Promo Clip for 5x21
Apr. 30th, 2010 04:58 pmOh man...I couldn't resist and I'm SO GLAD I didn't resist...this is hilarious....
Spoiler central: Cas is back and looking a little worn. Bobby obviously took that deal...and Sam asks the questions that everybody else is too polite to ask. I love the whole scene...brilliant. I bet Jim and Mark had a blast with that...hahaha
I love this show so much

Date: 2010-05-01 08:56 am (UTC)It is a far happier place, with people being brought low by their own hubris, struggling under great burdens of guilt, going mad as a result, indirectly contributing to the suicide of a loved one, and becoming estranged from family members! And then getting stoned, and telling stories in which they are the villain.
See? The fact that I see that is happy is proof that show has broken me. I may just have to see how it all turns out before actually watching it.

Date: 2010-05-01 04:35 pm (UTC)At least with the storyline they are playing with now, there's very little angst IMO, even though it might sound like there is. It's all done as tragedy. There's very little 'woe is me' and self-pity on Walter's part. He just accepts that he deserves it, which he totally and completely does. In a way, it's an old fashioned redemption story, in which it's not about forgiving himself. It's not about being able to accept forgiveness. It's about...him owning his sins without excuses or hope for redemption... and, (I think) totally undeserved mercy. Classical tragedy crossed with a tale of redemption. It's interesting.
