Dean's Green Utility Coat of Doom!




We first see this coat in The End (5x04), when Future!Dean is wearing it. Dean himself doesn’t pick it up until later in S5. It may, in fact, belong to Bobby, as Dean finds it in Bobby’s basement after he escapes from the panic room. It’s a green utility coat with a military feel to it. It has two very large breast pockets, and hidden side pockets.

APPEARANCES:

In The End (5x04), Future!Dean wears it for the entire episode.

In Point of No Return (5x18), Dean finds it in Bobby’s basement after he escapes from the panic room. He wears it until Castiel beats him up and brings him back to Bobby’s. Sam (I’m assuming), removes it at some point while transporting the unconscious Dean from Bobby’s bed in the living room to the cot in the panic room, because he wakes up without it on.

Oh my gawd... is Future!Dean HAWT in it... jus' sayin'...

And I personally agree with your assumption about Sam removing the coat since I always thought it was Sam who dragged (or lugged/carried) Dean's unconscious ass from the library to the panic room.

Future!Dean is pretty goddamn fine. Though, personally, I think it has a lot to do with the thigh holster...*drool*

And yes, I'm pretty sure Bobby would be like "He's your brother, YOU carry him!...and give me back my coat!"

Especially since Cas probably inconveniently disappeared not long after dumping Dean on the bed in the library and Bobby being in a wheelchair and all... And then Bobby would probably fling the medkit down the stairs after Sam...

HEE! I saw the ep not that long ago so it's pretty fresh. But yes, after Cas essentially beats the snot out of Dean he just teleports the unconscious guy back to Bobby's and dumps him on the bed... and I'm assuming he inconveniently vanishes like he tends to do. And, well, yeah, that ep was still in the Bobby's-A-Cripple arc... so it definitely fell to Sam by default and Bobby still probably chewed Sam out and forced Sam to tend to his big, unconscious, half-idiot of a brother by carrying him to the panic room and cleaning up Dean's face... I rather like the image of Bobby throwing the first aid kit down the stairs after Sam and yelling at Sam not to show his face until Dean's conscious.

HEEE!!!!! It so would be Bobby to do that -- yell at Sam to carry Dean and demand his jacket back and then throwing the medkit down the stairs, narrowly missing Sam. :)

Henley's are kind of hard to tell apart, since really, Dean could be wearing ANY green henley at any given time. It's why my henley categories are kind of a "catch all" rather than referring to one specific article of clothing. You'll notice the "grey henley" entry I specify in each "appearance" whether the henley is light or dark grey...and then there's shorter necked ones and longer necked ones, and I just didn't have the patience to try to tell them all apart.

Which is the long answer to the short answer: I don't know. You'll have to do a comparison and see what you think.
