I guess I just like liking things
Jan. 3rd, 2012 02:29 pmI knew, as soon as it was announced that Sherlock would tackle "The Woman", that this would happen...and I understand that it's a hard thing to get right, and there are ALWAYS going to people who don't like what is done. But man....some of the complaining annoys me, because it's like they completely missed the point, or we watched different shows. And yes, you could argue that maybe *I* missed the point and they're correct, but I'll leave Abed to sum up my thoughts on that...

Date: 2012-01-03 10:47 pm (UTC)Okay, so, I've missed Sherlock again. When does it air here in NOrth America on BBC? I still need to look for the first season and watch them, but I would like to tape any new airings once I get caught up.

I know they are selling the DVD at the end of January though (I'm assuming it'll be available in all regions, but I haven't confirmed that.)
I tend to unfollow/defriend people who are persistently negative - so I know I'm not even seeing the full extent of the dissatisfied, which, is a good thing...because it really does annoy the heck out of me.

Date: 2012-01-03 11:56 pm (UTC)Yes, the complaints also annoy the heck out of me. Every now and then you can tolerate, but the consistent, unfounded, just for the sake of complaining complaints - Aack! Hate those and they do get tiring after awhile. Good for you for defriending and staying away from that crap. Life is tough enough without having to read other's stupid little rants all the time. We want to enjoy what we love, not be depressed. :)

Date: 2012-01-04 12:20 am (UTC)Exactly, exactly...especially when it comes to the people who seem to be watching an entirely different show. :P
I DL everything. I don't actually have cable (and don't own a TV either). My guess is that it's not going to be airing on BBC America for a bit (though, I could be wrong...I think they've synced up Doctor Who now), so you're probably best with DLing anyway. What I usually do is download, and then buy the DVDs (if I liked what I saw), just so that they are still getting my money somehow.
The next two episode of this series will be airing next Sunday and the Sunday after, and then that's it (for now, or possibly forever). So, you could wait two weeks and DL all 6 mini-movies.

Date: 2012-01-04 12:27 am (UTC)I'm not touching the feminist arguments with a ten-foot poll. Some of it I'm sure is justified - but some people just seem to have gone into it with it already in their minds that Moffat is a sexist pig and it's all wrong and because of that they've interpreted in such a way to confirm their expectations, rather than going in with an open mind and drawing conclusions afterward...and you can't argue with people like that.
But again, I just like liking things - so I'm biased too, I suppose.
