Wow, those sounds like fun traditions (though I would probably end up using the dollar for a parking meter at some point). I like the grape one - a delicious way to think of resolutions!
When I was a kid, we used to try to complete a jigsaw puzzle before midnight (I lived with 3 other siblings, plus at least one parent). Sometimes we were so successful we could do several, other times we were not successful at all - we never did the resolution thing, but I always felt like how far we got on the puzzle said something about how successful the next year was going to be. While we did the puzzle, we would listen to the radio countdown the best songs of the year.
These days I usually grab a bottle of wine and go to whatever party I've been invited to...though, in truth, most of the time I miss staying at home and doing puzzles.
