Question about 4x18

How much of the books do you think they read? We know Dean read Route 666, but how far do you think they got in the series? Because...did Sam ever tell Dean about the 6 months he spent alone in Mystery Spot?

I only assume they didn't read the whole thing. Because you think some of those secrets would be worth mentioning....

I must say, the potential for fic from this episode is so astounding, that I believe it may just be better to leave it be. (Yes, that is how my mind works).

Ah, but in the big disclosure scene with Sam, Chuck revels that he didn't include some info that was just too personal, or shocking or whatever. I'll have to watch the ep again to get some of these details straight. It's possible that whatever Sam hasn't told Dean (and vice versa) wouldn't have made it into print.

God, how many layers of surreality can we peel back after this ep? It's great.

True, and we know from Sam and Dean's failure to not live out the events of the day, that he doesn't even write details all the time - hence why Dean didn't know HOW he was struck by a mini-van or HOW the car window got broken, or that Sam could do research without the laptop, etc...

So, now it becomes a guessing game as to what was in the books and what wasn't :-P
