday do a list of accessories with rough guides to when they were worn...and shoes would be included in that list.

It'd involve going back and rewatching some episodes though, which wouldn't necessarily be a hardship...but still, takes time. It's either that or I just scan the internet for caps, I guess...but that also takes time.

From: [identity profile] raloria.livejournal.com
Guess I'll have to keep track of when Jensen's boots first make an appearance. ;)

I just capped DITW and he was wearing tennis shoes then.

But you're right. Don't always see their feet in every ep. I'll keep my eyes open though in Season 1 during my capping sessions.

From: [identity profile] hells-half-acre.livejournal.com
Yeah, and let me know! I mean...maybe it'd be easier if we divvy up the work a bit. If you happen to get a good cap of their shoes, send it my way. I'll add it to a potential list of accessories and see if my friend can identify the brand. (And if I post it, I'll give you proper credit for the cap, of course).

Like, maybe instead of going episode by episode, I'll just say something like:

Dean's tennis shoes - S1.
Dean's boots - S2-S7 ;)

I know Sam wore his pumas all the way into S3, but they were used pretty sparingly after S1 (once they realized that wearing pumas in Vancouver was not a good idea if you wanted dry feet.)

From: [identity profile] raloria.livejournal.com
Yeah, I can do that. I try to catch all the details. ;)

I do know since late in Season 1 that Jensen's wore pretty much the same 2 pairs of boots. One pair is browner than the other.

Oh yeah, the Pumas. Not too good for wet weather. :P

Cool! I only started capping things like ties in later seasons, so if I ever want to add those to the catalogue (and I kind of want to), I'm going to have to go back through the episodes one way or another. It's one my ever expanding list of Things To Do. :P

From: [identity profile] raloria.livejournal.com
I know about that never-ending To-Do list.

You know where to come for the caps. I might have them all done by the time you're ready. ;)

Haha, very true. I usually like to do my own caps for the clothes, but at this point, I just don't have the time!

Haha, I'll ask. Of course, most of their shirts from the early seasons are discontinued models...but you never know! :)

I'm sad there was no episode of Supernatural this week. How depressing. I hate hiatuses!

...You're going to list the brands of all/almost all the clothes? :D!!! That's awesome!

Date: 2012-03-10 09:42 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] hells-half-acre.livejournal.com
Yeah, you'll have to wait until next week for Supernatural...but then, I think, it should be on for a bit without many breaks. :)

I'm going to list the brands of however many shirts I can list the brands from! I think it's pretty awesome too. :)
