I've read so freakin' much that I can usually spot plot-twists a mile away, but you managed to surprise me - you deserve cookies.
And I love how Dean's a little besotted after Hermione shows and kicks ass.
But I think the most heartbreakingly in-character bit you managed to include was this: "Wow, promises really mean nothing to you, do they!?"
And I know what you mean about coming to the end of a story and not knowing what to do next - just give yourself a couple of days before writing anything new and you'll be fine.
