I just feel offended on behalf of the guys. I guess I just can't help but imagine how I would feel if someone pasted my head on some porn star sucking cock...and then, pasted the head of my platonic best friend on the body with the cock...and yeah, I'd be pretty appalled if someone did that, so it doesn't really matter if it's being done to strangers - I'm still offended and appalled.

Not that there's anything wrong with the act being depicted itself - it's more just the use-without-permission of someone's face that appalls me. I'd probably actually enjoy the image if it was just posted with the original faces (of people who gave their permission to be seen in that context.)

I so so so agree with you. Thanks for articulating what we too often fear to put out there. I feel the same way, actually, about RPS. So many fans seem to love it -- including people I dearly love -- but sorry, squick city, for the same reason you don't like those manips.

Yes, now - just to out myself, I CAN and DO read AU RPS. Because my brain has the capacity to picture slightly different looking people who just happen to have the same names as actors. That being said, I know that's a divorce that most people can't make.

I wish there were free stories of "original fiction" out there, and that people didn't feel the need to use actors names...but, such is the way of the world, sadly.
