According to the latest news....CW is postponing the mid-season premiere of Supernatural so that they can play Vampire Diaries and Nikita on Friday instead. 

I think my icon says it all.

And since Sam has had his say in icon form,  Dean would like to weigh in...

And it looks, from what I've seen on ONTD_SPNP, like they're giving different rationales to different people, *none* of which justify waiting to make the announcement until the bloody day before.

The CW is now second only to SyFy at the top of my list of Networks I Will Never, Ever Work For (if, y'know, I manage to get into writing for television).

What the hell?? ;__; That's so stupid... I can't believe they're airing reruns of other shows instead of the new SPN ep! Jesus. That sucks. :( I was so looking forward to tomorrow night...

I heard that there was some type of editing problem and they had to re-shoot something? But you think they could have noticed before this and had time to fix it already...And the least they can do is play some Supernatural ep on Friday even if it isn't the new one...

But they've been advertising FOREVER that the new episode is Jan 28th. I've seen it on CW, TBS and USA. Are they stupid? Or I guess the better question should be 'how stupid are they?'

On one hand, so not cool to pull such crap on us poor hiatus-deprived viewers. On the other hand, I will be out of town Friday and would miss debut of new episode if aired as planned. Still, not happy it had to be this way even if it worked for my situation.

dude, I was on tumblr and thought, that's a joke, right??? Anyways, the devoted Vampire Diaries & Nikita fans do their best to watch it on Thursday night. American Idol auditions suck compared to the other quality episodes. And people watch the shows that they miss online the next day!

If Supernatural had half-naked girls and THAT much sex as TVD - probably not. And that's sad, because I like that this is one of the shows where they don't go for the sex the moment they have a bit too much time left after dealing with actual plot problems [like less than 25 minutes plot and then the rest of time is for kissing in different states of undress].

Does that really late announcement about pushing SPN back came after TVD aired? I mean do you think they aired TVD and then noticed the numbers they had for that show and thought that they had to somehow save the rating? Or they decided that before when they suddenly noticed what they are going against in that time slot? [And I honestly don't know why you should know that and why I am asking that to you :) ]
