Rec: Vid - Bye Bye Miss American Pie

Ok, I usually don't rec very recently posted vids - but holy crow this one is amazing.

It's an 8 minute epic that covers S1-5, all set to to American Pie, made by BottledMichelle on youtube. It's brilliant. American Pie is such a blue-collar American song, and Supernatural (I think) is one of the only shows about blue collar Americans...and man...so well done.

Also, it sort of has the added bonus of showing how Supernatural is about the great tragedy of being not having women around...

Thanks for this rec - the vid is fantastic and I wish the entire cast and crew could see it. Just wow....she certainly did our show proud with this one, and the song couldn't be more perfect the way she edited it.

OH MY GOD! THIS VID IS AMAZING!

Okay

1) Watch it on mute - JA's expressions are AMAZING. If this vid doesn't convince you that JA has the best facial expressions and is one of the most expressive actors out there, then you've got problems.

2) The juxtaposition of the two fires with Dean/Wee!Dean pulling Sam/Baby!Sammy out of the house - BRILLIANT.

3) Love all the females / absence of women in it...

Color me impressed.

I loved this. It was a very apt choice of song for Supernatural. I think the images that went with the lyrics as the song went along were great. It really did show something about the loss of women in the Winchesters' lives. Sad.

I love this song, and yes, such a good choice for a Supernatural vid - and to actually take the time to do a full 8 minute vid is amazing - especially a vid that doesn't go down in quality after the first minute and a half.

I always argue that Supernatural isn't misogynistic for killing off it's women - because although it's a show about men, it's a show specially about men-without-women...if that makes any sense. Anyway, I was glad to have it illustrated here. Sad indeed.
