VanCon 2011 - GOLD!

Hello,

So, I did a flocked post about this a week or so ago, but now that all transactions are complete, I thought I would make an OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:

I HAVE A GOLD TICKET FOR VANCON 2011.

Yay!

I'll be way over at the side - basically next to the line up for microphones - but I'll only be 3 rows from the front! Or possibly 2...it depends how the number rows. Anyway, I'll be in Row B. 

What this REALLY means though, is that I'll also get to go for the J2 Breakfast! Yay! Also, other stuff that Gold people do that I don't know about yet!

 

This means that my comprehensive convention reports, (which are so comprehensive they took me about 2-3 hours to type up at the end of each day last year), will be EVEN MORE COMPREHENSIVE!

I've found someone to buy my Silver ticket off of me already, so I'm not taking too much of a financial hit with this purchase. 

Also...

LOCATION TOUR TICKET!

Ok, so, the girl who was selling her gold ticket, also had a Monday Location Tour ticket available. I bought it. I actually have some friends who are going on the Monday location tour...however, although I DO WANT TO GO, I am also offering my location tour for sale if anybody wants it. Best offer. If no one wants it, then I'll use it myself and be quite pleased - but if someone wants to buy it off me, then I'll use the money to buy food and be quite pleased. So, it's a win-win situation for me either way.

 

So, again: LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT TO BUY A LOCATION TOUR TICKET!

 

Life in General:

 

...is not so good, thanks for asking. I abruptly lost my job, which is fine, because I hated it...but is not fine, because I already booked a month-long trip home in August (obviously returning in time for VanCon). I really don't want to cancel my trip, because I miss home, and my brother just had a baby, and I want to visit my friends and loved ones...but the odds of me finding a job that doesn't mind me taking off for an entire month right after they hire me is pretty goddamn slim. 

 

So, yeah, if anyone wants to pay me to do something, let me know. I will do it. I'm very pretty. I can edit and stuff...or um...enter data into your database? I can also crochet. 

 

 

ANYWAY...closer to VanCon, I will put up a post about maybe meeting up with those of you who are going...I have several hats that will make me recognizable in a public place.

I was thinking of wearing a distinct hat on the Friday, but maybe a nametag would be better...especially since my hats are sun hats, and I'd look dumb wearing them if it rained. :P

Yay!!!! for Gold! Warning though, once you go Gold it's hard to go back to Silver. ;) To me, the Sunday Breakfast is the best perk of the Gold Ticket. It. Is. Great! Row B! You're so lucky! What seat #? I'll be way back in G18 (last row of Gold). Not too bad from last year (just one row difference). No problem for you taking photos this year! :D

The Location Tour is tempting, but meh....still not worth it IMO. I inevitably hear about the tour from people on my flist, have even gotten pics from them, so it's almost like going but without the cost. Heh. I much prefer doing my own location hunting. ;)

So happy for you, Alix, but a little sad you lost your job. I know you were unhappy with it though, so it's a mixed blessing, right? I hope you find another job, something you want to do, that you enjoy and that you can still make the trip back to visit your family.

Yay Gold indeed!

I'm in seat #45, so like I said, way over at the side by the microphone line. :P

Yeah, I'm indifferent about the Location Tour, which is why I'm offering it for sale if anyone wants it.

It's kind of crazy to think that last year you were the ONLY person I knew at the convention - and this year I'll know SO MANY PEOPLE, or at least it seems that way.

I'm also sad that I lost my job, if only because I wanted to keep it at least until September so that I could do the trip home to visit my family...but, like you said, hopefully this will lead to something better. If the next thing still isn't what I want to do, at the very least I hope it pays better. :P

See what happens at conventions? You meet people. For me, half the fun is meeting up with fellow fans whether I know them or not. Luckily, there's always been a group of people that I know at these things which makes it easier because we can all pick each other out in the crowd. ;)

Though, if Mark Sheppard comes, I'm all over asking him about Doctor Who, if no one beats me to it...IF he comes, that is.

Most of the people this year will be people from my flist that I haven't met in person yet - so hopefully I will be able to find them!
