Sam's Dark Coat
Dec. 15th, 2000 09:57 pmSam's Dark Coat

This dark coat looks dark green indoors, but brown in the sunshine. It doesn’t have breast pockets, this coat is a heavier coat than Sam’s usual jackets. It is a simple coat that does up with a zipper and snaps, and has two zippered pockets at the bottom.
APPEARANCES:
Sam first wears it in Fresh Blood (3x07), for the entire episode, only taking it off when he is in the motel room.
In No Rest for the Wicked (3x16), Sam wears it for the entire episode.
In Yellow Fever (4x06), Sam wears it after their meeting with the snake-guy. He wears it for the rest of the episode, except when he briefly wears a suit again to interview Luther’s brother and at the end of the episode when he enjoys a beer with Dean in the sunshine by the sawmill.
In Sex and Violence (4x14), Sam is wearing it when he comes back to the motel room to find Dean infected with Siren venom. He changes out of it after the Siren is killed.
In On The Head of a Pin (4x16), Sam wears it for the whole episode, except for when he is in the motel room with Ruby.
In Jump The Shark (4x19), Sam wears it from when they meet Adam at the diner until they get to the motel. He does not wear it in the motel, but when he and Adam flee to the parking lot, he grabs it and gives it to Adam to carry. He then puts it on once the coast is clear and wears it until the ghouls strip it off him.
In Good God Y’all (5x02), Sam wears it when he and Dean part ways at the scenic lookout.
In Free To Be You And Me (5x03), Sam is wearing it upon arrival in Garber, OK. He keeps it on as he burns his IDs and sees the Help Wanted sign at the bar – but the rest of the episode he is indoors and not wearing it.
In Fallen Idols (5x05), Sam wears it at the beginning of the episode while he and Dean are on their way to Canton, Ohio. He wears it again when they go to the wax museum to speak with the curator, and again when they return to the wax museum to kill Paris Hilton.
In Changing Channels (5x08), Sam arrives at the motel with it on, to tell Dean about the Hulk-sized hole in the front door and the candy-wrappers. He then takes it off, while he talks. He wears it again when they leave the motel to go hunt the Trickster, but the Trickster kindly changes him out of it when he is thrust into “TV-land.” He is once again wearing it when they think they’ve killed the Trickster, and then again when the Trickster kindly changes him from a car back into a human.
In Abandon All Hope (5x10), Sam wears it for the entire episode, except when inside Bobby’s house.
In Sam, Interrupted (5x11), Sam wears it to the interview at the psychiatric hospital. He changes into scrubs once he is admitted.
In The Song Remains The Same (5x13), Sam puts on this coat right before Castiel sends him and Sam back in time. He wears it for the duration of his time in 1978, and only takes it off once he’s returned to 2010.
In Dark Side of the Moon (5x16), Sam starts wearing it as soon as they enter his memory of Flagstaff, Arizona from when he was presumably a teenager. He keeps it on in Heaven until he is resurrected on earth.
In Point of No Return (5x18), Sam wears this coat whenever he is not inside Bobby’s house.
In Two Minutes to Midnight (5x21), Sam wears this coat for the whole episode, except for the scene when Crowley shows up at Bobby’s house and reveals the fact that Bobby made a deal.
In Two and a Half Men (6x02), Sam changes into this after changing out of the suit he wears at the very beginning of the episode – he is wearing it by the time Samuel calls him back with the information about the security company. He keeps it on for the rest of the episode, only taking it off when he is inside the motel room, or when he briefly has to wear his suit again to talk to the divorced husband of one of the victims.
In Weekend at Bobby’s (6x04), Sam is wears this coat in all his appearances in the episode.
In Live Free or Twi-Hard (6x05), Sam wears it at the very end of the episode when he meets Dean outside by the Impala.
In You Can’t Handle the Truth (6x06), Sam wears this coat when he and Dean are in the park at the beginning of the episode, and he is getting a hotdog. He also wears it when they go to the television station to steal footage of the goddess, and then at the end of the episode when they go to the goddess’ house to kill her.
In Clap Hands If You Believe (6x09), Sam wears this coat from the beginning of the episode until he has sex with the hippie chick. He wears it again the next morning and this time manages to keep it on until he banishes the fairies.
In Like A Virgin (6x11), Sam wears this coat at the very end of the episode when he and Dean talk in the scrapyard.
In ...And Then There Were None (6x16), Sam wears this coat in the graveyard at the end of the episode.
In Let It Bleed (6x21), Sam wears this coat when he and Dean summon Balthazar to tell him about Castiel’s plan and ask for his help. He wears it for the rest of the episode, except for when he is getting a drink in Bobby’s kitchen, and Balthazar shows up and informs Sam and Dean that he’ll help them.
FATE: In Sam, Interrupted (5x11), Sam has to change into scrubs when he’s admitted to the hospital. When he escapes, he’s still wearing scrubs – one has to wonder what became of his clothes...however, he has it again 2 episodes later, so we’ll have to assume they were able to keep their clothes somehow.
