It's almost like I'm an author!

Oh man guys! Look what sentra04 made:



It's Damned Demented Demons ... IN BOOK FORM.

LIke, it's actually THE SIZE OF A NOVEL...and I knew it was 100,000+ words, but for some reason actually SEEING it in bound in novel form is just astounding to me. And then I think that I wrote not one but TWO stories of that length, plus all the little individual stories and Seers, Souls, and Scotland...guys, I've basically wrote 2 novels and a book of related short-stories in 3 years.

And it has my NAME on it sort of...and and...franztastisch's lovely 'verse fan-art....and man, I am so thrilled. Let's look at it again:



You know, this makes me feel so damn accomplished, that it doesn't even matter that I don't have a job and I'm completely broke and I've been living below the poverty-line for the past four years.

sentra04 is going to make me a copy (she's also going to do Vile Violent Vacations and possibly the other stories and send me those too)...and I'm going to sit it on my shelf and when my original-fic novel is rejected by publishers, I'm going to look at it and think "Hey, at least the Supernatural Fandom loves me and thinks I write well, and they are the ONLY ONES WHO MATTER."

(It'll go on the shelf next to my Master's thesis, which is another thing that I'm quite proud of.)

(And yes, I realize that a lot of people in the Supernatural Fandom write novel-length fic/multiple novel-length fic every year....I'm just saying that MY GOODNESS WE ARE ALL AWESOME! DON'T YOU GUYS FEEL AWESOME?!)

It really does. It's funny, because other people have told me that they've printed themselves off copied for their book shelves - but it's one thing hearing about it and it's one thing SEEING it, you know?

Yes, I'm very happy! Really, I am so thankful that I got into this fandom...thank goodness I gave my sister the benefit of the doubt when she recommended the show to me back in '08. :P

It would be really cool if we could get fanfiction in book form-though of course we can't because that would cost money to make them and therefore people would need to buy them and it would be copywrite infringement of characters/story-verse etc...Unless we could all make copies and make our own books somehow...

Oh my god, that's BRILLIANT. There's just something about books, and I'm not surprised at all that Damned Demented Demons fills one right up - it's an amazing accomplishment! If she were up for producing more of those I would DEFINITELY buy all the copies.

It's funny, because word-count-wise I KNEW DDD and VVV are both novel length, but for some reason it makes a world of difference to actually SEE it.

I'm doing alright! My ankle is ALMOST back to full health, you'll be happy to know. Other than that, I've just been applying to jobs and hoping for the best - and of course, writing, working on projects, and anxiously waiting for my S6 DVDs (my sister in the states bought them for me, so I have to wait for them to go through customs).

I'm super excited for the new SPN on friday! My summer was so busy, it actually feels like it's too soon for the premiere! Haha...I'm sure I'm the only one who feels that way though. I'm so worried about Sam! Oh man...

This is a most awesome gift. I think there is something so important in the creative process about being able to hold the result of your labor in your hands. Sort of a "here, I produced this and it has permanence, it goes beyond me" kind of feeling. While you can get that from posting your work publicly online, holding the work in your hands brings it home in a way nothing else really can. Your writing is awesome and the binding on the book is a thing of beauty in it's own right. So very cool all the way around.

I agree completely! I have to say, that everything creative/labour-intensive that I've done for the Supernatural fandom since I got into the show has been the most fulfilling thing! This is just icing on an already delicious cake.

This sort of makes it sound like I only think it's cool because something I made ended up in it. WHICH IS NOT TRUE. IT IS COOL BECAUSE YOU WROTE AND IT'S AN AWESOME STORY AND ONLY AWESOME STORIES (and unfortuantly Twilight) END UP BEING MADE INTO BOOKS.

Though I ahve just realised that sentra04 has unwittingly fulfulled a dream of mine, which is get an illustration I made at the beginning of a book. A friend of mine is writing a epic fantasy and I'm making her an illusration (and a map because I LOVE MAPS) and basically my life would be made if that story got published with my picture in it. THIS IS ALMOST LIKE THAT.

Almost got your copy of DDD done. VVV will take a little longer - i had a lot of formatting errors and such that need to be fixed before i can print your's out.

BUT!!

DDD should be done here in a couple hours. Since it will be awhile before your copy of VVV will be ready - i was thinking about going ahead and mailing you DDD once it's done (and after my next pay check ^^;) Or would you rather wait until they're all done?

If you want to save yourself postage, you can wait to mail both at once. But it's up to you! Maybe it doesn't matter either way? Anyway, I will PM you my name and address. I certainly wouldn't say no to receiving a book in the mail. :)

I hope all those mistakes you found in VVV aren't because of me! :S I think VVV is my most edited story (tying with Sam Is... probably).
