Oh man...after avoiding getting into any other shows, events tonight conspired against me...
1)I felt like doing some knitting.
2)I needed something to watch while I knit.
3)Everyone's on my flist has been talking about Sherlock.
4)I love a good crime dramedy (note: all American crime dramas no longer count as good crime dramas, in my opinion).
5)Apparently Steven Moffat knows that it's all about the love.

But man....good writing, nicely updated to current time...great actors...

Why are there only 3 episodes? Why is it going to take me 2 hours to download the second one? I should be in bed by then! No good can come of this....

On a completely unrelated note: If almonds give me headaches, why do I keep eating them? You know, this self-destructive behaviour of mine will get me nowhere.

The BBC usually produces miniseries instead of full series for reasons I don't know. But on the plus side, they're showing 3 more 90-minute episodes of Sherlock on August next year, so you have that to look forward to. :D

August is so far away!! Ah well...this will keep me from obsessing too much over it. Last night I had to force myself to go to sleep, instead of staying up until 3am to watch the second episode. This morning I'm going to have to force myself to do my job instead of watching the second episode :P

I have also fully embraced the new BBC Sherlock. Here in the US, I missed the first episode but caught the second two and have thoroughly enjoyed them. Definitely great mysteries that engage the mind--and drove me to my dictionary at least twice. While I am glad that more episodes will be filmed and released next year, it is a long time away.

LOL once you get addicted to Sherlock, there's no turning back... There is a very big fandom by now and there's tons of good fanfic out there. I think small doses can be a good thing, especially with some BBC shows. Speaking of UK tv shows, have you seen Misfits yet? It's more of a feelgood show about some teens doing community service when they get struck by lightning and get superpowers. And I just learned of a new show which is a girl powered version of Supernatural: Lost Girl (http://missyjack.livejournal.com/659761.html). I hope you enjoy the rest of Sherlock!

Yes, I'll definitely have to lurk a bit in the fandom a bit during the next year while I wait for more episodes.

I have not seen Misfits! I only just heard of it's existence yesterday and didn't even know what it was about...definitely sounds like fun though. I'll have to check it out once I'm done with Sherlock.

I have heard about Lost Girl...is it an American series? I'm not sure on it yet. I suppose it's not fair of me to try to form opinions without actually watching an episode though - maybe I'll have to put it on the list of things to check out during my Christmas vacation.
