Yeah, I had a similar feeling. Can't really explain it. It was a good episode, I just wasn't grabbed.
I agree that Dean going along with Sam at the end made sense.
Yeah, I felt bad for poor Marcus. Gwen was cool - and I also like the fact that they didn't have her as someone who was madly in love with the guy, but also she wasn't cold-hearted or whatever. Like... she was a really nice well rounded character that was going through a complex series of emotions in the aftermath of a tragedy.
You know, the only thing (in recent years) that I can think of that Dean didn't just have in the trunk, was when they needed gold blades to hunt the Banshee in Into the Mystic - and then they were just 15 minutes from the Bunker and had them there. :P
Also, I hope they have glasses cases for those lenses, otherwise those things are ridiculously scratched up after being in the trunk that long.
I really hope that Joshua is actually there - and that he survived the fall and all that. But MAN, I'm not even sure he is... and then, if he is, is he still good? Or is he taking a harder stance after everything that happened? I don't see that meshing with his personality, but I suppose anything is possible.
I also sheered Crowley, if only because it didn't make him seem like 100% idiot, only 50% idiot. (I'm still pissed about the storyline) - they have enough big bads with Dagon and the Nephilum - JUST LET LUCIFER 'DIE'. Sigh....
Anyway, I'll be interested to see what happens. I will say that despite a few rough patches and the mid-season finale, this season is doing pretty good with a slower pacing than the Carver years.
