It's more like 2011 and 2012 are one year. And 2014 and 2015 are one year. 2013 is it's own year that happens in 2012 if you follow the timeline the way the show does, and then 2014-2015 happens in 2013 if you follow the timeline the way the show does.
Does that make sense? You only have maximum TWO years happening at the same time. And two years happen at the same time both in S6 and S8.
(It gets even more confusing when you consider that most "years" in the show are "school years", ie: they run fall-spring, straddling two calendar years. So on the show, when you get repeats, it looks like this: spring 2010 happens only once, but fall 2010 happens twice. Spring 2011 happens twice too, but there's only one fall 2011. Likewise, spring 2012 only happens once, but fall 2012 happens twice, as does spring 2013, but we're back to just once for fall 2013.)
