I listened to the commentary on 2x01 and 2x02 today....from downloaded mp3s, because I'm horribly impatient and can't wait until the summer (when I assume they'll release the region 1 DVDs),

Here are a couple of things I liked:
1)Benedict realizing that he keeps flipping/twirling props in 2x01, and finally saying "I've got to stop doing that."
2)Benedict cringing over his violin playing and how he got the bowing wrong (This makes me automatically forgive him for getting the bowing wrong.)
3)Sue Vertue saying that the Sherlock+Mycroft scene in the hospital makes them more human, while simultaneously either Moffat or Gatiss says that the scene is about how they're both freaks.
4)Russel Tovey spending all of the 2x02 commentary asking everyone questions - seriously, the boy should have been a journalist. He asks about every bit of the process and is genuinely interested...and he's got a great laugh. I may have developed a little crush on him, just for being so adorably inquisitive.
5)Hounds was originally scripted with some scenes in a different order - which is why the joke with Sherlock's collar is backwards. His muttering "It's cold" was originally supposed to come AFTER John calls him out on flipping up his collar in order to look cool. Apparently Moffat and Vertue had a huge fight over the re-editing for this (and most likely other reasons too.)

In other news, when the DVDs do come out for region 1, I was thinking of doing proper rewatch posts (S1 and S2) for Sherlock...like I do for Supernaural. Would anyone be interested in that or would I just be talking to myself?

You would, at the very least, be talking to me.

I'm not sure me alone would be enough to get you to do it, but I'm fully prepared to invent some new LJ accounts to encourage you with. ;)

Seriously though, your SPN rewatches are great- there are always bits you mention that I never noticed- so I'd enjoy a Sherlock rewatch too. :)

Yay! Hahaha, that'd be pretty funny...imagine if I found out that ALL my LJ friends were actually the same person with multiple accounts? They would be a very dedicated, very strange, stalker.

Cool, I'll probably do the rewatches then. I'm trying to decide if I should stick with waiting until the DVDs come out (in Canada)...probably, just to force a bit of time-management on myself. I've got a lot to do these days.

Hmm... you think all these other comments are from real people. How cute. :P

Oh man... I don't even... there's nothing I can say.

I'd be very interested in your rewatches of BBC!Sherlock. (Just as I am in your Supernatural ones, albeit I lurk more than comment.)

Cool! Even if you lurk, at least I know that you are lurking. Though, comments are always nice too. ;)

Can I have them too, if you can pass the link to me? I want to hear the commentaries too!!

And I'll be looking forward to your rewatches of course! I was thinking of doing them myself, because there's only 6 episodes :)

Okay, I got them through tumblr and I don't think I reblogged the post (should have! Sorry!), so I'll try to find them again... DONE! (I'm so good): http://deardarkness.tumblr.com/post/16232528223/sherlock-s2-dvd-commentaries-with-the-cast-crew

There are only 6 episodes, but they are 90 minutes long! It takes me about 2 hours (at least) to do a rewatch of a Supernatural episode and they are only 42 minutes and not nearly as densely written and layered. So, yeah....don't be fooled by the number of episodes. My posts are going to be LONG. VERY VERY LONG. :P

Cool! I will say it then... months from now, probably, when the DVDs come out in Canada. Though, I may do S1 a little bit before that.

LOL! As a former violinist, his bowing didn't actually bother me that much. I actually give TV and movies a lot of leeway when they portray people playing the violin, 'cause I know it's not nearly as easy as it seems.

Russel Tovey is ♥ He's just so sweet and adorable and polite and nice.

I would read your rewatch posts There's always more to see with this show, so it's always more interesting.

I am a former violinist too - albeit VERY former. And yeah, I really instantly forgave him for any mistakes because I know how hard it is to fake - and then I forgave him even more when I found out that he actually took lessons and knows how to play the 3 songs that he plays in S2. I find that adorable. So yeah, if he was really already forgiven, but him acknowledging that he messed it up a bit is the icing on the forgiveness cake. :P

I had only ever seen Russel Tovey as Alonso in his little tiny bits in Doctor Who before this...but man, he really is sweet and adorable and polite and nice. I kind of want to be his friend now.

Cool, I need to find out when the S2 DVDs are coming out in Canada. People are guessing "after May sometime." So, it might be a bit of a wait. I usually wait for the DVDs though, I suppose I don't necessarily have to...I guess that's another decision to be made. To wait, or not to wait...

Awww! Yeah, now I forgive him even more for actually taking the lessons.

His character in Being Human was awesome. I loved 'im. But, yeah, he is so sweet.

Yeah, I kind of wish I could stand to watch Being Human. I love werewolves...but sadly, I REALLY can't stand sympathetic vampires. I don't know what it is, but yeah...they drive me away much like garlic drives them away. :P

TBH, I never liked the vampires in BH or their storyline, so I hear you. I watched for George, Nina, and Anne.

Were are you watching S2? I've only found S1 online thru Netflix. Is there any way to watch S2 online without downloading? If there is I am so there with you.

Cheers,
LEO

Unfortunately there isn't a legal way to watch it in NA. You'll have to wait until it airs on PBS in May, or until the region 1 DVDs come out (which will most likely be after May).
