Aug. 19th, 2011 11:25 pmThis could be interesting....
Pick one of my fics, and I'll give you a detail that didn't make it into the fic. Background canon, deleted scenes, or a look into the future. My choice, but if you have a specific question you can ask it in your request.
So, ask away - any fic....
Just a note though: I'm currently in Toronto at my cousin's wedding, so don't expect speedy replies!
And since we're on the topic - while driving to Toronto today I wrote another demented'verse story in my head - the only problem is that it would take place in Supernatural season 9 or 10...so...you're in for a long wait for that one.

Date: 2011-08-20 03:39 am (UTC)I originally envisioned it as a canon demented'verse/Sherlock crossover - with the lunch occurring at some point during Sam and Dean's visit to the UK. Upon reviewing my demented'verse timeline though, I realized that they didn't have time for lunch - so in my mind the SPN/HP/SH crossover is now AU. This is actually a good thing, because I can totally write more encounters now and not have to worry about fitting into canon at all. And I do have plans for more...
Let's see...what else...this was the first appearance of psychic!Albus, which I enjoyed so much that I brought him into demented'verse canon with my latest timestamp. I really had just put it in there so that he could wander over with Lily and have that cute moment, but then I thought - man, that really adds and interesting dynamic to Albus, so yeah, KEPT IT!
No, deleted scenes for that one - but I do have plans for the future that involve Diagon Alley and hand-holding. ;)

Date: 2011-08-20 02:21 pm (UTC)Ok, I lie - I will tell you the story of Nate:
I accidentally invented Nate. I was having Teddy introduce Andy and Iggy, as his friends and housemates, when I realized that there had to be more than 3 second-year male hufflepuffs! So, I had this conversation with myself:
"There can be four of them, that seems more reasonable for children born during a war."
"Um, throw in another kid that Teddy's not as close to...um, Nathan."
"Ok, but why isn't Teddy close to him if there's only 4 of them in that room?
"Because Nathan hangs out with the girls."
"What 12 year old boy willingly hangs out with girls?"
"A gay one."
"So Teddy's other dorm-mate is a 12 year-old gay boy named Nate?"
"Yes"
"I like it."
And then of course, I figured that by the time they were 16, Nate and Teddy would be the best of friends - because who WOULDN'T want to be the best of friends with Nate and Teddy?!
Now, I have PLANS for Nate. If Supernatural ever reaches S9 or 10, then I already have a great Nate and Teddy story planned. I also have a great Nate and Teddy story that I can write at anytime, because it's not dependent on Supernatural canon. So...let's see...what can I tease...hmmm...have you ever wondered what Teddy's reaction was when he realized Nate was gay?
And because I like you, I'll also answer "Lies Were Kept Simple" (which I'm glad you like)
That was my third fanfiction piece ever, by the way. At the time, I was VERY interested in pre-series stuff and the relationship between Sam and Dean. I was also interested in what kind of impression Sam would have made at Stanford. I mean, it must be hard to not be able to talk about ANY of your life...how would he fit in (or not fit in, as the case may be) with all the "normals"...not only that, fit in enough to get a girlfriend. I mean, personally, when I'm interested in a guy, I want to know everything about him - how would a girl react to a guy who doesn't ever talk about the past? How much had she figured out by the end?
So, that's the genesis of that one. Usually I write fic because a single sentence gets stuck in my head - in this case, "lies were kept simple" was that sentence.
No deleted scenes...I tend to write from beginning to end without deleting. (and in the demented'verse, even when I deleted a scene, I ended up reworking it to fit in later).
Also, I just realized I named the bully in Sam's past Nate! Hahaha, I really like that name for some reason. So weird.

Date: 2011-08-20 02:41 pm (UTC)I don't want to guess at what Teddy's reaction is just because it wouldn't be as awesome as what you would write, BUT I figure at some point Teddy would realise that the reason Nate was so sad about Sam was that he had a crush on him. BUT YOU SAYING THAT YOU HAVE PLANS MADE ME DO ANOTHER DANCE OF JOY. And I know when people on the internet say they're doing a dance of joy, they often aren't. BUT I ACTUALLY WAS. It's like you want me to have an aneurysm-of-cute. Honestly. :P
And I love Stanford fics. Mainly because I'm so sure that Sam couldn't have hidden everything from everyone - not just Jess specifically. I mean, if you can disable your brother (who never stopped doing this) 3/4 years after you last saw him, you have to have been practising in some form. And anyway, Sam's pretty honest. I'm fairly sure he'd let things lose accidentally. Or unconsciously. Or somehow, just cos... how could he not? You can't live with soemone and them not get to know you somehow. And anyway, he said to Dean that he'd been a freak at Stanford - to become a freak someone will have to have guessed something about him. And for someone to have guessed something about him, someone would have had to have found something out. And it would have to have been at least plausable or too-close-to-home for it to make Sam uncomfortable.
Also, what I said about Till in SSS (is that what we're calling it now?), sometimes I just like people to find out. And top of that list is finding out that Sam can kick ass when he has proper reason to. :P
(This was very long and rambly. I shall go back to my dance of joy. :P)

Date: 2011-08-20 03:12 pm (UTC)I have Nate's relationship all worked out in my head - what it was like, why it ended. I'm not sure I'll ever write it, but it's there!
And no, I'm not purposefully trying to give you an aneurysm-of-cute, but it's a nice side-effect ;)
Stanford: I like people to find out too (you may have guessed, based on SSS - and yes, that's what we're calling it now). But I also like people to only THINK they find out. I like people having to piece it together, and coming up with something that might be close, but is wrong. Because who would ever guess werewolves/ghosts/demons?
I will leave you to your dance of joy while I go have lunch and then visit with my family, and then put on a pretty dress and go to a wedding...

Date: 2011-08-20 03:33 pm (UTC)Well, yeah its not real finding out... I think Sam would be an intersting person to know of while he was at Stanford. Well, and interesting person to know as well but... yeah, he's the Mystery Man. I'm always sad that there aren't more fics like that. It's an interesting thing to explore.
Have a fun wedding! :)
