Day 09 - Best scene ever

So, we jump from a question that is too easy, to a question that is far too hard.

Best scene ever in ANYTHING? Even if I just try to choose a best scene ever in Supernatural - that's impossible. I can't even pick a favorite episode, let alone a favorite scene!

How about we do it this way...

Jensen's Best Scene Ever: Extremely hard to choose - but I'm going to go for the soliloquy over Sam's dead body in AHBL2. Close runner up is arguing with himself in The End.

Jared's Best Scene Ever: I really like Samifer (I also really like Jared's Meg - it's ironically the only time I enjoyed that character)...I also love his big puppy eyes...anyway, I'm going to go with the mirror scene in Swan Song, because we get both Sam and Lucifer. Close runner up is Meg!Sam attacking Jo (I don't care what the feminists say, that scene was frickin' hot), and all of Mystery Spot.

Best Brotherhood Scene Ever: I absolutely love the scene in Playthings when Sam is drunk and clingy and adorable, and Dean is all exasperated. Seriously, how could Dean possibly promise to kill someone THAT adorable?

Non-Supernatural:

Best battle scene: Storming the Earth King's castle in Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Best sword fight: Inigo and the count in The Princess Bride.

Haha, exactly! How can I choose among them!

"Offer me money!" "Yes" "Offer me everything I ask for!" "All that you want and more! Please!" "I want my father back, you son of a bitch."

Man, that scene was like crack to me as a kid.

how can you choose? just pick 'em all. that's what i did.

i never saw Princess Bride when i was a kid. i think i was in college when i first saw it.....

"I'm not a witch, i'm your wife!" - i loved that scene.

"good luck storming the castle!" - i say that a few times here and there. and get blank looks.

Yeah, while most children grow up with kids movies...I grew up with the Princess Bride. Well, from around age 6 onward anyway.

I like: "Life is pain. Anyone who says different is selling you something."

Hehehe.

You know what line I always quote and everyone looks at me oddly:

"It's probably some local fisherman, out for a pleasure cruise at night...through eel infested waters."

It's surprising how many circumstances I've been in when that line springs to my head :P

Oh, also: "I'm not saying I'd like to build a summer home here, but the trees are actually quite lovely!"

"I'll explain and I'll use small words so that you'll be sure to understand, you warthog-faced buffoon."

"That may be the first time in my life a man has dared insult me."

"It won't be the last."

*cackles madly*

Oh! And then there's:

"Fezzik, you did something right."

"Don't worry - I won't let it go to my head."

And my personal favorite:

"Have you ever considered piracy? You'd make a wonderful Dread Pirate Roberts."

Vizzini: INCONCEIVABLE!!!
Inigo: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

hee.

and then there's the "mostly dead" part.... my danged memory....

"There's a shortage of perfect breasts in the world. It would be a pity to damage yours."

Although, to be fair, he breasts were a shade on the small side to be considered 'perfect', but they were perky, so I suppose that makes up for it.

Haha, I think Westley was just a small-breast-man. They do exist, you know!

"What was that for?"
"Because you've always been so nice to me, and I won't be seeing you again, as I'm killing myself once we reach the honeymoon suite."
"Won't that be nice... SHE KISSED ME!"

"Get back, witch!"
"I'm not a witch, I'm your wife, but after what you just said, I'm not even sure I wanna be that anymore!"

"If there are, we all be dead!"

Haha, awesome! Completely agree with all of your choices, including the non-Supernatural ones.

Ya know, if y'all ever get the chance, y'all should read the novel version of TPB. It's got a wonderfully long story on how Rugen came to kill Inigo's father.

I thought I bought it on audiobook once, but it turned out to be the abridged version :(

So, it's something I have to keep in mind for the future...

Was it truly an abridged version? Or was the full title:

The Princess Bride
s. Morgenstern's Classic Tale of True Love and High Adventure
The 'good parts' version abridged by William Goldman

?

Because if you're looking for an actual book by 'S. Morgenstern', you're gonna be disappointed. The above title is the only novel version of the story out there.

No, it was ironically an abridged version of the "abridged" version. It basically followed just the parts in the movie. Or at least I think it did - unless all the different parts were tacked onto the very end. I never really did get all the way through it, because it was kind of boring when it followed along so exactly with what I already knew.
